    Day 2 Comment 2

    (again, this is what I'm calling my comment 2 because I was sleeping most of the day and am now up for the night) So, I just finished the forest theme and can now comment on it as a whole. It started off quite easy but got a bit difficult near the end. There seems to be quite of bit of depth hidden behind the simple, cute exterior. I did notice something that I thought was a little strange though. On the level that introduces the dragon mercenary, it said that it was unlocked and everything, but I was unable to use it after that level and in the shop it says I have to unlock it (purchase it), which I think it's a little strange to introduce an element that you must first unlock in order to use. Other than that, I'm really liking the game. It's quite polished and has a lot of depth, plus the cute graphics make it visually appealing. Overall, the first theme was highly enjoyable to play. I'll get to playing the second theme tomorrow (later today) and post some comments on that, plus if I find any more bugs I will let you know. I hope these late comments will be okay. I went to take a quick nap because I was incredibly tired, but I woke up at 2am, fully rested, haha, but realized that it was after 12 and I hadn't posted any comments yet.

    Bug: If you go to the home menu while the game is launching and open it up again it will not show the loading screen, it will just give a black screen until the JellyOasis logo pops up.

    Suggestion:Economy Tower, if you place the tower, it will generate goldseeds over time, like 50 goldseeds every 2 seconds for 20 seconds(which equals to 500 goldseeds) and the price should be 400 (or lower?) for sure this would get you an advantage, but in a fast paced game like this, waiting for goldseeds can be deadly, and so is not having enough goldseeds.The point with this tower is that if you don't have enough money to buy a tower you can place this, but it needs some time to generate goldseeds, and before it is done generating, maybe an army could have passed through.

    Once there's not enough Holy Leaf to buy more items, there will be a pop-up telling that "Not enough holy leaves." Then there should be a pop-up to ask whether players are willing to buy more or not. :) It will be more convenient.

    Maps of Forest Theme:

    1. The Green Country -> Green Country
    3. Twin Road -> Twin Roads
    8. Lots of Choice -> Lots of Choices
    9. Abstruse Defend ? Why do you use the word abstruse?

    TRANSLATION ERROR: After buying a Mercenary, I got this message "Hire all mercenary towers". I think it should say "Mercenary tower Hired" or "Hired a Mercenary Tower" since I just bought one.

    In my opinion as im playing/beta testing elf defense. I find that the upgrade of the tower till level 5 is quite high. I prefer it could be only to 3rd level or as high as 4th level. Because while I am playing, I'm more intend to upgrade the tower rather than build other tower. The upgrade consist of lot golden seed. So I coulnt build as much tower to attack. This is just my point of view.
    Overall I really enjoy playing this game. Great music and graphic.

    Played on the iPad and I just realised that:

    1. The intro story doesn't make sense at all. I tried rereading it and I couldn't comprehend the storyline. LOL.
    2. The graphics really pop up in the iPad version but the black borders at the top and bottom is not exactly pretty.
    3. "Touch arrow's pointing location" should be replaced with something like "Touch the indicated area"

    More comments later..

    Suggestion #1: Hope you can make another menu for the "TIPS". Most tips specially when loading a level disappears so fast that you won't have time to read it. This will be very helpful for new players and tip on how to unlock the crazy mode, etc..

    This "Tips" menu can be seen and selected in the Main Menu.

    Suggestion #2: Hope you can add a "HIGHLIGHT" button in-game. If you use or press the "HIGHLIGHT" button, the buildable blocks will be highlighted or change its color to blue or more seen one. This will be helpful specially if you are looking for more blocks to build your towers. You will just need to press this "HIGHLIGHT" button or just an icon (to conserve screen space) to see buildable blocks rather than touching them one by one.

    Suggestion #3: I think adding a "BONUS" level will make this game more fun. Adding a "BONUS" level like "Survive an endless wave of monsters for a limited time". Finishing is "BONUS" level will grant you leaves or items. The "BONUS" round will only activates after playing one by one levels 1-3 or 1-4 and another on levels 4-6 or 5-8 and so on. They must be played in order. Or you can unlock this "BONUS" level every time you perfectly clear 3 levels in "EASY" and "NORMAL" mode. The "BONUS" level cannot be skipped or be selected on the level select screen. You will automatically taken to a "BONUS" level when you fulfilled the requirements. A notification will appear first when you've unlocked a "BONUS" level and when you press "OKAY", you will be taken directly to the "BONUS" level.

