These were some of the English errors I found. In level 5 I had sound effects but there was no music even if I turned it off and on from the menu. Having more music tracks would be nice because that one does get a bit repetitive after awhile. I also found a bug where the all the sounds on the game disappeared when I got a text message and switched to the messages screen and then came back. Overall I'm really enjoying the game the tutorials have been really helpful and good. The graphics look great and the difficulty on normal doesn't seem to be too bad! I would suggest that the shovel icon be moved or made bigger because when I have it selected and drag it my finger completely covers it so first couple times I tried to use it I didn't think it was working because I couldn't see it! I will keep plugging away and do a final post for the night after!
Pros/Likes: Shop system to upgrade elves and buy extra Mercenaries. 3-Solar scoring mechanic. Honor wall to gain extra Holy Leaves. Lego-like characters with amazing graphics. I love each pixel of this game!!! Original background music, unique sound effects for each type of elf and enemy. Cons/Suggestions: There should be an "Elfipedia" as I called to show all elves and descriptions about them including strength and weakness. The Elfipedia records all phases of elves. There should be a "Monstipedia" as I called to show all enemies and bosses with their speed, type and other information. The entry of enemies in some maps are not recognizable at first. There should be a highlight or something obvious to remind players. Is it better to have a 3-second count-down before the game starts? Can you also add Game Center Achievements? There're still some script errors. I will point them out in later posts. Loading screens seem to be boring with black background only. Can you add some animations about our characters? Add IAP to unlock all levels.
I hope there will be an "Advance Call" or "Next Wave" button where you can press it while a wave of monster is still present to call the next wave. In exchange, you will gain 10-20% more coin drop each kill of that advance wave monsters. Bug report #1: Game got stuck at the shop menu screen. I press home while on that menu to make a report, then got back again to the app, game froze. I can still hear the music playing but I cannot press anything. Only way to play again is to kill the app. UPDATE: Okay I tried to press home while on the main menu and got the same stuck with background music running bug. I guess you cannot press home while playing this game. Hope you can fix that. Tried on my iPad5.0.1. UPDATE #2: I've tried to return again to the game after reporting the UPDATE above and now I can press everything in the game again, weird. UPDATE #3: This bug always happen on my iPad2 5.0.1. The game mostly froze everytime I press HOME and go back to the game. Sometimes it works though but mostly froze.
Typo #1: Should be "Remove the obstacles to place more elf towers." Typo #2: Should be "Cast ice spell to decrease movement speed." Typo #3: Should be "Throw bomb to give damages to multiple units." or "Throws bomb that can damage multiple units."
Bug Report 1: The scores are not shown over the preview maps. Only the last finished level has the score. Currently I'm playing Map 6. (not finished) The score only shows over Map 5. EDIT: It's not a bug. It shows the score for different difficulties. Sorry.
Playing the game right now and ive noticed some typo error like the other beta testers reported like the one stated by animex, i also find the game quite easy maybe a next wave button should be added or make the tower upgrading limited per level..coz the towers can already be upgraded to higher levels from the start of the game that makes it easy to wipe out all the monsters. Game graphics is not that appealling to me, maybe the developers could make additional enhancement and also the game audio is just ok...if its possible for the developer to make more like a soundtrack for an awesome movie(like lord of the rings for example). This game has a lot of potential, just needed a few tweaks and helpful advise from us beta testers so that the developers could make this game better.
Suggestion: Can you add some animations for the Elven Gate when it is attacked? Such as some flames for the Gate in Forest theme? Can there be a new elf or Mercenary to have the ability to rewind or to roll back the enemies for a second? This would be great! Script error: At theme selection screen, the sentence "You can play this after finish pas themes with normal or easy mode." should be "You can play this theme after finishing past themes with normal or easy mode." Description of Fire Dragon: "Increase attack powers of every elves for a moment." should be "Increase attack powers of each elf on the map for a moment." The description of Samson is similar to that of Icer? Should the description of Samson be "Cast basic spell at enemies to attack. Can hit both sky and ground units. Attack power and range depends on upgrade levels."? At least the same description in Upgrade screen. Description of Bomber: "Throw bomb for give damages to multiple units." should be "Throw bombs to cause damages to multiple units." Description of Sharpshooter: "Shoot powerful arrow to flying enemies." should be "Shoot powerful arrows to flying enemies." Bug: The tower-building choices are not beside the selected spot. They are 2 grids far away from the spot. It happen is all maps with the spots close to the border. Is it designed on purpose?
