my entry (just right -125 words): Born as the son of the Prince of Thieves - Robin Hood, me and my friends are trying to explore the dungeons where innocent villagers are captured by the Lord Rusty to be used as slaves for building the new castle aim to overthrown the current King Edward. Each of the cells is unique. There is a special key or tactic to open each of the doors. We are tasked to monitor how of the cells are opened by each of the prison guards before we can take action tonight. The night is young but we need to stay low and uncovered amidst the shadows to avoid being discovered. Solve the secrets of Dungeon Raid and get out alive or dead depending on your wits!
The sky was orange and thunder shook the Earth, on the night the witches came. People say they ride broomsticks, but that's a myth - for they float through the air, fueled by black incantations. They arrived in swarms, covens of cackling witches, driven in their quest for the pure one. You tried to fight them, but couldn't match their magic nor numbers. They carried away Meagan, your beautiful and only daughter. In that moment, before losing consciousness, you vowed to save Meagan and to destroy the evil circle of witches, forever...
Sorry I forgot to put this in: multiple entries are fine, but if two of your entries win, you will still only receive one code. Great job writing so far, guys! Keep it up!
Your tribe holds a triathlon of sorts every seven years to determine who will be the next chief. In the triathlon, you are required to run through a field of geysers that spew hot lava, swim through the lake of the laser shark, and finally travel through a monster infested dungeon and make it to the exit alive. Having somehow been one of the handful of people to make it through the first two trials, you don your armor and weapons that the tribe set out for you near the entrance of the cave. You'd heard of partnerships being formed to finish this last part of the triathlon in earlier years, but no one seems to be around. Alone, you set forth into the dungeon...
One day, you spawned into this mysterious world with no clue how you arrived there. The environment was made up of blocky pixelated textures and is inhabited by boxlike animals such as sheep, cows and pigs. Following your survival instinct, you started punching trees around you to get wood. Then, tools were crafted and a shelter was built. As your base expands, there was always this thought of a precious blue gem that is concealed deep down below. You began yearning for it and finally made a decision to descend into the darkness in search for it. Armed with stone sword and some weak armour, you dug down to bedrock level only to discover a huge natural cavern. Your quest for the blue stone begins.
I got this inspiration from watching the Thor movie: Locked in the dungeons with your friends in a cell deep down the Frost Giants lair, You - Thor must find a way to break free and rescue your father Odin before Loki take over the realm with the Frost Giants. Time is ticking away. You need to figure out a way to get out of the cell with the correct combination of keys and break free with your friends. Solve the puzzle and rescue your father!
Your last memory is the hideous crackle of laugher as the chancellor hoisted you from your celestial throne. Stunned you emerge from your vessel’s impact to find the air breathable. Hit with betrayal you muster strength and hobble aimlessly to warn the population of the impending extraterrestrial invasion. The squishy pink inhabitants answer your pleas with only confused screams and shiny metal blades. Grasping towards what remains of your craft you feel the heat of torches at your back and hear the zap of approaching alien artillery in the distance above as the invasion begins. Ducking into your saucer you clutch a utility laser and peer out towards the clashing hordes. Enraged you must regain your galactic empire.
Awesome! Love coming up with stuff like this. I edited my first post with my second entry, here's my third: You are on an adventure to destroy The One Thing, an item of immense power. If returned to its original owner, disastrous disasters would arise. As such, the Council has tasked you, the bravest and mightiest warrior in the realm of Twiddle-Earth, on this most important task. Makes you think why they only sent you. Anyway, you set out to Mount Shroom to destroy The One Thing. Strangely enough, you have barely encountered any foes on your epic journey, save the slimy slimes and ratty rats. Nevertheless, you proudly march on with the end in sight. At the base of Mount Shroom, you discover an ominous entrance. Could this be the rumored final boss level? In anticipation, you step inside and begin your legendary legend
I edited two of my stories to make them more about dungeons than caves, by changing the words/wording a tiny bit. I didn't make any changes to the story, just the setting (from cave to dungeon). I hope that's ok, I just felt that I should make it so that my entries flowed better with the game in case they're somehow picked. Sorry for bending/breaking the rules. The third edit was to reduce the word count from ~140 to ~125.
Editing is fine for the duration of the contest! Don't worry, just don't edit after the contest ends (which will be in about two weeks, I'll give you more warning as the end nears).
