Trust me, Mobigame would much rather this ordeal be over.

Edge Games was founded in California in 1990 by Tim Langdell, also know as the lowest form of life. - wikipedia

[email protected] - you could try this but you would probably get sued for some stupid reason. You are unlikely to get a reply as well so I would aim for Tim Langdell.

you know, i wasnt going to buy this game because i had a frustrating experience with the lite version, but at this point, It's beginning to seem like its my duty as a gamer to give Mobigames my money to help them in their struggle over this. Will do so the next time the game goes up.

We should all include the word 'edge' in every post we make from now on, even if it's totally apart from our comment post.

    -Edge

Guys I have an idea. I'm thinking that Tim Langdell's claims only apply in the U.S (it is a US patent after all). I think this because as far as I know, EDGE never left the Australian iTunes Store. (or the New Zealand one, for that matter)

But seriously, will someone please just murder this bastard?

The makers of Edge should just change the name and end this. Its one thing to fight it(which they did) but common enough is enough they are basically fighting Apple(who for some reason sides with Langdell) too and considering its Apple's appstore the chances of them winning are slim.

Just change the name and start selling again. Don't include the word Edge, there are other words in the dictionary. I'm sure this Langdell a**hole is laughing his ass off at all the trouble he caused just by being a prick and he's only gonna keep laughing, whining and filing suits unless Edge is called something totally different from the word Edge.

The only problem is if he gets away with it, there's not much stopping another dickhead coming along and starting again with a new word.

you got a point, but I think that Apple has become part of the problem, and its their store so unfortunately the chances of Mobigame winning the fight is slim. Maybe if a huge amount of people blasted Apple for basically siding with the Langdell guy something might come out of it. But Apple doesn't wanna deal with these legal issues, their simple solution is to suggest that the name be changed to not include "edge"

You've got a point, but I don't think Apple sides with Tim, they're just trying to avoid trouble, and I don't think they can really do anything but watch until Langdell and the dev have stopped fighting.

But this is a too good example why it shouldn't be possible to trademark a common word.

It's easier to attack an indie dev who hasn't got hundreds of thousands/millions (assumably). I think that companies like EA could get pretty good lawyers etc.

    Nice picture, though.

ok so it seems that since the title includes more than the word "edge" its okay. Maybe they should title the game "Onedge" or "On the edge" or "Edgehang" Its obvious Mobigame is teasing them by making titles like "Edgy" or "Edge by Mobigame" trying to stick it to the Langdell guy.

Just add to the title or change the name completely and everyone already knows that this Langdell guy is one of the biggest ass**les in the gaming industry.

They should name it EDGETIMSUCKS. Then if he complains tell him it's one word, not three, and he doesn't have it trademarked.
