I must reply to this... While Gameloft did contripute much to iDevice gaming with their quality games, they didn't do anything new. On the other hang, Chillingo helped lots of indie developers get successful, helping in this platform becoming the most "indie-friendly" platform.
They didn't do anything new, but made games that were damn near ports (or rip-offs as some would say) of the great games we love and enjoy on both handheld and console systems alike. And for this reason, I voted Gameloft.
This is something different to me... They might make good games, but I simply can't respect or even call good a company who has little to no creativity, only rips off other's ideas.
Fair enough. I don't applaud them for their creativity. I Applaud them for giving me things I want since the original ideas can't really come over to the iPhone side.
You're right in a way. I'd rather wait for the official ports of games (for example GTA wipes the floor with the GL copy), and while they aren't here, I just support indie devs. I like them more anyway.
That's all I'm saying brah. Like I said, I only like Gameloft because they give me what I want. If the original idea were to come out, take youre example of GTA, of course I am going to get that. It would obviously be miles better. If God of War came out for the iPhone, would I ever play Hero of Sparta again? F*ck no. If a good Resident Evil port came out, would I ever play Zombie Infection again? Most likely not. But these kind of games arnt the only ones I enjoy, as I too love the indie dev's games. I am a passionate gamer, and if a game is good I will play it. If it's a rip-off and there is no other original to fight back, I am going to play the rip-off. This pretty much only exists with the iPhone games though of course. I hated Dante's Inferno cause it felt like such a trash rip-off to the God of War series. But that is a whole 'nother argument there lol.
I liked Dante's Inferno. It obviously took from God of War (although it bears similarity to games that existed before GoW too) but the subject matter fascinated me so I was able to look past that.
Of course God of War isn't the first of it's kind, but it kind of set the standard (at least for me) with the genre. Dante's Inferno just didn't do it for me. I borrowed it from the bro-in-law and it just... well didn't do it for me. lol I think it might have been because I have read the Divine Comedy, and... well it had nothing to do with anything of that nature. lol
Damn straight. Listened to it this morning, along with some Unanimated, Death, and Athiest. Edit: Pardon everyone on this thread. I have a habbit of getting off topic involving music. I am teh musik troll.
