Just thought I'd make a thread to discuss E3 2011. I can't wait for June 7th! Looking forward to RAGE, Telltale Games and the Project Cafe announcement by Nintendo. What are you guys looking forward to? here's a couple vids to hype us up! Elder Scrolls V Skyrim:
My mate will be in L.A., searching for cool games and cool software house to propose our music and our services to them
I get to go again this year! Yay! Well I'm looking forward to... damn, I don't even know what is going to be at this years e3. Gotta do some research. I definitely want to play the new Nintendo console, but god knows the lines will be hell. Last year, they closed off the 3DS lines hours before closing because there were that many people. I only went one day last year though, hopefully I get to go for all 3 this time.
I couldn't possibly be any more excited for BF3 than I am already. Looking forward to more info on Rage though, hopefully we'll get a few surprise announcements too. It's obvious Nintendo are going to completely own the media hype but I'm gonna tactfully withhold my judgement on that...
I was looking at igns schedule for e3 and they have a bunch of unannounced sequels on the live show. Does anyone know what they might be??
http://ie.games.ign.com/articles/117/1172302p1.html I just realised there are 2 unannounced games and 1 remake aswell. Im guessing theyll be part of the live conferences on monday and tuesday. I was thinking one of the sequels may be either rainbow six or splinter cell as ubisoft would save that for their conference and then show it off on the show. also I think im with a bunch of people who hope for the crazy announcement of Battlefront 3. That would actually pass skyrim in terms of awesomeness.
As the industry has shifted it's focus entirely toward generic FPS (the only genre I absolutely hate) and games with a much stronger focus on story then gameplay my interest in the $60 retail game market has shrunk considerably. That being said I'm looking forward to hearing more about the following: Batman: Arkham City - I skipped over the first one as the whole stealth action thing doesn't really appeal to me but the semi-open world of the sequel looks amazing. Saint's Row The Third - I love this franchise for all the reasons I hated GTA IV. When I'm playing an open world sandbox game I want the ability to freely explore the world before I start playing through the missions. I'll take wackiness, fun and awesome controls over better graphics and story any day. Hawken - It's been years since a decent mech combat game has been made and I've never seen one that looks quite this good. After hearing one of the devs describe the game as a sort of anti-Halo where jumping around like a spastic idiot isn't an option I'm really excited for this one. SSX - It's starting to look like the early fears that this one will be a huge departure from the previous games are unfounded. If they can recapture the magic of SSX3 or even SSX: Tricky I will pick this up for sure. Contra - Shattered Soldier, Rebirth and Contra 4 were all fantastic even if Hard Corps Uprising kind of sucked. This could go ether way, but overall the franchise has had more hits then misses so I'm cautiously optimistic.
