Smritip, you don't need the Camping Backpack to do gold farming on level 87. It's my favorite way, but other ways work well too.
I don't think the Azure Backpack is found in the wild... I'm pretty sure you need to forge up to it (see page 28 of this thread for a forge list). The jump between regular and sturdy loot happens around level 36/37 for backpacks, and it seems to go straight from Native Backpack to Sturdy Leaf Backpack. It's a lot faster to go straight for the Sturdy Azure Backpack (a much quicker forge when you start the Sturdy level). Levels 37-47 will provide you with Sturdy Leaf Backpacks which can be forged into the Sturdy Azure Backpack. It's possible that you may find one naturally in those levels, but I only found Sturdy Leaf and Sturdy Glowbug.
Thanks.... Funny....I forged my bum off....then found I could buy it with one gem....one gem....but I really love it!!!! Makes tons of things easy.....
Not that many of us are holding our breath waiting for that 3400 gem Dragon Hammer that was announced a couple of weeks ago, but still not showing up. Here is BFS' comment regarding this on Facebook today: ..unfortunately we can't fix this bug in realtime, it must be addressed in an update. It shouldn't be long now!
I discovered something today; you can kill a golem by digging into its square, without losing any energy. More expensive than using a bomb, but bombs can be tricky to time properly, since you can't hit them until after waking. Further experimenting seems to show you can kill anything by digging under it, without losing any energy from hitting the monster. Could be a bug; it shows the energy hit on the screen, but doesn't seem to take any away.
Update or not? I see there is an update 1.2.2. I have 1.2.1.1. Should I update? I am on level 79, with 75,000 gold, 40 gems and all the tools I want and like... Mighty jade blade, mighty diamond pick..... Mighty Samaria helmet, epic crown, Mighty Chrystal backpack, and the mighty azure backpack....
The current level is 1.2.2.5. On Level 1 there used to be a chest with gems, that is not there anymore. It's possible that you may still have it. Take a look on Level 1. Just before the blue obelisk, and across from the gold chest, are you seeing a a regular chest that has two gems in it? If not, I don't see any reason not to upgrade.
I am stuck on level 90. Simply cannot complete it without a power up! Using a diamond pick, mighty flashlight helmet and mighty azure backpack. Is there can way i could complete it without a power up or boost? I usually can only collect a few gold blocks and crystals from the main chamber, the one parellal to the main chamber up north and the chamber on the west side.
I would suggest not using the diamond pick for regular play, because it doesn't provide anything that helps to complete the level. If you're going to use the Mighty Azure Backpack, you're going to need a fair bit of tech to run that drill. So try using it with the Mighty Iron Blade that gives Tech +40%. Also, you mentioned collecting gold blocks. I would suggest not bothering with that, because it unnecessarily uses up your energy.

Ver 1.2.3.1 That Mighty Dragon Hammer (hammer smash 75%) is now showing up in the market. And yep, it's 3200 gems. Level 87 still produces the same excellent gold/loot farming opportunity. I'm seeing some minor visual things, and hearing some audio enhancements. So far I haven't noticed anything else different. I need to head off to a meeting now and don't have time to look for anything else. What are the rest of you noticing that is different?
For those who have ver 1.2.3.1 and not yet completed level 80, there is a bug on that level in that the goal isn't showing up. What you need to do is trap 3 chest mimics.
Turns out that in the latest version the monster trap bug I mentioned about level 80 affects all levels in which monsters need to be trapped. Backflip Studios just posted this: 6.19.2014 Hello Miners! We are aware of an issue with all quests that involve trapping monsters that prevents the goal from properly displaying during the level. We are working hard to resolve this issue at this time. If you have encountered this issue in Dwarven Den, please use the list of goals below to complete these levels in the meantime. The goals for each level are as follows: Quest Goal 16 Trap 3 Mummies 17 Trap 7 Spiders 25 Trap 5 Mummies 27 Trap 2 Chest Mimics, 3 Mummies 32 Trap 6 Fireball Mummies 37 Trap 4 Armadillos 35 Trap 3 Bugs, Trap 4 Fireball Mummies 41 Trap 5 Armadillos 44 Trap 6 Rockadillos 47 Trap 5 Bomb Bugs 51 Trap 2 Fireball Mummies 55 Trap 4 Mummies 59 Trap 1 Armadillo, Trap 2 Rockadillos 62 Trap 2 Ghost Bugs, Trap 2 Rockadillos 65 Trap 2 Fireball Mummies 68 Trap 4 Fireball Mummies 71 Trap 4 Rockadillos 74 Trap 3 Stone Golems 77 Trap 3 Fearful Chest Mimics 80 Trap 3 Fearful Chest Mimics 83 Trap 3 Fireball Mummies, Trap 4 Mummies 89 Trap 5 Fireball Mummies If you have any questions on this, or any other Backflip Studios title, please contact us at [email protected] We will update this announcement as soon as we have addressed this issue. Thanks for your patience while we resolve this matter. - BFS Support
The Challenge -- Mastering Level 84 While waiting for new levels, I am replaying some of the more challenging current levels. The levels are a bit different every time, so it's fun. Level 84 is probably the most challenging level. Is anyone else up for trying to master this level? If so, it would be fun to share strategy and tips. I'm pretty new to action/puzzles games, but here is my basic level 84 method. Try to get to the back while gathering and conserving as much energy and tech as possible. Use the drill to get the first gold chest and through some of the harder rock back there. Then, get through the gold and get the 2nd gold chest using one crate of TNT. If necessary I lure bomb wasps to help me get through some of the gold and nearby rock, but I try to avoid that as much as possible. My ultimate aim is to get through all the rock and to the gold with 29 energy left since there are 28 blocks of gold. (I've only managed this a few times.) What are your techniques or tips?
This is the only level i havent been able to complete with 3 stars! Have spent about 50 gems on power ups just to try different things and till now have just managed to figure out that dig around the perimeter to avoid the wasps. Dont bait them in unless its around the gold areas since there are too many pillars around on the outer areas. If there isnt a pressing need for high level items, completely ignore the chests. And have got the best results using the drill. What else can i do SeeleyCat?
Smritip, try to get to the back gathering and conserving as much energy and tech resource as possible. In order to do that, try taking some risks at the start of the level. I put up a YouTube video a couple of weeks ago that illustrates this a bit. http://youtu.be/fIPtTTRxzGU Regarding the pillars, if the area gets unstable, just find a pillar that is away from the area you need clear, and that you have a safe running path from, and knock it out. After the lava flows you'll have high stability again.
