I just purchased this app and I love it for watching movies, but how do you make it work with dvd's of tv shows. Im trying to watch The Sopranos on this app and it seems like I can only watch the first episode. Is there a way to navigate to the other episodes? When I try the higher numbered chapters they end up just replaying the first episode on the disc.
The server.dmg download keeps timing out and dropping connection. I've lost a significant amount of my monthly data cap. I give up.
Update: this is a known issue with some DVDs, depending on their chapter structure, we're working to fix it. Hi Derek, Thank you for your support of DVD Player! Yes, episode selected is supposed to work. We've used it on our dvds to watch different episodes. Can you try selecting chapter 2 or chapter 3 and hitting play? This app keeps getting better and better. Nice work on the UI overhaul in the latest version! You should post over at MacRumors.com. I believe there's a nice amount of traffic over there as well. A couple suggestions for your app: A easy one first: in the Help part of the app, it was not obvious how to progress through the steps - I discovered that I had to swipe to the left to proceed to the next screen quite by accident. I suggest you add a simple "Swipe to navigate" on the bottom of the "window" to make it clearer. A second suggestion; enable video-out? That'd be simply awesome. A portable DVD player extraordinaire!

Hi Ian, I just downloaded this along with the Windows beta server application. After installing the server along with Java/Bonjour, I can't get it to run. When I double click the shortcut, I get the Windows 7 spinning loading cirlce for a split second then nothing happens. I'm running Windows 7 64bit if that's any help.. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing and still does the same.. If anyone else on Windows 7 has it working and has any suggestions it'd be appreciated, looking forward to trying this out. Hi Silver, The issue is with the 64bit Windows. The Java in the packaged Windows installer is only for 32bit. Any further along with a version that works for OSX 10.5? I've kept the app on my iPad just waiting for either me to buy Snow Leopard, or an update for leopard!
Hi there. Unfortunately 10.5 is on the backburner for now. We're working on a more advanced chapter selection and scrubber tool right now, followed by being able to play DVDs on the hard drive (i.e. iso, cdr, etc). 10.5 will only come after that. Cheers, Ian
