Brand loyalty? I'm actually genuinely interested in any reason someone could see the Xbox One's lengthy list of negative aspects as positive. Exclusives don't matter at all, I barely paid attention to them on either side. All I know is that in six years time, both consoles will have several hundred multiplatform titles alone, and I plan to own as many of the good ones as possible, on the best system.
Wait a second, they are showing off trailers on youtube for games they didn't discuss and the software showcase is latter today. Maybe ( its a long shot) more games might be announced for WiiU and those were just to get our attention?
Only positive aspect : Forza 5 . I've owned every one since the first. Never really liked GT with 75+ skylines that all look the same. If I get a console, it would be Xbox One because of Forza unless drive club is really good with tons of cars
I don't like many of Nintendo's first-party games, but I enjoyed the E3 Direct. Then again, Sony's lack of support for the Vita is still fresh on my mind.
Can anyone tell me was there anything about EA Sports Games? More specifically FIFA 13? I love Ultimate Team.
Unfortunately I think Nintendo is just trying to get as many games out as they can and a new Zelda or Metroid just takes a lot of time to make. I am sure they are working on those but it will be a few years. I was definitely disappointed that Retro was working on another DK game. I feel like they needed a longer gap between those games although it makes sense since they did the 3DS port so it was bound to happen. Any other game like Fzero, Star Fox, Metroid, Zelda would have been a big boost for WiiU I think Nintendo really hurt themselves and had a big chance to gain some more confidence for the WiiU.
I don't think DriveClub is going for that many cars really. I loved Forza 3, then 4 just wasn't enough of a departure and Horizon bored me. The fact Forza 5 requires a constant online connection, even for single player just confirms to me that the series is on a downhill path. DriveClub really seems to be aiming itself at car enthusiasts though, rather than people who "just" like racing games. That's a good thing in my book. It did make me laugh though. The Turn10 guy was talking about how cloud computing will make the AI smart enough so that it feels like you're racing real human opponents. Hmm... an internet connection and human opponents, where have I heard that before?
I've given up on Nintendo. And honestly thought gameplay-wise Microsoft had the best presentation, BUT then Sony killed it with the whole used game/not having to be online thing. I don't know. I favored the 360 over the PS3, but some of these decisions are going to hurt MS. However, I think the used game thing still could be controlled more at the publisher level even on the PS4. With companies like EA already charging for online play if you don't buy a game new, it could be a moot point.
I still wouldn't be surprised if they or other companies figure out a way to add some sort of surcharge for used games. It's the publishers who have been pushing hard against used games since they stand the most to lose. Even MS says they won't benefit financially from it.
Square-Enix have just announced that Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3 are also coming to Xbox One.
While Nintendo didn't have a good showing this trailer does show that the Wii U can support a great looking game Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
IGN reported today that on the PS4, it will also be up to publishers for how they deal with used games so in reality it's no different than what MS has stated. Not sure about the whole "loan" to a friend thing works but the policy on used sales doesn't sound any different despite the audience enthusiasm during Sony's presentation.
This sounds more or less like "some games will have online passes", which is how things are right now. Sony also released that brilliant video on how easy it is to load a game to a friend, I don't think they'd have hit quite so hard at Microsoft if you couldn't actually do that.
