This looks kinda cool. mgambino Well-Known Member Aug 13, 2014 159 95 28 #4 mgambino, May 3, 2021 I took a chance on it. I haven’t played a whole lot, so I can’t speak to the depth of the deck building part… but as an overall, really basic impression, I played for it for 2 hours today and am still having fun with it. I know that might not be helpful, but I like it. drelbs, Ijipop, ThirdMoon and 1 other person like this. sharfaust Well-Known Member Jul 1, 2013 339 75 28 #5 sharfaust, May 3, 2021 If you could give any additional thoughts whenever you can play more, I’d be grateful. Thanks for your impressions! UnhappyUnlucky Well-Known Member Oct 17, 2014 588 8 18 Lowell, MA, and sometimes Asia #6 UnhappyUnlucky, May 3, 2021 The title is generic. There is already a popular board game with said name. There is another unrelated Nintendo DS game with the same name. Upon searching for videos relating to “Dungeon Raiders” I’ve found mostly videos on those two previously mentioned games. I did end up watching a trailer for this dungeon raider on the App Store. All I could tell from the short trailer is you gather and collect card lol. You do seem to have party members following your main character around. According to description you could gather up to 6 party members. You collect them as you progress. The end of trailer got me perplexed. There are arrows tiles and then all of a sudden characters are moving around. Perhaps in the direction of the arrows. I think this is your customized shop the description mentioned mgambino Well-Known Member Aug 13, 2014 159 95 28 #7 mgambino, May 3, 2021 So basically it’s a title by title dungeon crawler. Your entire party is moved as 1 “piece” through the dungeon. If you encounter an enemy (or enemies) it turns into a card battler. Your entire party has one deck acts as 1 during combat, and the cards work based on the total skill number that the card uses. Same for the enemy. Every party member has their own stats and can be equipped with gear. For example, in a dungeon a party of 2 encounters 2 slimes. Slimes seem have an HP of 2, so you have to fight an opponent with 4 hp. You have a party of 2. 1 person has 8 hp and 7 attack, and the other 10 hp and 5 attack. That means you go into combat with an hp of 18, if you draw the generic “attack” card, you do 12 damage. Mr slime is dead in one hit. Equipment and Cards are separate. You earn equipment and money in the dungeons. You buy new cards with money. It’s a deck builder, so you gradually shelf the weak cards and replace with better ones. In addition, you have a shop on your boat that you can doc with to makes sales. You start with a cash register and a display case (each case holds one items for sale and piece of equipment (like the cash register, not display cases ) needs a party member to use it. It’s fun little mini games. Overall, my impression of this is very positive, while are probably many deck builders way better than this one, the game gives me that vibe of early iOS games… slightly dumbed down, not pretty, and fun. aussiepaul, Ijipop, drelbs and 2 others like this. mgambino Well-Known Member Aug 13, 2014 159 95 28 #8 mgambino, May 5, 2021 So, this is probably my final update for people on the fence about this. If you want an almost board game like dungeon crawler with loot and light deck building, you will probably like this. I don’t think it’s meant to be the next Dream Quest, it’s more like Dungeon! (the old board game). I’m still playing it, and have been playing a lot (minor but long hospital stay) so I definitely got my money’s worth. aussiepaul and sharfaust like this. gmattergames Well-Known Member Mar 1, 2013 607 41 28 #9 gmattergames, May 6, 2021 Ddddid you say Dream Quest? Oh wait, its NOT the next Dream Quest. Darn! How is it, nobody has done that yet? I mean, it’s like someone built the framework for a major blockbuster and just walked away from it. mgambino Well-Known Member Aug 13, 2014 159 95 28 #10 mgambino, May 6, 2021 I consider Slay the Spire and all of the “STS clones” to be a separate, but awesome, beast. I’ve spent way too much of my free time on STS and others of its ilk. But to me, DQ is special because it is a game designed for mobile and just felt right for the platform, and I’m still waiting for something to recapture that. I never get sick of dungeon crawlers/roguelikes those are my favorite genre but not necessarily the card battle sort sharfaust Well-Known Member Jul 1, 2013 339 75 28 #12 sharfaust, May 7, 2021 Have you played Rogue’s Tale for iPad? I have watched a couple of vids on it. Looks like fun, but I haven’t tried it yet. PBSNellie Well-Known Member Jul 7, 2013 1,372 163 63 Southern CA #13 PBSNellie, May 7, 2021 Just looked this up. How did it slip under the radar? sharfaust Well-Known Member Jul 1, 2013 339 75 28 #14 sharfaust, May 7, 2021 Beats me. It looks like it’s been out for a couple of months, but on PC for years. I just stumbled across it while looking up another game on the App Store. Apparently, it is very hard, but there should be some difficulty in a Roguelike, right?
