So it's hard for us to diagnose that his is actually a bug because many of us haven't detected it. Let me quickly explain how our aiming works and then let's work out whether there is still a problem. In a game like Modern Combat, you swipe to aim. At the end of your swipe, the cursor just stops. In Eliminate, we've added inertia to the look controls. So if you swipe in a general direction, the aim will keep moving until it's used up the applied movement momentum. (This let's us do things like quick turns -- and allows you to keep up with the frantic pace of our deathmatches). If this doesn't sound like what's going on, please let me know and I'll look more deeply at the issue. --MJ
If you guys and girls like the idea enough for cells to drop in game at a rare rate, please let ngmoco know, my lone voice is not enough.
I like it but I doubt they will give in to the pressure. Ill bet they are making a lot of money off of the current method. Ill help you out tho
@MJ, That makes sense, but maybe you could add an option to turn off the inertia? That way players get to choose what's best for them. @McCurry, That would be a pretty sizeable mobile phone - not exactly portable...
The targeting system improves the effectiveness of your weapons (i.e. it increases the damage your weapons can deal -- and affects all weapons).
i dont think the inertia factor is what causing this, but like nizy said the option to turn it off would be good. sounds like that might have been the prob a few times, but definitely not all. i cant remem which other mems said they experienced this also, hopefully they'll read these messages and add their experience with it
One thing I don't want to do is ruin the game for ngmoco, I want them to keep making money and the game itself is well built and great fun, but some minor reward for free players would be a great little boost and hopefully keep players and servers full. It needs to be done in a way where cell packs can still be sold for money and not be pushed to one side losing profits. One reason why I said it may be too fast to earn enough cells in 6-8 matches, but to have them as a super rare drop would keep me hooked onto playing free matches between charges and those impulse buys of the 59p cell packs.
At this point, it's hard to believe it's anything but a bug. It only drifts to the right, and does it almost all the time without even touching the screen.
The game is excellent, I don't have any problems with the controls - and i don't know why all developers think its better to start off with low sensitivity, it's actually harder with low sensitivity, they just assume people are idiots and make big swiping motions but does anyone else think auto-fire is too cheap? I've been using it and can't go back to manually firing when this option is available..too easy. I hope they consider removing the option completely.
I just had a game last 10 seconds. There was 1 total kill in the whole match, and it ended, and I lost energy that I paid for. Not that charged up, but money down the drain.
auto fire makes u fire late. Your shots go behind them when either of of you are strafing. What I do is use auto fire to weed out invisible folks then double tap and align my shots. Try it, it should help you out with your efficiency.
i have the plasma cannon and the rifle... is there a certain why sometimes i start off with one an entire game and the other sometimes?
