Hi lonely woof don't get really what you mean about level 1-7 but eventually it will come to me ha ha, there must be a certain egz that has special powers am I right, I just have to wait and hatch it.

About the hatching and dying, I have now one egz fully upgraded and now I sm starting on my second so when you die, you allready have another egz at your disposal, you can have up to 5 egz at one time, very clever idea I must say.

I just left my 5 star iTunes review of Egz™

Let me state up front that I've not had a single crash or freeze of the game. I'm on an iPhone 6 iOS 9.3

This is my favorite release in a pretty standout week (Goo Saga), for me.

I love everything about the level design, character development and game progression.

As far as the "perma-death" of your Egz...this is a welcome aspect for me....but, it's not the actual end for your creation. You have five save slots for your Egz™ if one dies you simply build experience point with another new character then buy a dead Egz™ back.

All completed levels and unlocked worlds (progression) remain.

What a beautiful, iOS original, branded game! Very deserving of my five stars and couple dollars.

    Richard

I would love to see Locoroco released for iPhone. I think it would work perfectly.

I feel the same, games like this are still the reason I play games in the first place, a game should make you happy and this game does, I don't like dark and moody games, you always see me on the bright and colorfull ones.

So many positive posts, I had to buy it. But I feel a bit lost in the game. Maybe I need some more holding hands then the rest of you :)
I now have many dead egz without any upgrades and feel forced to grind to revive them (or anyway forced to get xp and slooowly upgrade, bit by bit; is 15 the max I can collect?). It took me time to understand the game, that 15 means a full xp bar and that you cannot get more than that. The boss level locked the game the two times I tried (iPad mini2, iOS 9.3.2 beta because of GC) so I'm still in the first world. If the game had the possibility to play with the different egz (please where is explained what they can do or is it only once?) and explore the levels with each of them without the need to grind/upgrade, I think I would enjoy the game.

I'm on the road currently, but hopefully at some point this weekend, I'll try to respond, in detail, to your post.

Don't want to spoil anything but I just saw the solution for level 1-7 great stuff, it's so enjoyable.

Soasijs about the hatching, you need to upgrade an egz to the fullest, it's hard to die when you fully upgraded and then you need to dress up your egz for even more stability, I gave him headphones and new shoes and the hypnotic circle, that gives you 30% more resistance. And after that you hatch a new egz and built it up in case you might die.

If you've got one Egz left (you should), instead of grinding by replaying previous level, you should try to play one of the 3 mini games. There are really super easy (and can be a little bit too repetitive), but it's really an easy way to get more XP points !

What I prefer to do is to upgrade an Egz to 100%. Once it's done, I try playing with a brand new Egz and try to improve him. This way, if the new one dies, I'll have the 100% upgraded Egz which will allow me to continue without having to grind for more XP.

Ah ! Do you mean the game gets stuck / crashes ? Was it because your Egz got killed ? I'm asking because several people told me that the game crashes "everytime you die" but I can't reproduce it on my side. The only way to crash the game when I die is during this boss level and I've already fixed that (will push the update this week, alongside with other bugfixes). But it works fine when I die in any other level.

You'll get the different Egz randomly everytime you hatch a new Egz. One of my friend even used to kill all his Egz until he gets the Egz he wanted... Their "special abilities" are explained once you get them. But you can totally complete the game with any Egz, except one. But this one is very special and is really hard to get (5% of chance to get him when you hatch a new Egz).

This game can be really hard sometimes, but don't give up ! There are plenty of things to discover :)

Argh I just died for a stupid reason. I was wanting to post here, sat down at my PC and just had my iPad running the game unattended next to me. Timer was running and sure enough ... :(
Ah well, such is life and death ;)

Thanks all, for responding with so much good information! It is much appreciated!
I really like the core game, the physics, the visuals, the levels, but I'm not a fan of the xp/grind/upgrades/health/death/revive implementation. Now I received tips and explanations here and understand the system better, it gets better, but it still influences my enjoyment in the core game play, that is playing the levels.

What/where are these mini-games where I can earn xp?

The hidden bonuses that are mentioned in tips between levels, are just bonuses that are "hidden" in far corners of the screens or is there more to it?

Why would I want to get rid of a tomb? Are there more egz then tomb slots? I have 5 tomb slots and 5 egz. If this is important to the game, then it definitely deserves better in-game explanation.
    Bernard: flinger with no capability
Henry: flinger with protective bubble capability
    Zeggy: flinger with sticky capability
    Zop: rocket flyer
    Ziggy: don't recall

The crashes happen in the boss level of chapter 1 when I'm being attacked by the pustules at the bottom. I'm not dying (I think) because I'm fully upgraded and have full health. See image.

    Change requests:
    - Start the timer on first touch (so I won't die leaving the game unattended :D)
    - Don't die when timer runs out, but just restart the level (death is really a severe punishment)
    - Replay button (already mentioned)
    - Do not punish dying with losing xp (dying is already will cost me enough as it is)
    - Do not punish leaving a level with losing xp (why would you?)
    - Earn more xp during first play through (1 or 2 xp only, so too much grind needed currently)
    - A way to zoom out (a "quick preview" button already would be nice)
    - The whole "eco-system" of egz, xp, death, tombs, revival, needs better explanation
    - Make revival cheaper than 15 xp (the max) or allow to accumulate more xp than the current 15 max

    Bugs:
    - All GC chapter leaderboards show the score of chapter 1 (and the Overall is not the sum of all chapters).
    - The star count is not correct. On first world I have 26 stars, but the screen says 27.
    - The main screen says I have 27/30 on chapter 1, but I only miss one star (I have 2*'s on 1-7). See image (only have played Ch.1).
    - I got to a "get rid of a tomb!" screen, and there is no way to get out of it (I forced quit and played on)
    - I got redirected to the egz revival screen because I died, I now have (the living) egz Zop in front of me and have xp points and the +- bars invite me to use them (they are "blinking") but when trying to use, they say I cannot (xp bar "says no")
    - [localization] GC says "Monde", not Chapter (or World ;))
    - "cuttier" should be "cuter"
    - "one of the previous tip might be wrong" should say "tips" (plural)

... images will follow [edit: images added]

Update fixes crashes as well as now enables people to play with iOS 8.1 and above. Very solid action puzzler.

Hey DonnyDJ76, thanks for spreading the news :)

I'm glad to learn that GC works fine now !

I'm already working on the next update. There are still several crashes that I'm aware of but I didn't have enough time to fix them in the previous update.

By the way, I'm also planning on adding new content to the game. I'm already thinking about some kind of "Time Trial Mode" where your Egz would be invincible and you'd have to reach the end before X seconds. Or something else like "Objective Modes" where you'd have to complete several objectives, like "Finish this level in less than 3 Jumps", or "Don't lose more than XXX health point".

Do you have any other idea that would work ?
