After reading modus_ataraxia's experience I'm suddenly glad this crap is not available in my country.
The Tiger Woods games should come to iOS as premium versions...

That's the thing, I was having a lot of fun before that. When you get into high B rank, the players who got lucky in their lotto pulls start showing up. Trying to work my way up through B++ was really grating on me, and it started sucking the fun out of the game that I had before. That particular example was just the one that sent me over the edge. It was my third promotion attempt.

If you can stomach that kind of thing in a game, there's a lot of fun to be had. But that example was clearly P2W, which is where I get off the ride. Had this been a $10 premium game with proper balance, I would still be playing, probably even more. Too bad, eh?

How is the single player campaign?

The single player campaign has the potential to be enjoyable, but it is mired in dumb and sometimes confusing RPG elements, so gameplay is often interrupted by childish characters who make demands/suggestions to purchase various types of clothing that will magically imbue the player with greater skills. I've put several hours into this game, trying my best to wade through the RPG distractions while attempting to fathom how to proceed in the single player campaign which is often baffling and far from intuitive in its progression. It is obvious that a lot of creative talent and effort went into this game's development, but the developers have missed an opportunity to produce a golf game that is accessible and fun.

You get about 36 courses (plus hard modes) before you'll probably get stuck behind a "45 medal wall" that requires you to shoot birdies on courses that you can't drive far enough on without lotto gear.

Yeah but you get lotto currency as you win your way up those 36 courses in campaign mode. There's a good bit of free content if you just want to play by yourself.

It's out in the uk now but I'm feeling slightly less enthusiastic about it now having read the recent comments.

I really don't know why there isn't a decent premium golf game on iOS.

I was really looking forward to this golf game but now that it is here I am disappointed. The golf mechanics seem fine but there is so much stuff around it that distracts. There are many different kinds of points: CP, PP, magical stones,... And then there is lotto and boxed lotto and equipment that you can fuse. I just want to play golf! I'll go back to waiting for Golden Tee. Sigh.

afyzendo, I agree 100% with your post. This was a missed opportunity on the part of the developer to create an easily accessible and commercially successful golf game that could have appealed to iDevice owners of all ages. Instead, it may hold appeal only to young players who enjoy role playing games more than golfing.
