Yeah, the master game picker did it again! https://toucharcade.com/2021/09/04/toucharcade-game-of-the-week-dungeons-miners/ There’s a door with a green lantern in the mines and on one of my first few plays I couldn’t figure out how to get in. I just remembered it because I ran into one again. When you walk in front of it, your shield button should change to the button with the hand icon but it doesn’t (at least for me). Just a heads up - pressing the shield button will get you through that door. Has anyone else gotten into this predicament? (See below) That was a nice change of pace from the mining/dungeon crawling/upgrading loop! I finally got a new sword and it’s awesome. It’s the “Inferno” sword and seems like quite a nice upgrade from the newbie sword I’ve been using this whole time. I also got 2/3 pieces of the Black Hole sword. Just need the Cross-Guard piece and some ore/gems and I’ll have what looks to be the best sword in the game. Sadly, I haven’t picked up any new shields yet, but the newbie shield works good enough against the archer skeletons. That’s the main time I use the shield. ATM, those flying eyeballs get me every time.
What a pleasant surprise to see the game as the Game of the week, thanks a lot for that! This project has been a big rollercoaster! As for the noted issues, most are fixed in the next version that will be available these days, we will keep being watchful of everyone's feedback to know if there are more annoying bugs here and there. Yes the first green door I ever went to I couldn’t figure out how to use it. No hand icon was confusing. I walked around forever and kept coming to the door. So eventually I just hit the shield button. And yes it should change to a hand. But I figured it just doesn’t. Question how did you get out of dungeons without using the doors ? It’s the only way out. Yes been in the web. And a few other interesting spots lol. Game only gets better and better. I have played soooo much. Have two full swords (fire and black hole) Both are awesome. I think I like fire better to be honest. But both useful and fun. Have All the shields and they each have different affects. Not one is better then the last. Each will change your gameplay style. Found tons of other great things. I hope there is so much more to explore. I don’t want the fun to end.
Note: Forgot to mention what a great game of the week article it was. All the bugs aside the game is incredible and the bugs don’t ruin the experience. Also as I mentioned before the developers have not only been active here but in PM with me about many of the bugs. They have found a fix for the game breaking ones which should be out soon. These guys are on it so don’t let any of that hold you back. This is a game that will be fixed soon with no issue.

Ya watch the thread. I’m sure they will notify us here. If not I am pretty sure they will tell me as we have been in contact lots. And I will for sure mention it here. But I really think they will. Anyways one is coming very soon though I believe. I am very far in the game. Tier 20 and tons of upgrades done. Have many items and done a bunch of quests. I’m probably even near endgame. So I have let them know anything else I have found that hasn’t been mentioned or found yet. They are on top of everything. Amazing developers of an absolutely incredible game.
Has anyone found red gems yet? I’m trying to craft my next sword & upgrade my pick but I need red gems. I’ve found plenty of green & pink. Is it locked behind one of the castle tiers?
Locked behind a castle tier. I forget which one. But I’m guessing you’ll find it soon. Once you need something you start seeing it shortly. But they are coming soon for you I think. Mostly red is in the monsters that look like purple or black blobs. Then you can also upgrade in tiers to find then in higher percentages. Don’t underestimate those small numbers. Even 1% more you will see a huge difference.
Has anyone figured out how to defeat the drone using the beam? I keep hitting the pillars to turn on the lights, then flip a switch to bring it down but it still doesn’t take any damage.
You may have beaten it already. It doesn’t die. Check if the dragon has a hand over it. You may have gotten the piece you need. If not just keep at it. When he is low enough attack. It’s easier then you think. But he will keep attacking even after you have “beaten” him. The dragon will let you know when you get near him.
Wonderful game, just finished it, probably play it again once the update is available. Ran into quite a few bugs and crashes, but the gameplay, art and funny narratives/dialogs more than made up for them. Spoiler loved the thumbs-up animation after the dragon drops the player Some of the bugs I ran into: - at times some of the the controls fail to respond, generally, once I did something else the controls became responsive again - in the mines the utmost left two columns of material can not be mined - in the mines sometimes the ‘deadly’ fog fails to kill, allowing to get above the fog even - purely visual: on the extreme left and right in the mine, the deadly fog is not drawn upto/beyond the screen’s edge - using the jar full of souls always lead to a crash for me (once the last souls hit the demondoor) - the dialog of the king offering the flying pig repeated every time I visited, even tough the pig was already gone/given - at times managed to run through a wall in the dungeon, not being able to return to the actual corridor - at times parts of the corridors are obscured with black bars One thing I only figured out only halfway through by mistake: being able to climb in the mine by swiping up.. maybe I missed it being explained, but I don't think so. The lack of a visual button or clue of this option surprised me. Anyway great fun
Al Just so everyone knows all of these bugs have been addressed. I’m pretty sure all of them except for the odd graphical one is already fixed for the upcoming update. Everyone one of those bugs I have discussed with the developers. Just wanted to mention this so everyone knows developers are aware of everything on that list and I’m pretty sure it’s all been fixed ! The only crashing one is the jar. I’m waiting for that fix. Dying to see what happens with it lol. There are a couple more fixes coming as well. important to note good developers who are on top of it. So don’t let any of this keep you from buying this Gem !! The swiping up is indeed part of the game and a life saver.
To Update on my experience: I deleted the app and reinstalled and I'm no longer having the shutdown issues being shot by the skeleton archers. Running much better with a few bugs from time to time.
Fun game so far! Some of these have been reported elsewhere, but just to put my thoughts in one place... 1. A "suicide" button might be nice, in the pause menu perhaps. Kills you right away and saves everything? 2. I love the above ground ambiance. Still, an option to race faster (like from the graveyard back to the engineer) is something I'd probably use. 3. Shield icon needs to change to hand icon when appropriate. 4. iPhone 12 max...can't see health, coins, etc. because of notch. 5. In the Castle tiers, it would be nice to have a visual clue about which ones you have the supplies for, and which ones you don’t. 6. Relatedly, a way to see all the resources you’ve gathered, both as you mine/fight and in the overworld. Loving the game so far. Drylands is one of my all time favorite mobile games. Nice to see this one continuing the tradition, @AngryBugs
The game has force closed from memory leak type of issues. I had 16 or souls in the jar i went and found a treasure door as it redeemed the jar of souls the game crashed to the home screen. Ive also experienced the fog raise me up and not kill me. ive experienced the controls just not working at all. They just quit at random. the black bars issue on the rng . And fallen through invisible floors had to force quit the game. Those eye enemies are the bane of my existence!!! I am on a iphone x .current os. Ohh yeah the notch makes the health bar and coins and any other data were not seeing.
Weird bug: I was trying to kill one of those blue crystal-giving monsters outside of a dungeon door. It started to animate the "enter dungeon door," then froze. All the buttons disappeared. I was stuck outside the door, with the crystal monster bleeding me, with no option to move/attack. Had to wait for the death fog to kill me.
The first bugs that are already fixed in the next version that will be available shortly are the "fall through floors", the notch obscuring part of the hp and coins, improvements in the controls and several others; we are fixing the rest and will keep updating the game soon, I'll keep you posted!
Ohhhhhh, just saw this and downloaded a copy! Will probably wait to crack it open until the bug fix update comes through, but anything from the makers of Drylands is an instant purchase for me.
