Hey everyone! Congrats on helping to make this thread the highest post count thread on touch arcade! (if i'm wrong, dont' tell me, because i'm really happy right now). Anyone care to summarize the last thousand posts or so? Anything I need to be aware of? How's the new matchmaking tweaks working out? Allen
Some people don't like it cus of the many 1 vs 1 matches and thanks i've made almost all my posts on here only like 10 weren't the other 400 are right here
Hey Allen, a few things: 1. The matchmaking is based upon skill level, which shouldn't be. Yes, skill level counts, but someone who's level 30 with a skill level of 6000 who's matched up with a level 50 with same skill level, will obviously lose because of the lack of upgrades available for him/her. 2. The berserker shield NEEDS to be removed, if not dramatically decreased, perhaps only one respawn per game/player? I'll add more as I think of them. EDIT: Ah, yes. I've also noticed that 90% of my matches are now 1v1. Which is upsetting, because it's with players with a skill level 2000+ higher than mine.
I actually like one on one. No need to worry about some one hitting me from behind or sniping while I`m trying to frag someone else. As far as match making is concerned, I think it`s a big improvement and I`m being matched with players who are pretty much equal to me in skills/level. A huge improvement IMO LMFAO Now he`ll hate you too
I'm level 9 with 1500 skill, but I keep getting paired with level 27s who destroy me with Rocket launchers. Furthermore, I live in Asia, meaning there's major lag for me, which is acceptable with the AR. However, seeing as how the AR recently got nerfed, I keep getting owned by PCs. And I can't use my PC because by the time the bullet flies out of my gun the guy has already moved 5 steps to either side thanks to the lag. Thus, AR's currently my best choice since I can keep spraying and then slowly adjust my aim, but can't do so with the PC. Also, I seem to be the ONLY one in every game I play who's using an AR. EVERYONE else is using PCs and rocket launchers. Is there some way to balance the weapons so that every weapon will have its pros and cons so that everyone doesn't just stick to one weapon/armor? Thanks for keeping the 1 hour recharge btw. Just saying that the moment it goes back to the original I'll stop playing again. I'm not having the best of times with the game anyway Thanks for the work thus far allen.
Well, some of us have responded by saying that they're still getting matched with people of vastly different skills (1000 difference). For me personally (and also some other people) is that we get matched with people of similar skills, but vastly different levels (I've gotten matched with people 10 levels above me). Someone else (level 9) was matched with level 25. We think level should be taken into consideration more as well. Hope this helps. Uncalled for would be calling him a retard...
I'm sorry to end your happy streak. And I don't mean it in any degrading way. What you guys have done with a free app was astonishing. But you asked for the results of the new matchmaking tweaks, and I'll give it to you. More if you ask.
Hmm, being matched against players with 2000 skill higher than you goes against the majority of feedback i've been getting. What level and skill are you specifically? What time of day do you usually play? Can do me a favor and keep tabs on this? I can see it happening a lot in a single play play session if the player pool in that particular time frame was really really bad, but if it keeps happening to you every single time you try to match, that's something we'd like to be aware of. Personally, the last 15 matches I played since the matchmaking tweak has gone in has been with players who are about 150 +/- points away from me. If it makes you feel any better, I only use the AR at level 17 and consistently place 1st or 2nd against PC and rocket users
