Elder Sign: Omens places you in control of up to four intrepid investigators, as they fight to keep all-powerful Ancient Ones from invading our world through a museum’s arcane exhibits! *Build a team of unique investigators* *Explore an ever-changing museum* *Face challenging arcane tasks* *Save the world from absolute destruction* *Expand the horror with two exciting in-app purchases* Can you stand against the impending arrival of a malevolent Ancient One? While Elder Sign: Omens brilliantly conveys the spirit of the Elder Sign dice game, a few noteworthy differences were adopted to optimize the mobile play experience: -A limited number of available Ancient Ones streamlines the game play experience while offering adjustable levels of difficulty. Face Yig in normal mode, Azathoth or Tsathoggua in hard mode, or Cthulhu or Ithaqua in very hard mode (in-app purchases required to face Cthulhu and Ithaqua). -A number of subtle changes increase the peril of defending humanity. For example, the random negative effects drawn every midnight are more challenging, and the frequency of “no effect” results has been decreased. Monsters have likewise been altered to make them more difficult. -Finally, there are no Ally cards in Elder Sign: Omens, which further streamlines play while increasing the overall challenge. Love this game. Universal would have been nice, but I don't regret paying to have this on both devices. Though you could pass-n-play with four people if you really wanted to. djflippy Well-Known Member Mar 9, 2009 4,441 0 36 #10 djflippy, Nov 4, 2011 ^this LordGek Well-Known Member Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze Feb 19, 2009 12,282 141 63 Software QA Engineer Saratoga, CA, USA #11 LordGek, Nov 4, 2011 Exactly. It is IDENTICAL to the iPhone version except that it now won't look like pixelated crap if you play it on you iPad. I'm willing to be this is even based on the same build as the iPhone version as I think it has the same bugs (numerous cases where the transitions blinds close up but won't reopen to show the next screen). LordGek Well-Known Member Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze Feb 19, 2009 12,282 141 63 Software QA Engineer Saratoga, CA, USA #12 LordGek, Nov 4, 2011 I think I can officially make the case that I do best in this game with 2 investigator teams. The Doom Clock is not spinning by too quickly and I still have somebody to call in for backup if needed. ojtitus Well-Known Member Jul 7, 2010 3,228 5 38 Male Canton, Ohio #13 ojtitus, Nov 4, 2011 I'm really enjoying this game. Gargamike New Member Dec 16, 2009 1 0 0 #15 Gargamike, Nov 4, 2011 This is just as well made as I hoped it would be. I played for over 3 hours last night and really enjoyed it all and the art looks especially amazing on the iPad. I came pretty close to winning on the first try and won on my last attempt at about 2AM with Mandy Thompson and Kate Winthrop. aceyprime Well-Known Member Apr 23, 2010 293 0 0 #16 aceyprime, Nov 4, 2011 Very fun game but challenging for me so far...still trying to figure out the best characters to use and which to use for each adventure. If I have a something that allows to lock a second glyph, but still I can't match the requirements, how do I dispose one of them to lose? It won't let me. Thanks ojtitus Well-Known Member Jul 7, 2010 3,228 5 38 Male Canton, Ohio #19 ojtitus, Nov 5, 2011 You should be able to tap on the mission name at the top and bring up a menu that gives you the option to fail mission. We had played once but not since as the learning curve was quite steep this is really excellent, bought both versions without hesitation. Its good on the iPhone but a much grander, spookier experience on the iPad. I find it strange it doesn't have any GC support though. It has a High Score table. Seems natural that it would have GC integration to compare with friends. I've played 5 games and saved the world once... Just as punishing as all FFG's co-op board games then (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
