No, i know what you are saying and it does not apply in the certain scenerios i ran into today and over the last few days. I know how to play the game, i know when someone is powered up, i don't mind that, i don't feel cheated in that case. When i do feel cheated is when 3 of us are shooting someone and they just won't die. They haven't reached a level to where they could upgrade their armour to a level in which they could pull something like this off. If i was playing against someone 10 levels ahead of me, then ok i understand, but when they are 5-10 levels below me and the rest of the room and we are all teaming up and cannot kill them, with our upgrades weapons and armour, then something is wrong. Its not every game that i run into this, it only seems to happen once out of 10 games, but its frustrating when you aren't buying power packs and it happens when you are trying to get credits. You have 1 guy with 10 kills before the rest of you can get 2-3 kills, so you get shit for credits and the power used is wasted.
Also just for reference, i usually am the first one to 10 kills when i play online, so its not like i suck at the game. Even when matched with people 5+ levels ahead of me. Imo something is definately not right in the cases i'm speaking of.
Ok, now I reached Level 16 without buying Energy Cells and after my euphoria I see a lot of downsides in Eliminate. When you have a laggy game you lose energy When you get a call you lose energy When a game suddenly interrupts you lose energy And if I have paid any energy I would have lost not only the money I would have lost the possibility to gain credits. As soon as Modern Combat gets Multiplayer I will delete Eliminate. Target of Eliminate are people who get so addicted that they keep paying... like the good old WoW junkies. Maybe that's good for the developers but to me they sold their souls to the devil.
Hi Everyone, The last list summary of suggestions was taken very graciously by the dev team. It's been a couple days now. Since everyone has been playing for some time, any deeper insights on improvements to your experience? If Zincous or someone has been keeping track and has another summary list, please PM me.
How about giving the winner of a match some free energy so they can play one extra free match in that session? That would be good.
Woohoo!!! This is the bomb! Haha has anyone played me? Hitch100? Haha I'm level 14 now. Hey Allen I emailed mjmoco some of the suggestions that everyone was talkin about for a while. These aren't just enhancing though, it's adding stuff. Making practice mode better, etc.
i played you but you kept killing me.probably cuz i havent upgraded anything in ages so i can save up credits
Kintaro, unfortunately there's no way to distinguish an unintentional game interrupt vs an intentional one. You would also lose energy if: -You exit the game because you're not doing well -You decide to unplug your wifi because you're having a bad game and want to leave it -You call yourself because you got -3 kills and don't want to lose energy -You have a friend text you so that you can bail and not lose energy. Since we can't detect, it has to be all or nothing. Would you really want people to be able to exploit? That would make it so that 95% of the games everyone played where they weren't placed first, everyone would just disconnect to save their energy. Of course we'll continue to find better ways of dealing with this, but for now, this is the system in place in order to provide the best possible play experience for the most amount of people. I hope this makes sense to everyone on why the energy situation is currently like this.
That's actually not too bad of an idea. I kinda like it, giving a reward to the winner besides credits. Maybe making it so that after 3 wins, you don't get the reward (to stop someone from being on an endless streak). But if you have energy, and you win the game (10 kills, not time based), you don't lose your energy for that game, since you're "helping the company out by being the best tester."
This makes perfect sense! If people really want, they can put their device on airplane mode, right? That way they won't get sucked out of the game... Or get an iPod Touch.
Yeah all you do is switch to knife when your behind someone and it will automatically slice em. That way it will be easier if you sneak up on people like in the new game Uncharted 2.
Ok, that makes sense, but how will you compete against Modern Combat or Nova Multiplayer since I believe they will be free. John Carmack will also put some of his Quake Games on iTunes, so whats will your "Unique "selling" Point" be then?
You're not the only one who deals with those problems you know? We all deal with them, we don't complain Tho. If you don't wanna get called, just turn Airplane Mode On.
If i upgrade my current weapon and then later on buy a new weapon, will it be automatically upgraded to that level?
The "unique" selling point is the RPG elements. Most likely, Gameloft isn't going to add that much with their multiplayer. They'll have basic "fair" games with everyone the same. That's what I think at least.
It seems like a lot of people are saying they'll drop this after Nova or Sandstorm multiplayer comes out, but even after those are released, I still think Eliminate will be strong. The RPG and leveling element is probably what attracts a lot of people, instead of just being a normal online FPS. Assuming Nova and Sandstorm don't have that RPG element, I'm guessing Eliminate will still be played just as much. Even though Nova and Sandstorm will be "free" multiplayer, Eliminate is essentially free too. It's ultimately your choice to get the DLC. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose. I'll be interested to see if the population of Eliminate drops significantly after Nova/MC online is released.
