That was UStream's fault not Nintendo. I ended up watching the UK steam as that was lagfree for the most part.
I think it can go both ways. It can sometimes be a load of sheep just shouting whatever they heard from the last person (like whenever anybody is accused of a crime on Twitter), but it can also be a good way for people to make their voices heard over things that matter to them. It's just my opinion here, but I think we're leaning more to the latter on this. If MS had only screwed up a small amount then I'd accuse people of being sheep, but to have both events go so horribly wrong just makes you think... maybe it is JUST Microsoft's fault this time. They had a chance to seriously control and restrict how we game in the future, and nobody genuinely wants that to happen. When I read what the Sony guys thought about the Twitter #NoDRM campaign it gave me an impression of passionate and worried gamers rather than people who just wanted to hate on the Xbox One (I also tweeted): "I was personally overwhelmed with the massive explosion on Twitter, with everyone essentially begging, ‘Please don’t do this Sony, please don’t do this PlayStation!’" There was never a more appropriate time to use the ol' "And not a single <curse word> was given" phrase than when this was announced.
This is pretty cool, doesn't make me want to rush out and buy the PS Eye, but a neat tech demo: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
http://i.minus.com/i59yXniSzNxb7.gif One of the funniest Sony vs. Microsoft GIFs ever, I'm pretty sure. Sorry if it's old. http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/12/gamers-without-internet-can-stick-with-xbox-360-says-microsoft Lol. What a douchebag. It's comments like those that make me realize how much I really don't want to take part in the next generation of games -sigh- Guess I'll stick with my nasty Wii U for the time being.
I might not be able to go to best buy I just drove buy and saw the massive lineup It starts in over an hour This is gonna be fun........
You know those comments are really only coming from one company and there's a decent alternative, right?
I don't think that convinces me to get a wiiU. In all honesty, GOW does that kind of action better in my opinion.
Bayonetta 2 might be decent, but the first game was just "decent". I didn't bother finishing it. The combat wasn't fluid enough in light of Ninja Gaiden 2.
Now that I've had a few days to digest the news that came out on Monday, I've had a bit of a revelation: I am an Xbox 360 user, and I was an Xbox user before that. I have never owned a Playstation console before, and my only experience with one was playing a bit of Gran Turismo on my brother's PS1 more than 12 years ago. Now, it goes without saying, that Microsoft screwed this week up royally, and Sony handled their announcement perfectly. After Monday, I kept thinking about what this will mean for me going forward? Do I stay loyal to MS and get the Xbox One and risk getting a console that will be as popular as the Wii U, which could shrink the life span of the system and possibly limit how many third party games come to the system if the PS/Xbox marketshare split swings too heavily to the Playstation? Do I get the Playstation 4, which will likely "win" the holiday shopping season, have a better shot of being a longer lasting platform, but one that I don't have friends playing on and I don't have experience (or gamer score) with? Do I switch to the PC, now that I have a desktop machine capable of playing modern games like Battlefield 3 at ultra settings? However, this morning I had an epiphany. What if I already had my "next gen" console, the device that will replace my Xbox? What if its my iPad? Now obviously, I already play games on my iPad. Clearly I do; I participate in a forum about mobile game for goodness sake. But the one genre of gaming that has kept me tied to my Xbox has been first person shooters. True, the iPad has them too with games like Modern Combat and N.O.V.A., but as much as I hate to admit it, touch screens are not good for first person shooters (at least for me, obviously a lot of you will disagree given how popular both threads are here). But with Monday's annoucement at WWDC that iOS 7 will include official game controller support, first person shooters could become a lot more playable for me. Plus it would free the device up to just be mirrored to my TV via the Apple TV. The more I think about it, the more I think that I will just not get a console this generation. Stick with my PC and iPad.
This is the real Wii U standout ( for me at least) It shows 3rd party devs have been lazy with the Wii U Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Well sure, but you'll miss out on hundreds of games. If you're simply not interested in playing the latest and greatest then it's no big deal, but if you are then you'll probably need more than just an iPad. It's not really like purchasing a car, where you just find the one that suits you most and stick with it, games are spread all over the place... most gamers will be looking to score as many as they can.