    Suggestion #4: Hope you can add a "MOVE" when you press or select a tower. Using this "MOVE", you can move your tower anywhere in the screen but can only be placed on a buildable block. You will be charged with coins when you use this function. This is specially helpful if a monster didn't die on your defense and just pass by your towers. You can easily move your upgraded tower and place it close to its path to destroy it using the tower you've moved. This is better than buying a new one and upgrading it. The cost should be a little less than buying an upgraded tower.

    Suggestion #5: Hope you can add more additonal modes like "SURVIVAL" mode or "CHALLENGE" mode. In "SURVIVAL" mode, you will be faced with an endless waves of monsters. You will be competing for the highest score or best time online in this mode. Your score or time will be uploaded to the game center leaderboard.

    "CHALLENGE" mode, in this mode you must fulfill the "Challenge" for each level. Example of the challenge is "You can only use <name of the tower> and survive to win".

    Adding these modes will make the game last long.

    I actually did not even bother to read it, but I honestly feel a story is not even necessary for a TD game. Maybe just a blurb or two for the setting and theme.

    I think with all grammar issues fixed, this is a really refreshing tower defense. I especially like how mercenary towers are done.

    Gmorning everyone! After playing through a little more last night I have a few more suggestions. Not sure everyone will agree with me or not but here goes:

    I really think there may be too many upgrade levels for each of the towers in-game. NOT in the research menu with the holy leaf upgrades, in the actual game as waves of enemies are approaching. There is something like 5 (maybe 6?) times you can upgrade each tower. That's kind of a lot especially considering the length and size of each level and the amount of waves you'll even see. Maybe something like 3 or 4 max upgrades would be more appropriate and manageable for the player.

    Another thing I would like to see and that I've seen in other TD games is tapping on an enemy to focus your attacks on that one until it is defeated. Sometimes an anemy sneaks through ahead but my towers are still shooting at enemies near the start. If I tap that enemy, the towers closest can realign to defeat that enemy. As far as I can tell, that not already implemented in this build of the game but would be very helpful and strategic.

    Lastly, if an endless level is unlocked for each theme, it may make sense to have it unlock after you 3-star (3-sun?) each level of that theme. So for the Forest theme you would get one big Forest-themed endless level after you 3-star each of the 10 levels in that theme. It would be another incentive for the player to replay and perfect each level they've already played.

    You will be needing those 4-5 max upgrades on the later part. I've finished all themes and the "Arctic" last level got 45 waves.

    Bug: After hitting the home button while playing Desert theme stage 6 and going back in the game I lost the music and then after awhile the sound effects cut out also.

    Suggestion 1: It would be nice if there was a "Challenge" Or "Mission" mode where you are given only so many towers to use or golden seeds to use and you have survive a bunch of waves only using what you are given.

    Suggestion 2: Have equipment or items you could buy to upgrade your towers. For example if you bought a binoculars and gave them to the Icer then all the Icers you build will have increased range.

    Suggestion 3: Increase the variety in the challenges for the stages it seems to be pretty linear where each stage has a bit tougher units and more waves. I think some stages should have less time between waves or stages with all fast moving units or stages where you don't get warnings for bosses, flying or fast moving units to increase the challenges of the stages.

    Suggestion 4: Rewrite Peaker's description it says it can spray toxic gas to damage enemies in one wave but only seems to work when they are close to Peaker.

    Suggestion 5: When you upgrade your mercenary it should upgrade their special powers so they last longer or increase speed/damage of it.

    Suggestion 6: Have special bonus / items / achievements for earning certain amount of stars through out your game to give people more of an incentive to go back and replay stages to get the best scores they can.

    Suggestion 7: Add some random weather or time of day effects to the levels to make them look a little more interesting. Could have them effect certain units powers too like if it was raining have the lightning elf's power be increased.

    I wondered about that. It might mess with balancing a bit, but I agree that it would be nice to have as you upgrade, or perhaps as a purchasable item.

    I think the learn curve is very slow. The first, a lot, are very easy to win with 3 stars. I'll put more difficult to the first levels.

    - Regarding storyline I thInk the game tries to execute a theme but does so poorly and it hurts the product. Like Daver16 suggests plot here would best highlight missions. Instead it's only used for set-up and the main characters are suspiciously un-elf-like.

    - The game needs more unit variety, like others have said.

    - Even at 10 levels a setting the background gets monotonous, something needs to better compell gameplay either plot, more unique level design, or something else. Like Lorena said too many easy levels too early. If not for beta I would not feel pushed to play further.
