Thanks for that, bought it and WOW this rocks! Graphics are great on my old iPad 2, gameplay, interface and BGM really shine! My fav game right now. Keep IB III, Dungeonism is a game for real gamers!
Just to be sure, there's no ending cutscene or anything, right? I think I've finished the game but I want to be sure.
I wish there was some kind of cut scene that told me that I had finished the game. I played the 10 dungeons each to Level X and delved down deep into them quite a long way and realised they were infinite and quite hardcore eventually where the bomb became almost the only weapon of choice, so collecting magic was essential. As I wasn't certain the 10 Dungeons were all there was, I played through again, collecting 5000 points to buy the Atlas only to be told that I'd unlocked everything already. So I'm now a "Master Rogue", all tooled up with nowhere to go and hopelessly addicted. Will there be new levels coming or is that the end of the line Jefff? we need to know...... maybe we should be able to unlock a hardcore version.
Do the endless dungeons track the furthest you've made in them (i.e some sort of record/score as it were)?
Funnily enough that’s all that left for us once we complete the 10X10 levels. Having achieved 5000 points all i can spend them on is the various tools to power through as more and more demons appear. Actually that may be the answer perhaps Jeff, you could add a 'demon only' level that was super hard and each time it was played through it got harder and harder to see how many hardcore rounds we could play. Then we could have a new target to reach.
Just picked up this title, and I must say... It is gorgeous! Major kudos on the style! I'm a obsessive roguelike gamer (Brogue is my current favorite) and I love puzzle games as well. Let's just see if gameplay is as good as the presentation.
Hadn't heard of this until I read about it on Pocket Tactics. Looks like a fun game, and I love the art style.
Anyone able to offer some help on Fearsomest Forest IX? I am stuck on the chamber outside the final room. Do I need a particular spell or item? Sure its something obvious.
I would like some cloud support and maybe a expansion and or a ramped up difficulty level. Even some sort of artifact collection as you got farther for bragging rights or something. The thing is that this game has awesome ideas but it is over too quickly. I enjoyed this game lots and two things made me sad. One was it ended too soon and the other is I could not find a way to move my progress to my new iphone 5s. I peek in here from time to time in hopes that I see something new cooking up here. One of these days I hope to be pleasantly surprised. Have a good one.
This game is fantastic. Played for several hours now, very happy with it. I still haven't figured out how to scroll the screen to see past my immediate surroundings. The instructions say to use a finger to slide on the edges but it does not work for me. Playing on iPad mini.
Game Impressions After spending even more time with this game (10 hours or so) I wanted to come back and provide more impressions. First of all, this is a 10 on 10 for me, and it's not a score I give to many games. This is easily the most fun and polished dungeon crawler / rogue-lite I've played on any platform. The music, the visual style, the way movement and attacks are done are all excellent. It's the most unique looking and stylish game of its sort, IMO. Also, there is a wide variety of enemy types. I'm still discovering new ones now. I also really like the levelling up system, equipment and magic system. As you progress in a level, the game notes what skills you're using (melee, magic, archery, etc). At the end of a level, it will give you a chart of everything you can level up and skills you've heavily used get a discount on XP used. You can save XP up as well to upgrade item or spell capacity. Equipment is rare but provides very powerful bonuses. For example, a breastplate I found returns energy when I'm hit which means I never have to rest. Or my gloves, which knock back enemies with all my arrow or melee attacks. This means I can position myself better and push enemies in holes or in torches, etc. The magic system is well fleshed out too. Spells like chain lightning, heal, firewall, magic mine and so forth. The more spell capacity you have the more you can have memorized. While it doesn't have the difficulty other games of its sort do, it's still very fun and dying in a level still punishes you, as anything you get while in that session is lost. Levels are usually 5 minutes, give or take, so it's perfect for small sessions but I find myself able to play for over an hour or more. Controls are perfect and it's turn based. Only thing I haven't figured out how to do is look around past my current position (sent a message to the dev for clarification) Each section has ten maps and the last map also has what seems to be an endless dungeon (ladder going down). This adds a lot of replay and risk, as each time you go down, the monsters get much more difficult. Each floor has an exit too, so you have to decide whether or not to leave and keep all your xp, gold and gear or keep going down in search of more rewards but at higher risk. So yeah, highly highly recommended. This game deserves more attention!
I like the game but, unless I missed something, I don't think it tracks your top Endless Runs, or does it? To me, Mr. Score Obsessed, Endless Runs means little with no record of your top efforts.
To look in an off-screen place, you can either drag with two fingers or drag from the very edge of the screen.
I tried both of these things several times. I've looked up I don't know how many LPs to try and see someone actually doing it to ensure I wasn't a fool. None of them work. Two fingers, one finger, from the edge of the screen, or the corners, top, botton, left, right, whatever. It might be something about my device (Ipad mini) so until someone else tells me they can do it on an ipad mini (first one) successfully, I'm going to assume there's a problem.