Encountered a bug #1 After playing for a few minutes i pressed the home button to check on my mails,but when i get back to the game the screen freezes..i have to close the game via task manager and reopen the game. Previous game played already gone.huhuhu
Yep there is a lot of typo errors and grammatical mistakes almost wherever there is extended script. That should definately be looked into. I also have to say I dislike how the white colored stones of the monster's path blends in so easily with the other stones. While it is kinf of a minor annoyance, it just seems to really pull from the visual appeal, and the levels appear more messy at times, when they are in fact well thought out and could easily appear just that with more ocntrast between the path and the side. Also, why is it that you cannot place towers in some sides of a level (for instance in level two of the forest, I coud not place any towers on the far right row)? Also, the items (at the bottom) are not explained clearly enough in either the tutorial or in the help menu (not sure they are in there at all).
I am thinking of maybe an iPad2 5.0.1 problems only? SUGGESTION: Hope there will be an auto-roate or auto-orientation option or feature. I love to play with my iPad2's stand and I cannot do it with this game since it is upside-down. Thanks.
I just downloaded it and quite happy with it, I couldn't find a way to express the Pro's and Con's in text so I thought I should do a Chart! Pro's -Cute Graphics and awesome animations, love them! -inGame Currency which can be awarded through playing -upgradeable towers -inGame Shop -Gamecenter Support -Feels how a Tower Defense game should feel -iPad Support Con's -Lack of Instructions -Some spelling mistakes This is all, haven't received any crashing or bugs yet and I've been playing for about 1 1/2 hours now, for the spelling mistakes: I am currently collecting screenshots of them and will send them in before beta ends or when I have enough.
I just finished downloading and gave the first few levels a try. First impressions are very positive. The art looks excellent, and the game feels like the most polished AppsAsia entry to date. There are a lot of awkward translation errors though, but I'll have to post those later. +1. This feature would make Elf Defense stand out from other TD games in the App Store.
Gotten the mail! I'm in! Alright, downloading the game in progress and will work on it once I got it installed in my pad! Congratz to all that get in!
BUG REPORT .. I have repeatedly pressed home in several menus on my ipad2 and no issues yet ...but I came across a strange bug ... I decided to play most of the game testing on my ipad2 5.0.1 solo I was playing and hit pause and then home button so I could leave home and bring my son to school...when I came back to the game I hit pause to resume mid gameplay and got a Strange white flashing lighting effect... this was around the borders top and bottom of the gameplay screen ... It flashed for about 7 seconds and stopped ..then came back quickly for 3 seconds... After it was done I was left with the screen looking like this..A small graphic bug on the top right and bottom left.. I will continue to play on both the ipad2 and my iphone4 5.0.1 and report again for my final post of the day.. I feel we should all respect the 4 post maximum that they wished for that way the contest is fair, the thread isn't flooded and Peter has a set amount of posts to review..anyone else agree?
There seems to be a bug with the "Stay 5 minutes at the menu" Achievement/Honor, if you exit the game and start it up again it will unlock, I don't know if this has been posted before, so sorry if it was. Also 2 Suggestions I have: a freeplay Mode/sandbox Mode where you can choose your starting money, towers and map, you won't unlock achievements through it because it would be too easy. Map Editor: I know a Map Editor isn't that easy as I tried working on a game too a while back, but it should be possible for this game, you can choose if the level should be small,medium or large and then put stone and grass down.Set enemies and enemie movement pattern and there you go Regards
Some menu not in English or error. Sometimes it crashed when push coming,like mail,twitter notification. But it is so cute,I think all will well when it in appstore. I had played 5 maps,not easy to passed with three suns.
Yeah I'd like to add that I really like the art as well. The blocky but well defined characters are well done, and the environments complement them well. I think the tip screens could use a bit more art. In the select map menus, I think that the maps could be larger and the info at the bottom could be a bit smaller. The music is good. It's not great, but it is does not seem like it will be irritating in large doses, which is important for TD games.
