Hey TA! We are Alchimia Studios and we have our upcoming debut game "Echoes of Aeons" to show you today. Our Studio of 2 has been hard at work on this since October of 2011. We don't have a concrete release date yet, but it will likely be late 2013. Echoes of Aeons will be be released for both iPhone and iPad in addition to other platforms. The game is being published by Crescent Moon Games. Echoes of Aeons was inspired by many classic JRPG's such as the Tales series, Final Fantasy, Mana Series, and many others. The art style was influenced by Miyazaki films and many artists and games. The game will follow Eldric and Rin on an epic action adventure spanning multiple worlds. Get lost in the rich lore of the worlds and watch the story unfold through cut-scenes, a cast of unlikely heroes, and the wonderful emotion driven soundtrack! EoA will follow Eldric a young man that was orphaned in his youth unknown to him that he is one of the Descended, and Rin the daughter Heir to the throne of Lusec, a peaceful nation on the brink of war due to lies and treachery with the nation known as Caldari. As they get thrown into the chaos that is brewing in Terra, their fates eventually cross and they must overcome all obstacles as they learn who is really pulling the strings in their world, and that the fate of not only Terra, but of an unknown world lost to the ages is riding on their shoulders. www.alchimiastudios.com Features: - On the fly character switching, this allows you to switch mid fight and continue combos and spells with another character! - Crafting, Minigames, and more! - Epic storyline featuring hours and hours of gameplay! - Combo "unleashing" - Customizable controls - Gorgeous handpainted graphics with advanced 2d techniques. Wow... Looks gorgeous. Just shared this thread over with my follower on Google+. Impressive work and I look forward to it going live on the market.
Thanks! That's awesome you shared it. Glad to hear it! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thought'd i'd drop in some more art. Here is a city, not quite production ready. This is the city where the frog race "Qworthians" live. They are actually one of the most technologically advanced races in our game. A Desoraptor. Enemy unit from our unreleased as of yet desert zone:
Hey TA. We swapped out our video for a shorter more concise one, so check that out. Also here are some in game assets. The whelpling is a pet, the sword and daggers belong to Eldric and Rin, our main characters. And the Dragon's Tear Gem is an equipable item. Expect a video soon with these animated and in game.
So freaking excited about this. It looks kind of like dungeon hunter 2 mixed with aralon. How much is it going to cost? And how much space will it take up?
Thanks! Space wise, we can only guess right now, but we estimate it will be on the large side for a 2d game (375mb+). This is because it is a long game in a huge world(s), with a ton of images. Once we get close to launch we'll have more information on price point.
There can never been enough RPGs on the app store. The game concept and artwork looks pretty good, interesting to see how this one pans out.
Love the look of this, shame its not non-linear though. But love the graphics and the controls seem to work very well. I'll be getting this for sure when its out one day. Looks great, congrats
It does not look like our funding will be successful, so it will take us anywhere from 8-12 months to see this completely finished, since we only have 2 full time people on the team not counting our composer. This is not your average iOS RPG. Everything is hand painted from scratch, no reused assets, with a full and involving story. RPG gamers will not be disappointed! Stay tuned for livestream sessions with our artists, with live Q & A Thanks for your interest! -Jordan Alchimia Studios
Good luck with the release, I am looking forward to this one and am disappointed to hear about funding problems.
While the game will be mostly linear, it will have non-linear elements to it, specifically the side quests. There will be a point in the game when you can branch off and do optional side quests, they will not be fetch quests, but actual mini story driven quests. Much in the same way that classic RPG's like FF7, Chrono Trigger, etc did. Thanks for your questions and kind words! -Jordan Alchimia Studios
Aw disappointed to hear about the funding... Hopefully you get right back on track. This looks very promising. Good luck on the project, will be following it to see how it plays out. If it suddenly comes out on the appstore, it's a day one purchase from me.
Just wanted to let you guys know... We are moving full steam ahead (as fast as two of us can go). In the time since our unsuccessful funding we have made a ton of progress and the game is really starting to come together. The battle system is coming along quite nicely and we have built the foundations for the spell weaving system. In addition we've added some mechanics to the melee that sort of came to us during the creation process (something we haven't seen before in anything out currently). We also have some great real-time animation techniques we've polished that will only add to the art style. We hope to have some new footage to show off in the near future of these things. For now here is a few of the many enemies we've got painted up.
I'm completely looking forward to this game as an RPG fan. Beautiful graphics, great art so far! I hope the story is just as compelling! My sincerest wishes and luck to you.
Cliffore, Thank you for the kind words! I can promise that the story will not disappoint! This game is focused around storytelling just like the Final Fantasy series, this is not your average iOS RPG clone. You will find no pointless gathering/kill x amount of mobs quests in this game. nothing has been done like this for the platform yet! I just want to mention that we will be hosting a Livestream session tomorrow Saturday September 29th at 1 p.m. MST. We will be painting some of the scenes from the game and answering questions that you have! Jordan Alchimia Studios
