To be fair, we haven't failed to get the prize yet. I just made my run today and we now have 75 of 89 with almost 19 hours to go. That said, adding new members is no longer increasing the prize amount, so if we keep growing we will hit that point again. I still think it would be better to offer prizes on a sliding scale, once a guild reaches a certain size. 100 members minimum for the sliding scale prizes, for example. Then, if 1-25% of the members get the 3 stars, you get "X" prize. 26-50% gets "X*2" prize. 51-99% gets "X*3" prize. 100% of the guild collectin all 3 stars gets "X*4" grand prize. Or something along those lines. Most guilds, unless they really communicate, would never earn the grand prize, but they would always at least be able to get the "X" prize. And "X" prize could be the default amount you would get if you were in a guild by yourself.
I keep getting one star in level 38. I cannot see any other chests, what am i missing? Also, i am stuck at level 45. Any suggestions on how to cross it? Using sturdy azure backpack, sturdy iron blade (sturdy sprocket pick wasnt helping much) and sturdy potion cap.
It mainly boils down to how careful you are. I'd suggest avoiding Rockadillos to avoid excessive use of your Tech. Trapping Rockadillos usually ends up in wasting Tech on Traps, and I learned this the hard way. Just dig around the 'dillos (or dig an L corridor to lose them if you have one chasing you) and you should have enough Tech to shovel under all three walls. The remaining Tech should be used on the Wasps at the center. If you get them all on you, trust me, you'll hate them. A lot. (I've already hated Wasps since their first introduction.)
I just figured out what I was doing wrong -- playing Dwarven Den while blonde. Anyways, I have the pick now.
Hey all, does anyone have any tips for level 68? I have the helmet that let's me see chests but I can't seem to reach a bunch of them, even with that backpack that gives +1 to shovelling. Thanks!
Use a helmet that increases your visibility -- you need to be able to see the square to tunnel in (you don't actually need enhanced shoveling abilities). You can tunnel into one of the gold chest areas from the corner of the blue crystal cache in the NW corner and the other is reachable from the west wall of the main area near the switch room. I think you will need +2 to visibility to be able to see the second chest room enough to tunnel in. If you don't yet have the Mighty Flashlight Cap, there's also the option to boost with the torch ability.
I completely failed on today's guild quest; series of very small rooms to dig into from the start, and I ran out of shovel power far too quickly. Increased visibility, tech, torch, or shovel distance could be good if we are all doing the same sort of stage. Some of the early chambers need to be skipped if you are to make it to the chests.
The guild floors are entirely randomized. It's possible to do it with Sturdy stuff. I can three-star it if I get lucky enough for at least 6 blue crystals and only 2 enemies on the same floor. It's also influenced (though very little) by your gear. Edit: Right as soon as I post this, I get a layout that gives me literally no blue crystals at the starting room, nor in any of the adjacent ones. Backflip, this needs to be looked at, honestly.
I went in with Crystal Foresight and dug into chambers that I could see had at least one crystal. First new chamber was only four large, one blue crystal and a chest. Next chamber also had one blue crystal, and I was out of tech to go any further.
If we are talking about getting the special pick on level 18, you need the Sturdy Gem Backpack (Shovel Distance +1). Then the shovel reaches far enough to get to that island thing off to the right.
I am stuck on level 64. I have cleared out everything I can, got most chests and one of the golden ones. There is a block that I can't get to which I assume opens either the last golden chest or the exit. But I can't figure it out. Since you can't search here on anything less than 3, or maybe 4 characters, I can't search for a solution. I did go through each page but did not see any tips. So if anyone knows how to beat level 64, let me know, and if you don't want to spoil it you can PM me.
64 is much more of a puzzle than other levels. It helps to remember the new skills and tactics you learned in 63. All the tools you need are there, you just need to figure out how to use them to create a solution. If that's not a big enough hint, PM me and I can give you a more detailed answer.
You'll need to use the fire mummy to destroy that block. I put a TNT close to it (you can open the door with a lever close to it), carry the TNT, then release the fire mummy. You'll need to time it correctly, so you can dodge whatever the mummy fires, and make it hit the tnt. That will destroy the block. Without it the spider hits the floor button and opens the door to the crystal. Good luck.
