Aha me and zincous just had an epic battle featuring me crawling on the ceiling with my hook, me chasing him around a poll trying to smash him with my beserker shield, me smashing him with my shield, causing him to bounce off a wall, get scorched (turn black, not sure if this is a glitch) and staying alive only to be killed by my plasma gun and me hiding in the water, just high enough (with my grapple) not to drown but low enough so he can't see me

Do not listen to what anyone says about which battalion to join. Listen to your heart. But if you can't listen to your heart/can't understand what it's telling you, then you should join the 53rd. Because that's probably what it's trying to tell you anyways anyways.
