- Yes, I can imagine it's nothing that you can just quickly add. But I'm glad to know it's on your (probably ridiculously long) do to list. - Good to know, I just thought I might be missing something - Versatility with weapon choice is nice, but fighters and rogues can pretty much do the same. I just think the ranger needs something that makes him unique. Just my 2 cents, though - I'm still realatively early in the game and have hardly encountered any undead. I usually like having a dedicated healer, but druid + monk provide enogh healing and are WAY more useful when you don't need healing. Without some information on the advanced classes (and the ? skills/spells) it's hard to tell wheather dragging a cleric along is worth the effort in the long run.
The only thing that really hurts a Ranger is the lack of weapon change during fights. I imagine that was intentional though. Curious about the Ranger's 'secret' class, was that implemented in these chapters? Haven't played around with Monk yet, but a Druid juggling damage and healing usually leaves very little mana. Priests are much more dedicated healers.
Bought. After reading the posts from Volker, I am all in. Looks like the type of game I like, but it seems the dev really put his all into this. I had to buy it. Il check it out and post what I think later!
Thanks very much for the additional guide. The in-game help is very good but there are so many in-depth mechanics that it's good to get an understanding of them before I tackle the game properly. Really like the game, missed it the first time round. Edit Oh btw I'd be more than happy to shell out for additional content via IAP should you go on developing the game.
If there is a major content expansion, yes that may be an IAP. But definitely not consumable IAP intended, ever.
I've been playing and found that this game crashes on an iPod touch 5th gen. It crashes when I look at the map and randomly during battles. Was enjoying this game and hope you can find some way to fix this :/
The oldest device I tested it on was an iPad2, and that had the same issue. It is a 'out of memory' occurrence, so it will happen when there is an overload on the RAM which is only 256MB on an iPad2. I think your iPod touch 5th gen should have 512MB so the fact that it can crash for memory very much surprises me. Are you quitting all other apps when you play DoC? First of all, if you prefer please request a refund through iTunes as I don't want you to have a bad experience with it. I am working on an update now that will allow you to switch off particles in the options menu which I think is causing your fight crash, but for the map I would probably have to restrict the zoom-out extent (it displays 40x40=1600 sprites I think) to avoid it killing the memory. A scrollable 30x30 (=900) would be half the drain I guess. But I really can't promise I will be able to resolve it fully. Any device older than 3 years (unless it was high end at the time like a GS3) seems to struggle. But it is also not consistent: it works fine on my 5C on iOS7 but one user had massive issues on 5C under iOS9.
Ok, played a bit, killed by the white psycho rat lol. Wiped my whole party out lol! Love the game!! Thanks to the touch arcade members for convincing me to buy! And good work by dev for the awesome help here in the forum!
I wish not for a refund! This game is too damn good I appreciate you responding. This game has become my favorite game and will not be deleted by me. I will continue to play on my iPhone and I will attempt to play again on my iPod (I'll get rid of background apps) I'll update you in a bit. Awesome game man!
*spoilers* So... I'm questing for the orb, and I've cleared all 7 orc tunnels, but .. no Warlords to be found. Not sure if a bug, or if I'm just not looking in the right place. But I've searched the area around the orc village for a hidden or out-the-way hut, no dice. They are supposed to appear in the randomly-generated orc tunnels, no? No idea where else they could be. Could it be that the dungeon generator is simply not spawning them for some reason? If so, will these dungeons reset eventually and allow me a second go? EDIT: I should add that I was pretty good about hitting all the secret walls, with two high perception PCs and Wizard's Eye up practically the whole time
practically impossible. When I designed this I estimated that there is a 1:10000 chance that each of my routines will try and force a connected boss room but fails. So what I did to mitigate the risk is I said kill 1 and I spawned 2. So it would be super unlikely. SPOILER !!!! This should not be looked at unless you are equally stuck: Spoiler Warlord #1 will spawn in the hut furthest WEST, and #2 spawns in the hut south of that, so the one SOUTHWEST if pointing from the centre of their roadcrossing. Check just those 2 maps again, definitely with Wizard's Eye on. And note: some secret passages are not in corridors, they are in the rooms themself (a huge room that is made of two half-rooms connected with a secret passage)
Spoiler Well, I did an extra thorough search of the west-most tunnels and indeed there was a patch of wall that I had missed, behind a chest I must opened diagonally. I feel quite foolish now, but I do appreciate you taking the time to answer Also should have noticed that spoilers button... Thanks again!
When you want to improve spells by using them, spellbooks have no influence. But that takes a very long time. So spellcasters that want to reach high proficiency in a spell need to invest talent points. How much your spell proficiency increases when you invest 1 talent point, depends on your starting proficiency, your magic lore skill, and the number and potency of your spellbooks. Example: you have no spellbooks and spend a talent point on a spell with a current proficiency of 10. It will increase by 2, and then be 12. So if you want to reach 20 (in order to use SPELL LEVEL 3 of that spell), you need to invest 5 talent points. That is a lot. If you have let's say two spellbooks, potency 3 and 4 maybe (books on the left are less rare and powerful then books on the right side of the bookshelf). Using 1 talent point will probably give you a proficiency increase of 4. Now you can reach and exceed proficiency of 20 with just 3 talent points invested. Note: the effect is capped at an increase of 5. So you will never benefit from a talent point by getting an increase of more than 5. But since the impact is smaller if your starting proficiency is higher, you definitely need spellbooks if you try to raise spells beyond proficiency of 30 or 40 as you would only get small increases otherwise. Also note that finding a spellbook of a spell you do not know yet means it becomes known and trainable. This is the biggest benefit because the only other way to learn new spells is from NPCs and that happens only for very few spells.
So the battle crashes seem to have sub sided but the map will load and then crash even when background apps are gone. Still a fun game
