I seem to progress quite fast. I'm just concern a little with the replay value since there is no score. I just don't want this one to end! This game made me download Auro again. The aesthetic reminds me of it!
This is not a turn based game? In the description says action game but not sure. Any similar game to know how it is this one? Thanks
Seeing those tiles in the video, i tought this is another turn-based game. So thanks, squarezero, for writing those lines above. After the beautiful looking and intriguing SteamWorld Heist, i'll never touch turn-based stuff again. Just saying, i invested about five hours into it, but it's slow/strategy/thinking gameplay simply isn't my gameworld. Here, i already invested about five hours minimum, and i'm not even close to finish the game. As you can see in my picture, i reached dungeon 7, once, and those saws surprised me totally. I died, lol. The game adds always something new to it, and i like that. Instead of going out on my free weekend and to just have only one beer in 20 minutes, these little four bucks (i know, not for everyone) already paid out, and still strong going. Welcome to TA my dear Devs and congrats to this beautiful gem! Edit: it took me quite some time to just get two Hero Tails. I died a lot. To learn the enemies pattern takes some time, but to be honest, having no tutorial wasn't that bad at all. Learning by doing is great in this one, imho. Lol, i'll never understand why some devs make the loading screen full of game tips, if you don't even have, in this game, one second to read. But don't worry folks, you'll encounter these tips again while playing. Just read the signs.
After 5 pages of high praise, I took the punt on this one too. I am getting ready to hit the start button.. Thanks TA community.
Just reporting back after my first hour or so. Initially, there is a learning curve due to lack of tutorial. The curve is rather comfortable and welcoming to be honest. Nice contrast to the handholding that often takes place. Very clever visual and audio designs. I wholeheartedly recommend this game, and then some. It took me about 5 tries to beat the level one boss, and when I finally beat him, it was an epic battle I came into the fight with just 1 hp, and any hit would have killed me. I had no gear, no items and no runes. I ended up dancing and jabbing around that lvl 1 boss like Muhammad Ali, it got my heart pounding and was really fun doing so. Later, I died a silly death on level 2 and left with a fat pack full of gold. It's a promising start to a beautifully made game.
Yeah well I took the plunge based on the impressions on here and I'm very glad I did - Enjoying it a hell of a lot
7 out of 10 I start with the latest sword available and an armor. Then I pray the RNG gods to give me a good spell and plenty of healing items!
Nothing to add to this thread. Everything's been said. If Dungeon Tails, however, doesn't click the first time you play it, stick with it. Trust me. Oh, and I'm all for keeping things the way they are. The little hint signs coupled with the "i" button tell you everything you need to know.
ha, yeah nice.. I am lvl 3 shop and have just made it to Floor 4. Dungeon Tails is a very approachable rogue-like, and a lo(o)t of fun too. This game really does make you feel that Floor 16 is just around the corner, and that you really don't want it all to end too soon. Tip: If your pack is full, you can always throw an item from your pack back to the ground and pick it up for use later before leaving the floor. ..oh, and no one has asked yet, but yes.. This game autosaves.. There no loss of current run progress if you close the app.
So how do you use the enhancements you find in the dungeon? The description says to "tap on a weapon" but I can't find any way to open an inventory, and tapping on my character does nothing.
First, you need to have a weapon in your bag; you can find weapons while questing, or buy one in the shop.
Bought yesterday based on praise, I love it and agree with all of the things being said. Hope this will be looked at for game of the week next week. So far this is my favorite of the year.
Thanks guys. I thought my stick was a weapon, so I was confused. Also, it took me getting flattened a few times to realize that this isn't turn-based. I am really enjoying my first grid-based action rogue-like!
Price says £2.99 but the app store says £3.99 Will still probably check it out though.on the wish list for now.
