Mario 3d world wind waker hd Mario kart dkc tropic freeze I was very luck in that I came at the best time possible and only had to wait 20 minutes in line each time to play and got to play them all.
3D Mario was Fun but multiplayer was unfocused and not quite nailed down yet. New mechanics are interesting and the cat suit allows new game play elements.not possible before. It seems to be a blend of NSMB, Mario 3d Land, Super Mario Bros 2 ( USA version) with some elements from other 3d Mario games. Gamepad features include off tv play, hint detector , level map and more. The rep hinted that there would be an online level editor but could not confirm it. DKC Tropical freeze looked awesome. It played well and was hard. The good and fun kind of hard. The soundtrack is amazing. I asked the rep about possible online co op in these two games and he just smiled and said stay tuned. The legend of zelda the wind waker hd. It looks a lot better, the gameplay seems faster but still 30 fps. There seems to be quite a few small tweaks here and there. Gameepad features include off tv play, a second inventory screen, ingame info and more Finally Mario Kart 8 The best looking game here ( though 3D world also looks good.) The visuals are amazing but gameplay is just insane. The person in front of me played for two minutes stopped for a second and said he just played the best mario kart ever. And I agree, its better than all the previous games in the series and I cannot emphasize just how much of a leap forward it is. Gamepad features include off tv play, motion sensor controls, using the touch screen as a horn, and having stats on the left side of the screen. You can turn off motion sensor controls. Alternatively you can use the gamepad to show a map of the track. You can also use the Wii motion plus as a controller This will be a killer app for Wii U. The rep kept emphasizing that the games are not in their final form and that there can and will be changes, DKC doesn't have gamepad or pro controller support yet but will (Wii nunchuck and Wii motion plus at the moment) and Mario kart 8 will have pro controller support. The reps implied more changes might come.
All great things to hear I would be happier if you had compared to 3D World to New Super Mario Bros. 2 and the Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2, but a Mario game is a Mario game, and I have loved each 3DS one thus far. I'm sure this will be no different AHHHHHH! So glad to hear the good feedback on Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze. If you've played Donkey Kong Country Returns on the Wii (or heck, even 3DS ), how does it compare to that one? Thank goodness they will be adding support for a regular controller eventually. At least, I hope that's what you meant by that. I just don't like playing those kinds of games with the Wiimote and Nunchuk. Sideways Wiimote or Classic Controller, or bust. With some exceptions Mario Kart 8... Yes, yes YES! Personally, I feel like Mario Kart's only misstep was the one on the Wii version. I don't know why... there was something that felt rushed and undercooked with it. But other than that, the games have only gotten better in my opinion, hitting an absolutely gorgeous peak with Mario Kart 7. Gosh I love that game <3 I was a little sad about the lack of the bitesized Challenge mode (or whatever it was called) in Mario Kart DS, but that's a small price to pay when the rest of the game is just... amazing <3 Sounds like they got it right with this one too! Can't wait
I will also add that DKC Tropical Storm is NOT DKCR on steroids as some have said. Rather I think of DKCR as an extended demo for this game, the real DKC game. Its just awesome!
Thanks Gryphon for all of the info on the games!! You got me very very excited wish I had a best buy near me that was participating in this. Can't wait to play MK8!!

Does nobody else find it incredibly depressing that the most exciting game from Nintendo's E3 event is Mario Kart, which has already had 7 iterations and hasn't really changed all that much in 20 years? If you're a Mario Kart fan, you're probably not in the best position to mock Call of Duty any more.
COD has had around 10 iterations since 2005. MK has had 7 since 1996. Mario Kart invented ghost mode. COD invented... Mario Kart 8 has introduced anti gravity playable sections. COD Ghosts has playable dog sections
CoD invented... killstreaks? I'm not 100% on that one specifically, but CoD has definitely brought several new things to the table. They're both just as guilty as each other. What's worse, a game repeating itself for 8 years or a game repeating itself for 21 years? If CoD changes soon, then it's still in less of a rut than Mario Kart is, which will probably never change. Not to mention the last MK worth playing was 64.
Neither am I. I'm not even sure if MK invented ghost mode (I think it did). MK 64 was so epic. Agree that they are both slow moving cash monsters. Nintendo needs a new spark.
And is that it? Alot of nintendo fans on GI and other sites demand new games from old ips. Maybe they are the reason nintendo stagnates worse than capcom. Seriously, if they annouce a new ip, alot of these "true fans" will rage that: "THEY SHOULDN'T WASTE TIME ON A NEW IP! WE WANT A NEW (Insert classic nintendo seresis) GAME INSTEAD OF THIS! THEY ARE ABANDONING THEIR TRUE FANS!" This isn't the majority, I think. But they are pretty vocal.
What looks to be a great addition to one the greatest IP's in existence? Yeah, I'm suicidal here # Seriously, comparing the history of Mario Kart to Call of Duty is just ridiculous! MK has never had more than one entry on a single platform (obviously discounting Virtual Console releases), whereas Call of Duty not only sees annual refreshes on the same system, it's also been whored off onto every possible platform going. NOTE: I am aware that I didn't include the three Mario Kart Arcade games by Namco, but given they were never released on a home system, there's no point in including them.
The other thing with CoD is that my friends who are big into it get super excited for the next version, and then they get it they complain and complain about problem, some of which are long standing and never fixed (especially "quick scoping").
