Enjoying the game, but please, oh please rethink this. So I'm playing a game, my phone rings or I get a message, switch to it and... start over? (This won't always happen, but I did just get to a point on my 5S where switching to Messages was causing even the last used app to get kicked out of memory, so it can happen) I'm a long time rogue-like player, starting with the original Rogue on a CP/M system, so I'm familiar with the genre. But when you mix it with mobile then you have to presume that a play session may be a minute, 30 seconds, or even less, and you may need to use the device for something else. It's just annoying. But otherwise, a lot of fun.
Thanks for your input Zathrus! Let's just say I'll consider it - it will take a bit of work, but I'll add it to a 'maybe' for a potential future update. I guess I'm just idealistic that users will play the game, separate from distractions...but as you said, it's mobile. Thanks a lot, really appreciate your voice!
Riiiiiight....please let us know when you find this alternate universe! If this gets fixed, you'll have at least one more customer!
Yeah. This has been a deal breaker for me too. I think he would have a lot more sales if he addressed this problem. Bummer it doesn't seem high on his priority list.
houseofg - oh, don't you quote me! lol I'm thinking about doing a little update soon(ish) - and I'll see what I can do about resuming games. Thanks for your comments so far guys. I'm not really used to anyone caring enough about my games to go out of their way to share their thoughts and ideas. It's great
I was on the fence with this one, but bought because of the high developer presence. Oh, and just to be honest, the sale price too.
No save -and-resume is a deal-breaker for me. I wonder if the dev has confused two sorts of saving here? The sort of saves that roguelikes don't have is save-and-restore -- that allow you to 'do over' bits you don't like and save progress. The sort of save we are asking for here is 'save and resume' so that you don't lose your game when you answer the phone or reach your bus stop. It can be implemented in a way that doesn't let people use it to get the other sort of save.
I'm imagining it to be like cardinal quest 2. Ah well, i haven't even played it yet so I dunno what I'm talking about
Does progress sync to iCloud? (I'm going to have to wipe my current iPhone soon and not restore from backup--and I don't want to start playing yet if my progress won't come back when I re-install.)
