Sweet! Only bought Hot Pursuit of the NFS series, and now it looks like I'll get the other 2 free (UC and S2). Plus Undercover looked like it might be a ton of fun. Either way, can't wait!
EA is definitely making Gameloft look bad. Aside from NFS: Hot Pursuit, NFS: Undercover is the only other NFS game worth getting on the iOS. Both Shift games are appallingly bad.
Well, Shift 1 was just. The worst racing game ever made. Anyone who disagrees with this must be impressed VERY easily. Shift 2 improved a lot in terms of turning of assists, improving some terrible gameplay aspects of Shift 1, and more. However, Shift 2 is still lacking in many areas and when compared to other arcade racers in the App Store such as Asphalt 6. And obviously, nothing pales in comparison to the Real Racing franchise.
Need for speed undercover (international) is free now. The us copy takes longer to reflect...strange. App info is currently processing and/or the app is not yet fully available for sale on the US App Store.
There is a difference between the word 'FREE' and 'FREEMIUM' Free game is COMPLETELY free. Where else Freemium games are free to install but for certain features you need to do IAP. This is well known fact.
I like Asphalt 6, but it's not spectacular by any means. It's Gameloft, so it feels like an empty shell of a game (to me). the physics are crap, it's glitchy, and it is repetitive. I'm not a fan of realistic games like Real Racing, so that appears to be where our major point of contention lies.
While I definitely prefer realistic games, I still give credit to arcade racers, and I think our main differences is with graphics vs gameplay. Gameloft definitely has worse graphics, and their games definitely pale in comparison to EA's. EA's is just so much more sleeker, and their graphics are a huge plus of their games. However, Shift's gameplay is just not as great, and I feel like one of the biggest aspects of an arcade racer (or any game, for that matter) is gameplay. To me, graphics never trumps gameplay.
U.S time zones are behind Asia and Europe etc.. We all learn this in geography class. The iTunes Appstore servers register all of your app purchases/downloads of your accounts. This is for the purpose of future verification with the receipts of what you have download free or purchased. (Exact time and exact date) Thus, users who downloaded the app/game after it went free on the stamped date and time, cannot demand for a refund and lie that they bought the game before it went free. The iTunes appstore is not global. Rather, different appstores servers serve different countries. U.S. Appstore obviously follows U.S. time zone. Take for example, Infinity Blade II debuted first on the New zealand, Japan, australia appstores before it hit U.S. appstore hours later. i can go on explaining but i think you get the point.
He's been here for over 2 years, I'm pretty sure he knows. What I think he meant to say is that it is weird how freebies are usually done world wide, and this one isn't.
Freebies can go one of two ways - set by date in which case it follows the International Dateline and turns free when an area becomes that date OR a worldwide one time switch where the app is free when the dev says so. Same as with app releases. Set dates or on approval and out at the same time all across the world. Difficult to comprehend? Didn't think so. Back on topic - of if the bickering can't stop the thread will be closed. This should be a good and HAPPY thread. So far mods have had to stop arguments in just about every freebie thread today.
It's listed as FREE now on the U.S. appstore. However when i try to download it, it says 'the item bla blah blah is not available' yet...
Need for Speed isn't free for me on the App Store as of yet (US App Store). Although EA's next daily deal starts at at 9:00am Pacific Standard Time(12:00pm US Eastern Time). So we'll see what happens.
High Caliber Hunting is now free (although it seems to be unavailable in my app store). http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/high-caliber-hunting/id400312667?mt=8
