I'm so stoked to think that a solid version of SSX could arrive on the iPhone. I can't wait to hear more news about it
Tenacity. You hold quite a fervently dogmatic view about the probability/lack thereof for a major hardware upgrade. Time alone will tell. I prefer to entertain the possibilities until there is adequate information to hold allegiance to any side. And, Apple's trajectory may be far ahead of where we focus. Thus, a major update for consumers may not be such a large bump in their more long-term game plan. The hardware components are out there/will be soon, and the potential to embrace another echelon of gaming harkens at the door. In a few months time, we will know better whether Apple chooses to bite...
OMG. I seriously cannot wait for Madden. I currently have it for my 360 and probably the most played game on there. EA if you're reading this, please release that game ASAP (without bugs and with smooth framerate of course).
Made my week This is great news for the future of iDevice gaming! Now that EA has stepped up to the plate, I foresee many more big developers making games. All we need is a nice hardware upgrade so these games are actually possible. I'm a little nervous that if games like Let's Golf and Aqua Moto Racing are the limit of the current iDevices, then the graphics in Need for Speed and SSX would need to be greatly simplified to fit the platform. These rumors of multi-core processors and a premium game section seem more legit every day...
I wonder what are all of your thoughts on all of the 14 games announced for the iPhone/iPod Touch by EA Mobile :-D
Why does the story on the front page of TA regarding this announcement regard the reports as discrepant? IGN, STP, and iPGN are all reporting the same thing. In fact, iPGN has a live-blog post up of the actual event: http://www.iphonegamenetwork.com/gdc-live-blog-ea-moblile Craig of EA Mobile on Twitter: Craig linked to, and validated the iPGN information 23 hours ago. http://twitter.com/eamobile
I got a different list from EA. And I asked Craig, he said he wasn't sure about SSX and would have to check. IGN mentions SSX but their "full list" doesn't include it. http://wireless.ign.com/articles/965/965675p1.html Like I said, I think the list is right (including SSX), but there was some confusion from my side. Unfortunately I wasn't at the event. arn
thanks the clarification arn! I know a bunch of these games are early or probably have yet to start development, but was there any mention of any media forthcoming from EA Mobile on games other than Tiger and Trivial Pursuit???
I don't think so. My understanding is that it was just a big slide shown with the names of all these games on it. So no details at all. arn
I've been dyeing for a good SSX game since SSX 3! On Tour was a decent game to kill the time, Blur was a complete disaster (even if I played all the way though it, and learned to do the insanely hard uber-tricks, just waiting for a new SSX GAME!)
On my media email from EA it stated 14 games that been confirmed, which didn't include SSX and NBA Live, but I believe they are both also confirmed so it is actually 16 games
A look at what could be: videos of these announced games running on the PSP/ PS2 to see what's just out of reach for the iPhone. Hopefully the overall feel will be intact even with considerable scalebacks. SSX
If this is true, then I'm going to make sure that I don't buy anything for a while (except Star Defense and Livefire)... I think that the DS is a good predictor of what they can do on the iPhone. The only drawback may be the controls. Some of these seem impossible without a real controller. Also, does anybody think that the friction in Tiger Woods is way too high? Maybe it's just me but it seems like the ball hits the ground and stops almost immediately.
