The Wizard of Dwelp. Oooh, I do like the sound of that. Thanks. I might get that tattooed somewhere.

If you like(d) the challenge of finding the 15 move solution to 77, you might want to try to find a 12 step solution to 95. It's the slowest solution possible connecting dots one at a time. I, the Wizard, have found the secret formula, so you can be sure this solution exists...

Btw, has anybody found the hidden achievement yet? Or have the faintest idea what it could be?

After 4 steps one of the colours is already completely connected.

[level 99] Oh I feel so stupid! I have always been doing a certain step in two steps where one step is possible. In retrospect it looks so obvious!! That's the human mind at work, I guess. Apparently I have been developing some movement patterns that I took for granted and stopped questioning

    Hey guys,

Sorry for being so quiet today! Here's a quick update:

I managed to rewrite the solving algorithm from scratch and, surprise, the new one also gave 6 as the optimal solution for No. 52. Knowing that is not true, I started investigating what went wrong and found out that when fed to the algorithm, 52 wasn't encoded properly. It had an extra character which made it essentially a different puzzle. So it is possible that the first algorithm was working just fine.

Now I still have to figure out what happened with X5. It's been working on it for several hours now and not ready yet, but hopefully by tomorrow it will be done. Tomorrow I am also going to go through all the puzzles again to make sure they were properly encoded and what I have been feeding the algorithm is correct.

@saosijs You are absolutely right! The human mind is working in strange ways indeed. Another example is No. 52. Everyone has solved it in 6 moves (me included - and I did that several times in the past weeks). But as soon as someone told us it can be done in 5, we found the solution very quickly.

@Pantsjo I believe at least one person in this room has earned the hidden achievement (maybe he doesn't know it?). Will he confess? =) If not, I can give you a nudge tomorrow.

@ROGER-NL Here's a hint for X2, in case you want to use it:
Purple should get to 5 in a row, not blue.

I am Dwelpt out, and I mean literally, gonna give up, wish the people on the thread the best and Alex the Developer also.

You can see me on other games, so you are not rid of me yet Ha Ha Ha.

That one person you are referring to, must be Roger, but since he "left the room", I got this achievement too. Once you get a hidden achievement, it doesn't show as hidden anymore, it is just one more achievement amongst others, so I didn't know it was a formerly hidden one. I can see which Pantsjo doesn't have though, and the hint is that it is quite obvious when you play the "early-ish" levels. You must have missed the invitation! :D

@ROGER-NL So sorry to see you go... Thank you for all your kind words and encouragement and congratulations one more time! You got really really far!

@saosijs Awesome hint for the hidden achievement. I couldn't have said it better. Thanks!

Algorithm update: So it seems that my previous code was working fine. However, thanks to Pantsjo's challenge and encouragement, after the rewrite I got myself an algorithm that is working about four times as fast. I have started running all puzzles through the new one. It's almost halfway through and it has yet to find a different optimal solution than those found in the game. We'll see when it's done. Still have to figure out what happened to X5 and will keep you posted.

So I looked at saosijs' achievements and you'd think GameCenter would not show the description of hidden achievements that you yourself haven't got, but it didn't...
So I know what it is, and I did it a couple of times, but never got the achievement. A couple of days ago Roger mentioned it being funny in this thread, so I tried it, and nothing happened and I thought that he thought it was funny that nothing happened, which it kinda is, if you think about it...

GC used not to show that in earlier versions!
Apple is messing up GC a lot. You used to be able to see when all your GC friends last played a certain specific game, then it was gone, now it is back again. Funny things happened with the sort order of the games that a GC friend owns too. It used to be last played listed first, then it was listed last and now it is listed first again (which it should be). And then I'm not talking about frequent sync issues and long outages ... bad apple!

But did you do it on the level that invited you to do it?
(ah I see that Roger didn't learn yet how to use the SPOILER tags :D)

    Hey Pantsjo,

Do you have orientation lock activated on your device? If yes, please turn it off and try again. The element of surprise is obviously gone, but at least you can get the achievement. If it still doesn't work, could you share your device (which iPad) and iOS version?

    Thanks!

PS: I see you've updated your signature =) Awesome!

Sorry if I ruined the surprise Alex, I don't know how to delete posts, but you can delete mine about the achievement.

No worries at all, Roger! I wasn't referring to your post when speaking about the surprise being ruined, but rather to the fact that you shouldn't expect it to happen, so obviously if you know that you have to turn it and expect something to happen, it's not really a surprise anymore. Truth is I should have known it won't work for everybody, but couldn't help it... I had to put it there. =) So, really, no need to feel bad about it at all!

I can't delete other people's posts, but I believe one can edit their own posts, so you probably can edit that one and change it to something like "Post deleted to avoid spoilers" or similar. If it doesn't work, that's ok, don't worry about it.
