I just pass 84.. Bought 3x energy and 1x tech. It's very tricky. For that bit of gold only too.

What gear are you using? It was challenging, but I was able to pass all the new levels (1 star) without any boosts (although I did use tech boosts on replays for a couple of them to get the 3 stars). My technique is generally to explore with the goal of collecting crystals and identifying what I need to do, and leave all non-essential looting until the end when I'm sure I have energy left over after I've secured sure passage to my objective.

    My default get-up:
    - Mighty Nuts & Bolts Blade (Tech + 60%, Stability -50%)
    - Mighty Flashlight Cap (Visibility Distance +2, Environment Damage +25%)
    - Mighty Azure Backpack (Drill)

I rely heavily upon my drill ability and use it to knock out the hardest rocks and columns so I rarely (if ever) have any cave-ins and I save a lot of energy.

I'd be interested to know what others use as their standard gear.

I'm done with all the levels, got everything on 3 stars... I needed a few tech/energy (depending on whether I could break through with sheer force or needed to reach otherwise unreachable points) refills to manage 3 stars though.

The new ones can be done on 1 star without refills.

    Take the following equipment:

    Mighty Jade Blade (Stability +50%)
    - helps a huge lot since stability and/or resultant magma are a huge factor in almost all the newer levels.

Mighty Rock Backpack (Tech Cost -50%)
    - you'll really, really need it in all of them. It's a better option to take for tech than Mighty Nuts n' Bolts Blade since it doesn't decrease stability and leaves your pick slot for something more powerful.

Mighty Samurai Helmet (Chest Foresight +10)
    - I played with this one because I wanted to get all the stars. If you're unconcerned with that, take:

Mighty Ram Helmet (Monster Damage -50%)
    - very helpful in a few levels where you have to avoid and/or soak damage from exploding wasps, mummies and/or golems.

    Mighty Crown (Environment Damage -50%)
    - will help you in that one level where you have to break pillars and run from magma at the same time.

Contrary to what someone said, Mighty Diamond Pick (Gold x 3) still works, it's just that they've decreased the amount of gold available in the levels. 73 is no longer a gold farm, sadly. There's no reason to weaken the item itself though, it's a nice unique pick.

They shouldn't have decreased the gems from the Mighty Wing Blade to x 2 because it's a unique item that was hard to get and is now weaker than the Mighty Jewel Blade (same thing, higher power).

The chest in Level 1, however, was a goner from the start. It was a really bad business idea to put it there in the first place, it was practically a free supply of endless gems (6 gems for 30-40 seconds' work).

And unfortunately, we still can't upgrade or forge any top-tier items.. I guess they'll add new items too, eventually.

Also, regarding all those missing chests... Updates seem to be done over air. So have a go at the chests/gold/gems while you can since they'll probably disappear without warning.

EDIT: And Backflip, if you're seeing this... First off, thanks for an awesome game.
Secondly... There's a ton of us whose stars do not register for guild quests.
I've tested it, did two levels yesterday and today, one in a guild, one in a purpose made new guild just to test that specifically. I got three stars in the level in both cases and returned to the home screen, only to have the option of doing the level again. No new stars (or gems) registered for the guild, and multiple people on this thread have the same problem.

Level 86 can be farmed for high level gear super easy. No monsters at all.

    Equipment

I'm using mighty jade hammer/mighty jade blade depending on the level, mighty epic crown and mighty chemist backpack to add pillar, since the lava will go through the whole area, and you got nowhere to hide from it.

Since about 2 weeks I'm not getting any gems for completing guild quests. I just completed a guild quest today and got all the stars and now a new guild quest has begun. I must have lost heaps of gems close to 100.

Very unhappy about this. If it says 15 gems on the box I expect 15 gems reward when I complete.

    Support is hopeless.

You don't get the gems for finding 3 stars. Your entire guild has to collect the target amount. If you're not getting them it means your guild isn't pulling their weight.

Mighty Wing Blade, +80, Chest Gems x2
Mighty Jewel Blade, +83, Chest Gems x2

Not really an issue since I have to use Lava Hammer or Jade Blade to cut through the 80's levels. Just curious why the redundancy.

(Non sequitur: Nothing left to forge. It's a bit sad. Also, really hoped for a Mjolnir. Hey, Arcanum let you wield Krull's Glaive. God, I'm old.)

For those who have completed level 84, did you utilize the TNT and Bomb Wasps, or did you just try to bypass them?

I used the TNT to press floor plates and avoided the wasps or baited them to blow themselves up away from the TNT (so fewer columns were hit). I used drill to get through the layers of hard stone blocking the gold.

Level 90 is absurdly easy with the drill.

Thank you, Whimsicle. Got through it. For me, level 84 was the hardest of all 90.

Hey i am on level 65 and haven't seen aviator cap/mighty flashlight cap. Any idea when and with what I would be able to forge it or which levels i might be able to farm this on?

Also, which combination results in the winged backpack?

For those who want to do today's quest, I advise:

    Might Nuts n'Bolts Blade
    Mighty Flashlight Cap
    Mighty Rock Backpack

A LOT of tech is needed to make bridges.

And btw: can anyone use forge on Mighty Jade Blade?
I have 5 Mighty Jade Blades but if I try to forge it into sth it doesn't let me, cause it shows only one...

You cannot forge beyond the current top level items:

Mighty Jade Blade / Mighty Lava Hammer
Mighty Epic Crown / Mighty Ram Helmet
Mighty Stein Backpack / Mighty Crystal Backpack

I expect this will change in the future when new levels of items are released, so the dupes will still serve a purpose at that time.

Mighty Mythic Backpack OR Mighty Jug Backpack forges to Mighty Winged Backpack

Mighty Crown forges to Mighty Flashlight Cap (this combo also makes Mighty Samurai Helmet, so it may take a couple tries)

I started a list of forge combos, but it's not complete... Every time I think I'm getting down to the last few, I discover there are more...

Edit: I believe that each item has the potential to be forged into either of the next two on the list (randomly selected, possibly weighted to favor the lower of the two), but I haven't been able to verify outcomes for all combos yet. The following list is what I have been able to test so far.

If you can add verified/tested data to this, please PM me and I will add it to the list to keep the thread from getting too repetitive. Thanks!

    Wow, Whimsicle. This is great!

I already have everything here. But while I don't need the info myself, I am happy to participate in contributing. If there is something in particular you want tested, just let me know and I will do it. Or, I'll wait a week to see what is still missing, then see what I can do to fill in the gap a bit.

Whimsicle I compared my list with yours and found only one addition, that the Mighty Flashlight Cap also ends up as Mighty Samurai Helmet sometimes.

Posted this publicly instead of via PM to ask people if they'd find value in recording how much each forging costs. For example to forge two Mighty Sprocket Helmets into a Mighty Crown or Mighty Roman Helmet is 540g, whereas two Mighty Samurai Helmets into Mighty Epic Crown (or Mighty Ram Helmet) is 2200g. Quite a difference.

The price progression is perfectly logical but simply knowing the costs to begin with might help people know how (roughly) much to grind before starting to forge. I've recorded values for ten high level forges I can share if people think it might be useful.

If it's a waste of space and time that's perfectly fine too. I'd like to hear what people think either way.
