Christoph thank you for this beautiful game. I like the visual style with the love for detail, the cool dreams and the impressive diversity of quizzes. I'm currently stuck in level 98 "Pay the price": Spoiler I don't have the book in my inventory. I went back through some savegames to find the level where I should have picked it up. I distantly remember that I was given a book once and had to use it for something. I thought that it vanished after that. Can you give me a nudge?
It's not a bug afaik but still an option to reach a dead end that I should prevent. Spoiler Ivar should have dropped that book in Level 83. And I guess you dropped it in the wallniche from which you took the potion of death in Level 90. You can either load Level 83 and replay from there or you can delete all Savegames and recreate them (unlock all) with a Cheat (cf. Page 3 of this Thread) and then load chapter 98 manually . You should've listened to the sorceress, she told you you'd an item of power, an item..
I am also having a problem w level 54 because I have 2 swords. I went back to level 44 and replayed but always end up w 2 swords. Help
I just downloaded it a few days ago. I looked at the App Store and I have the most up to date version
Version 1.05 per that screen Interestingly. I replayed level 44 and did not pick up the sword. I went to level 45 and could not complete it because I dis not have a sword. I haven’t played since I posted on message board. When I uploaded game to check version, I now only have 1 sword. So I was able to complete the level. And I did buy the game as it was well worth $1.99 So the issue seems resolved. Thanks
I've hit a bug in level 81/82 that is preventing me from progressing. When I try to restart, it's keeping the broken state and not allowing me to fix the issue. Spoiler I cannot retrieve my sword without opening the pit (preventing passage), and Ivar is not appearing
Life is funny - I came here to discuss this exact thing. Spoiler In my case, my sword is on the third panel - tree-tree-sword-tree - and since I went down the stairs and came back up, every reload has my sword in that same position. Tried exiting the game and it reloaded in the same state. I ended up reloading from level 80 and just playing through again, not a big deal, but still, not sure you want that to be necessary. Also, the game is fantastic. My three-year old is watching me play and is super invested in the story while also repeatedly telling me to “stay calm, you can do it!”
Yes, exactly same issue here! But how do you reload to a specific level? I want to go back to 80 as you said, but the only reload I can see just reloads the level you are on... EDIT: Nevermind, found it in "Load Save Game", which I wouldn't have expected as I've saved no games Thanks for the tip!
I tried that but no luck. I ended up watching a walkthrough because I thought I was missing something and it looks like I'm genuinely in a stuck state. Spoiler I lured the 2 enemies in the room in 82 back up to 81, where they were killed by a tree, but not on a switch (there was a tree on switch 4, not my sword). This left me unable to go back down to 82 with my sword, and it prevented Ivar from summoning
Ah sorry now i get it. You can just load Level 79 (or whatever level you choose) from the menu. And yes of course I'll want to prevent this Case.
Hey, first off I love this game! Clever puzzles and fun. I think I found a bug on floors 82/83. On 82 (Impossible) I messed up where I placed the 4th tree monster, and used my sword for the fourth floor plate switch. Went to floor 83 (Death Trap) and had the goblin follow me back up to 82. The goblin moved the fourth tree monster into the corner so that I can’t move it at all now. If I pick up my sword, then I can’t progress to 83. If I try to kill myself to reset the floor, I just re-enter the floor from 83. So, I’m stuck with no way out. If I’m missing something that would be embarrassing, but it looks like I’m just stuck.
Hey first of all thank you While the autosave system is designed to keep you from (almost) ever caring about savegames it's a full blow save system. All you need to do is: Open menu => Savegames => Load and then seelct level 81 and replay it. This will overwrite your broken savegame of level 82. It's not really a bug (in terms of programming) but I totally agree I should find a way to prevent this, no need to be embarassed. Thanks for your feedback!
Patch 1.06 is currently reviewed by google & apple and should sort out most or all of the problems mentioned here: -------------- Fix: if creating a dead-end savegame in level 81, reset-button will fix it Fix: prevent killing ivar too early in level 82 Fix: prevent picking up the potion of undead in lelve 90 twice Fix: prevent leaving level 92 (grinder) without ally Fix: prevent dropping ivars book in any wallniche before level 98 Potential Fix: Created duplicate font materials to potentially fix empty menu texts bug --------------
Seriously. My only problem with DoD is that it’s so good, I’m already replaying the whole thing. My plan to come back to it every year or so is already foiled. Oh, and it has to be said: With it being released on Steam this month, I sincerely, sincerely hope we don’t go down the “Shit mobile game” route with the PC crowd.
