Title explains itself. Who do you think will "win" E3 this year? Will Microsoft take it with Natal, Halo Reach and Fable 3? Sony with the Move, 3D gaming, LBP 2, and the rumored PSP 2? Nintendo with the 3DS and a new Zelda and Metroid game? Let the fighting begin!
Microsoft will hit the hardcore gamers demographic with Natal and Halo. Perhaps not the entire demographic, Sony's got some stakes their too, but they'll probably dominate. Maybe Fable will have role, although I haven't heard much hype surrounding it lately. Game-wise, they do fall a little flat. I haven't heard of any innovative titles lately. Sony is definitely gaining momentum, but maybe not quick enough for this E3, unless they have some tricks up their sleeves. There's been more interest in the versatile Natal then the wonky wand they're proposing, but LBP2 and ModNation Racers won't go unnoticed. I kinda wish I had a PS3 just for those two reasons. Well, three with GoW. Nintendo always targets the more casual market, and of course absolutely dominates portable gaming. Pretty much any game they release featuring whichever proprietary mascot they have from their vast lineup with cause a huge stir. Even if it's just another Mario platformer (SMG 2 doesn't count).
I'm not too excited about anyone really. E3 usually consists of a few almost exciting surprises followed by ugly sweating men trying to make them sound like some kind of futuristic alien technology. Natal and Move are still in the gimmick phase with little evidence of moving past that at any time soon, the 3DS will no doubt excite a few people but then go on to have just as bloated a library as the DS does, and I'm bored of Halo and Fable... there's really nothing there for me. We'll see... Edit: LBP2 will be alright, but I'm not sure it's really evolved enough from the first game, which I'm now bored of... and ModNation sucks, or at least, the beta did.
MS won't win for me, don't care about Halo, Fable, or Natal. Haven't bothered turning on my 360 in awhile ever since the flood of new PS3 titles came out and I probably won't touch it again until Gears 3 comes out. Sony might win if the rumored PSP2 is actually impressive. Not a fan of LBP on consoles, though I did enjoy it on the PSP and I'm a bit worried to hear the ModNation(beta) sucks for the PS3, I played the demo for the PSP and it was so underwhelming. Horrible controls and just boring overall. Not so sure about Nintendo, dont care much for their Wii announcements unless it's a totally epic new Zelda. I'm holding out to see what their 3DS is all about, though I think I'll probably end up skipping it at launch in favor for the PSP2 or maybe a new iPod 4G.
