Click a slot and click your own name, then the race you want to play. You may have to change out what race an AI is playing if you want to play that race.
Instead of only adding AIs tap on 'New Player' once, create a new player account, choose a race and you should then see your name next to your AI opponents. Hit start and enjoy! edit: Plynx was quicker
I love you guys. Bought it this morning and got a good tutorial about just what a dummy I am. You guys are the BEST!! THANKS HEAPS!!
You set one player as yourself and the rest as AIs. Start Game -> Local Game -> tap on any player outline -> select your player from the list
Many thanks! Played my first game and love it!! Got beaten of course but the tutorial is very helpful. Great atmospheric music and and terrific strategy and graphics. Congratulations on a great launch and release and very reasonable price.
There are still AI bugs that need to be ironed out. Last round of game, it kept on crashing on attempting to open game, I finally had to give up and start another. The hard part is that it was going to be my first win. Arrrggh.
This is a very different game. It's the essence of 4X distilled down into 9 rounds of resource management, with quasi worker-placement mechanics. I wouldn't recommend comparing it to Starbase Orion, but if you love 4X then you might enjoy this very quick, streamlined version of that genre.
Ok not sure if this has been discussed but I've got a "bug" from a multiplayer game. The guy, on round 4, overspent by a solid 13-14 influence. Destroyed my two main systems and essentially cooked me. Then at turn end he simply kept his resources in the bank and ended the turn with zero systems under his control. Shouldn't he be toast? Next turn he just took an Influence action and reclaimed the best systems with what was in the bank. You can continue playing with nothing under your control after overspending by a factor of 3-4? Why doesn't going bankrupt force you to lose your banked materials/money's/science?
Yep, you can And if you still have ships left, you can claim new sectors and 're-start' If you don't have any ships, you can still play and just invest everything into research and gain few more points this way.
So as long as you have a single ship you can spend as much as you like without fear of bankruptcy ? Is that pretty much it? The guy I was playing against said in the board game he'd be dead. Are the rules different from iOS to tabletop?
No, you have to overspend exactly as much to as the number of sectors you control. There's also a bug which cause your income not to drop, when you lose you Money producing planets while going bankrupt, so maybe this was the case?
Sorry if it's been cleared up already, but could you tell me how does this work on the iPad1? I can deal with occasional slowdowns if it's playable, but I don't want crashes. Burned with this a lot, last time with Summoner Wars and Amber Route. Thanks in advance.
Yes, it works on iPad 1 and you shouldn't have too many low memory crashes. You can also turn off the background graphics to have the game run a bit faster and consume less memory.
Congratulations on 5 stars review from TA, game more than deserves it, even though I still find it difficult
Is ths really as extraordinary as it's being claimed to be? 4X games are one of my favourite genres, and lost half my childhood to Masters of Orion alone.
I loved MOO and I love this game. A little different though. This is more streamlined, only 9 rounds, limited moves per round so you have to plan differently than something like MOO. Once you wrap your head around some of the concepts it will get better. It takes a while, but you keep wanting to come back to it.