You entered a cave. There are two paths, will you go left or right? >right You turned right and walked until you entered a massive room. You see something glowing in the middle of the room. Will you continue walking towards it or turn back? >continue You continue walking forward and arrive at the glowing object. The object is a sword on a pedestal. Would you rather pick it up or walk around it? >pick up You picked up the bright silver sword. A monster falls down from the ceiling directly in front of you. Will you fight it or run away? >fight (I'd like to be humble, but I'm very pleased with how this one turned out ) EDIT: (Also, I'm gonna take the "swear not to edit them further" out of my other post. I probably won't need to edit them further anyways, but you know, just in case I see a glaring error or something. )
Epic dungeon time You were (epic pause) banished from the "Awesome fantasy land, number three." You wander the ultimate all time dealiest danger zone in search of an ultimate calling. Then after years of the same boring character building journey that every adventure movie has, you find it. The Generic sword of destiny. You grasp it in your hand and you feel the angelic sound protruting from the heavens wait your plaing this on the toilet anyways, so the only sounds you are hearing are from the dude one stall over. So you collect the generic sword of destiny and go on your very own quest of awesome. Hopes that I win. Btw epic pause is part of the text. Give me some feedback
When the first troll emerged from the cave, the villagers were startled. They surrounded the half-blind beast, roped it to a tree and debated whether to kill it. The creature was passive and non-responsive. It didn't understand their shouted questions and demands. It whimpered. The second and third trolls were less docile. They arrived with spiked clubs and snarled when surrounded. They fought back. "Block the cave!" someone yelled, "before more - " The warning came too late, as armored trolls stomped into the sunlight. The subterranean creatures surveyed the land hungrily. They inspected their new home and prepared for the emergence of their King. You ran, alongside the other villagers, to stay alive, but with each step your determination to return increased...
You have sent yourself on a coming of age quest, as no-one else payed enough attention to you to realize that it was time for one. Your self-given task is to rid the world of dungeons, because you nobly believe that no living thing should be locked up. Having found surprising success in all of your recent attempts, you decided to tackle a bigger challenge. That's how you ended up in the oldest and most massive dungeon known to your race, unceremoniously named "The Dungeon". As you entered the gigantic doorway, you had a strange feeling that you might not return, but you blew it off the way your family blew off you. You head further into the dungeon, determined to make a difference and return home intact...
Epic dungeon time #2 You enter the dungeon of justice. Were you are attacked by a horde of goblins from the land of can't think of a fantasy name land. You fight them of using the power of the wand of power. Interesting fact the wand of power is actually not that powerfull. So you use that useless peice of woof to beat them back. You defeat them and collect your exp and gold and move on to grind another dungeon. Believe me this never gets old. You come across a horrible monstrosity called really scarey name # 97. He proceded to insult your mother , you then to defend yo mamas honor beat that little piece of crud muffins up and in that moment of fury you realize that you lost the wand of power and you reach down to try to grab at were it last was in your seemingly endless pockets. But something is lets say off, but non the less you found a wand. That particulair wand did not prove usefull in this battle. Well I am running out of words so you find you destiny and get out of the dungeon and continue on a to another epic dungeon adventure.
can I use my own story for other previous contest of other developers for this one? It's kinda similar...
1. On your way home from your last adventure, you decided to stop to smell the roses in the garden on the road. It was then that you spotted the most beautiful flower in the world, and you said to yourself "I have to get it". With a swift movement of your arm, you pulled the flower with all your strength, only to find out that it opened a trapdoor beneath you, which would lead you to an endless maze of enemies. Will you even make it out? Only time will tell. 2. After kicking the shopkeeper/blacksmith off the village for scamming everyone with his prices, he swore that one day they'd need him, and that day he'd have his revenge. You were a young boy venturing in the woods, when suddenly you feel on an endless pit, and while you fell, you heard the words "the only way you'll ever get out of there is by battling with MY ware, now at an INCREASED price MWAHAHAHA, how's that for a scam!" 3. It was a day in the park like any other, you are walking peacefu- WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH... (this part of 3 is optional) AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH... you fall down something, somewhere, somehow... and didn't die. Next to you lie some armor and a sword, with a note that says "good luck, you'll need it". Suddenly you hear steps coming towards you, is 1, no... 2, 3.. 4... **** TOO MANY SKELETONS!!
Like a poison tipped blade you slice your way through the night. With the speed and stealth of an assassin you slip through the village. As the wild and imaginative thoughts of those in unbridled sleep swarm the skies above, your mind is set only to do the bidding of your employer. The moon highlights a madness in your eyes that no daylight would ever see reveal. Dressed in a thick hooded cloak you are simply a part of the night unwilling to take it place. With one glance back, you are swallowed into the mouth of the jet-black drain. In the darkness the scurries of a thousand feet and the turning of hundreds of heads reach your ears. Without the slightest emotion, you tighten your hood, and draw your blade. You turn upon the horde, and the light of the moon gleams in your eyes. Just thought id try
And another attempt They say you where born from the depths of hell. Forged from the ashes of an eternal flame and the lavas of the planets core. Thrust upon a world of sunlit skies and eternal winds, you never felt at home. But while in the mountains, you feel the call. A sense of sudden direction comes from within you, and you follow it to lands end. Staring at eternal darkness, you plunge forward without a backwards glance. With your eyes blinded your senses come alive. You feel alive as thought you were dead before. You have come home. With only your instincts lighting the way, you begin the descent back to the hell from whence you came. But the winds from a thousand blades, the light from a thousand sets of armor block your path. Let the inferno rage.
