A proper introduction for Durak. I wanted people who have never heard of the game to see it. YouTube [hqyoutube]f7nBGjTnsbw[/hqyoutube] Basically, the goal is to get rid of all your cards in a series of turns. Attack strategically and defend against attacks with higher cards of the same suite or trump cards. Our Favorite Feature: Change the image on the back of the cards We have multiplayer over WiFi now and are potentially working on online multiplayer. (If you guys say you want it. Do you?) We look forward to hearing feedback and reviews! Thanks, Andrey Lost Token Software
Hey great idea. All the Russians I know play Durak and get drunk. You could modify this somewhat to reach a US audience too. Over here we call the game "asshole".
... the hell? What's up with you? I'll check it out. Can't say I'll get it, but hey, maybe I know someone that does.
Huh? What are you talking about? Durak is a Russian drinking game. It is similar to what we play in America, but we call it a different name. What are you not comprehending in my post? Durak means "fool" in Russian. The American name for the game is a little more vulgar.
Yeah I realized after posting it was a case of a guy mashing the reply button without taking the time to comprehend what he was replying to
Great game LostToken, What will be the new changes in the update? I grew up playing durak, and I am having some problems with the rules (I know, there are many). There are some that are followed, and some are not. For example, the first attack cannot be more than five cards, this is followed; however, when a first attack is turned over, the game allows it- I always knew this to be against the rules. Also, I was always taught that "the Ace does not hold the deck". Another issue I've had with the game, is it's pace. I am used to durak being a fast-paced "you-snooze, you-loose" ordeal. Now, I have to wait till the computer (which is somewhat dumb, even on hard) unloads all of its cards before I can throw in, since the "sides" rule (only person to left and right of the defendant can throw in) is in play, which usually doesn't happen in a game less than 6 people or at least 5. Also, one of the more fun things about the game, is that you can attempt to fool your friends by throwing in non-matching cards during a hectic hand - this is not present, though I can see how it would be tough to program I know that it would not be an easy task to match the intensity and speed of real durak (only time a durak can be called fast and intense, hehe), but maybe a tweak in the throw in process can be made, something along the lines of - first to place (card), stays. As far as the fooling your friends goes, perhaps that can be done in a "scream foul" kind of way, place any card if it doesnt match, the defender presses a little foul button, the attacker get punished somehow (or not). Anyway, these are just somethings I've noticed about the game, I stated before that it was a great game (last attempt at iphone durak, fell very short), and stand by my statement, but it could be AWESOME (seriously, like, take US by storm-awesome) Keep up the good work! P.S. Online multiplayer would be amazing!
Thanks for the great feedback! Really glad your enjoying the game. Let me try to answer your questions in order. 1. We are planning long term and continuous updates to Durak. This will be THE game for Lost Token Software for years to come. 2. As for the rules we tried to follow the official rules as closely as possible and tweak them to be perfected for the iphone. Many people play Durak with modified rules and we are trying to take that into account to make it the best experience possible. 3. As for "the Ace does not hold the deck" (if i understand what you mean correctly) is a rule that we will be adding in an upcoming update. Basically, you will be able to switch the lowest trump card (6) with the trump ace. 4. As for pace we wanted to highlight the strategy and skill that can go into Durak at the cost of pace and "foolery" 5. Yea, I have no doubt this will take the US by storm. The game has been around for seemingly hundreds of years and will be the next big classic on the iPhone. Thanks for your support!
Thanks for the responce, What I meant by that is, in the rules I play by, the ace cannot be the trump indicator "holding" the deck. If it is, the deck is reshuffled and a new trump suite is chosen. There are quite a few variations to the rules, this is true, however, everyone I've ever played with, followed that rule. Keep on DURAKing!
