I'm not really sure players care so much about skill points, I just spent half an hour dropping mine so that I can get easier opponents and gain more credits. Then once I have my ideal equipment I will start to raise my skill drastically. Does anyone see a potential problem with that plan?
If NGmoco is smart, I see a BIG problem with that plan. People who did that in games such as Halo 3, Call of Duty, Gears of War, etc. were banned from online because of it. I highly doubt that NGmoco would leave out a tracking feature in order to detect this sort of thing. Not to mention it's extremely cheap.
Nope, I had to do the same thing as I was level 11 (I don't buy energy) but skill was 3900-4300 avg. I kept getting pitted up against 24-32 lvl players and a waste of my energy. I am down to 2300-2700 or so and leveling up ,when I had energy, was a breeze. Now I have better luck in all rounds with placing well.
If ngmoco could fix the matchmaking system to work where low level players would not be put up against the leaders in the battalions, then we wouldn't have to throw matches just to lower our skills, so that we'd have a chance to actually get credits and upgrade our gear. It is a waste to buy all these power cells just to have them pissed away because we got put up against the Terrorist 107 cell I can see it to be cheap or cheating from one perspective, but this game is new and the system is not "fixed" as of yet. People are blowing $$ all over the place and ngmoco is making a killing, yet the game system is not "yet" refined, so one does what they have to do so they can still have an enjoyable experience playing a game that they love to play. I don't buy energy anymore because it gets wasted on matches that have 2 people and it lasts 15 seconds with a winner that has 2 kills, and or losing connection to HQ, or even when added to a match that has seemed to have already started with level 30 guys that I couldn't even phase at my level 11 ness. I'll back the guys that see it the same way. Games are made to be fun(for consumers), and games are made to be profitable(for developers). I just want to have fun.
Agreed, I'm a level 11 and I was getting put up against level 18-20 players, it was becoming impossible. If ngmoco has a problem with that then I would stop, but until then I consider it to be enhancing my gameplay.

are you still number one Terrorist or did someone steal your thunder? if there were clan tags I would join but I don't see the point, I don't even know who I'm playing against unless I drop down the ingame menu
