I now have the OPTION to buy the new expansion but get an error every time I try. (never mind, got through!)
Heads up - a new Dungeon Solitaire update, 2.6, has been submitted to the App Store! New things: - Tarmyn's Treasures, a new downloadable 9-card expansion (and a nod to the first Intellivision D&D game for those of you who remember!). The expansion is filled with new, dangerous treasure cards as well as one of the most powerful items in the game -- the Lordly Lucern Hammer, which is a +2/+2 item that also doubles the gold value of any monster it slays. - New tie ability, Regeneration, which returns the monster into the deck at +1/+1. Heroes can get this too with the Rejuvenation Chamber trap card. - A new icon for Dragonkill, since none of us here liked the original. - Some minor bug fixes and graphical improvements
Got the new update but now there is another oddity. When drawing a card it expands to ALMOST the size of the screen, it's off by just a little bit, there's a slight delay, then it expands a little more. It's not game breaking, but the change is really distracting (like when the cards shrink and the stats flip) The keyboard doesn't invoke either so I can't unlock cards or enter my name for a high score. It's most likely an issue with OS4.0 but I thought I'd bring that to the devs attention
Nothing has changed in the way cards grow/shrink since 2.5 (where we changed the growing/shrinking to be smoother but more file-based than memory-based so as to limit memory crashes); maybe something about the 4.0 beta is slowing down your device's file system, so files load more slowly?
iPad/iPod Touch Question I recently purchased the game for my iPad and bought all the expansions. On my iPod Touch, none of the expansions are shown as available for inclusion in the decks. I synched my Touch AFTER having purchased the expansions. I also tried uninstalling & then re installing the game on the Touch. Question: Do I have to purchase the expansions again for use on my Touch, or as I read earlier in this thread about folks who had reinstalled the game after an update, do I go through the steps to purchase the packs, click buy now and then iTunes will NOT charge me for the packs again? If I have to pay again is this only because they are installed on different devices i.e. Touch & iPad, or will this happen again for my wife's iPad version when I install it on her device? Thanks in advance
You have to go in and "re-buy" the expansions - after the very last step, it will tell you the expansions have already been purchased so you won't be charged (I wish it would do that check earlier). Only have to pay once per iTunes account, not once per device.
Ok, that's what I thought but I wanted to check with someone here to make sure. I had done that, but hesitated on the "are you sure you want to buy..." window, before confirming that selection. I've just downloaded all of the packs to my Touch and every thing was free and is working properly. BTW, this game is EVIL. I can't stop playing it, and though it is a tough game to win, it makes it even more satisfying when you do so. Frakin' awesome game! Like to see it ported for Xbox or PS3-PSP. Thanks for your help in clarifying my download question!
We're looking into the keyboard issue, only happens in iOS 4, hopefully we can get an update out soon to fix it.
I just picked this up for free and after playing for 30 min, promptly bought all 5 expansion packs. They seemed a bit overpriced ($1 for 7-9 cards) but I don't regret it. I am really enjoying it. The fact that it is a Universal App is just icing on the cake.
I think I finally figured out something key that allowed me to win a few games. Forget about trying to wipe out the bad guys, just settle for tying most of the time! As long as you can just keep your guys on the board you'll win. I know initially I spent way too much time trying to find way to wipe out baddies only later to realize merely being able to survive them was good enough.
