Hi! I'm the game designer on Eggggg, an upcoming platformer where you propel yourself around using vomit. Killscreen wrote a very cool feature on it a couple of weeks ago. Eggggg is a frantic two-touch platformer, and any action results in a lot of puking. The game is inspired by platforming adventures like the Super Mario-series, where the world is full of secrets and nooks and crannies to explore. Creating a great control scheme for a platformer on mobile was tough, but we've created one that is simple with a lot of character control. Eggggg has lots of hand-crafted levels in several different worlds, each with their own mechanics and visuals. We try to respect the players' time and want to have fewer levels that all feel unique and interesting, rather than 100s of levels that feel like more of the same. Each level has several collectables and a super secret item to collect, which again unlocks tougher challenges and secret levels. The game is a collaboration between us, Hyper Games, and the super talented Spanish illustrators Brosmind. They did an amazing job with the visuals and the overall universe, and it's been a real joy making it come alive, and then covering it all with puke It's been a lot of fun working on a project where you have important discussions over puke-directions, and pretty much all the concept art for the project makes you laugh out loud. We're currently in soft-launch with an early version in Norway, but we're launching an expanded version internationally later this year. We would love to hear feedback from you guys, and if anyone is interested in beta-testing send me a PM!
Giant walking beefcake, puke launcher and egg throwing chicken mechs, what's not to like here? Instabuy!
Thanks for all the kind words guys, it means a lot! MitchG, hope you can stomach the cartoon puke! Finding the fine line between disgusting and cute has been a challenge, and there have been many discussions at the office that I thought I would never have in a professional setting, but I hope we've managed to strike the balance. At the office we're all fiercely competitive when it comes to games, and we wanted to bring that mentality into Eggggg. Platformers traditionally haven't been about competition between players, but recently speed runs have become very popular, so we've designed our levels with speedrunning in mind, and added features to help players challenge their friends! The coolest feature is the "ghost" feature, that displays a "ghost" of your best time on the level, or your friend's best time. Check it out in the video below, the white and transparent character is your previous playthrough: On each level screen we prominently display your best completion time, and on the end screen you will be able to "challenge a friend" with your best time. We also have global settings to toggle showing time and ghosts. Sometimes you just want to enjoy the game and explore the levels at their own pace! Thanks for the interest, and once again, if you're interested in betatesting send me a PM!
hello Krisjet, You guys have cleverly made something so utterly gross, and turned it into a absolutely fun and cute game... instant buy. I maybe wrong, but I really like the Adventure Time inspired artwork, it is fantastic, full of rich, vibrant colors. Please tell me (fingers crossed) this will be released under a premium pricing strategy?
Premium Hey new_ipodtouch, I'm part of the dev.team too, and can confirm that we're going for a premium model for this game Thanks for your feedback! The art is done by Brosmind who's been rocking this style since long before Adventure Time existed
This looks great, the art style is similar to Adventure Time . Definitely worth a try when this comes out. Great work guys, keep them fresh things coming.
Making puke sound good A little update! Our sound designer posted this blog post about the process of making sound effects for Eggggg. He made almost all the effects using his own mouth, and it sounds really great (in my very biased opinion)
Trailer! We just released the trailer for Eggggg, showing off some more gameplay and some of the new levels. We're aiming for worldwide release on the 20th of October on iOS!
Love this, looks great. As someone else mentioned, the artwork also reminds me of Adventure Time.Looking forward to this.
Ooooooo, reminds me of a great game called Spewer. I love the artwork of this, and the open level design with bosses looks fantastic!!
This game is absolutely fun and unique. I laughed out loud the whole First level. I love this game. I hope upgrades are implemented
Release tomorrow! Tomorrow we're pulling the trigger and releasing in all territories on iOS! The whole team is super excited to see the game finally released into the wild! If you like what you've seen make sure to pick it up tomorrow Here's a video showing the start of level 15, one of our weirdest levels: It's been a super fun project to work on, and the whole team would love to do more content for it. Hope I get the chance to make some more fun and challenging levels
