The DEX gain gives you +1 to armor repaired per shield. The DEF upgrade gives you +2 to armor repaired per shield. So DEF is strictly better than DEX, but neither is useful to you right now.
Your weapon damage (per sword) is low, so maybe you want to increase base damage to compensate. But I think the game is going to get quite a bit harder pretty soon and it's going to get very hard for you to kill skulls. Weapon damage is really important (and you can't get it by leveling up).
Agreed with the above. If you scroll back a few pages you'll see an interesting discussion about how much armor per shield you should be shooting for (roughly around here http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?p=1717026#post1717026) I'm still really hoping for fireflame to improve the leveling up a little in the future. I'd love to see the options change once you max out a bonus chance. For example strength would change to weapon mastery (or finese?) and give you +1 base damage and +1 weapon damage. It'd really help boost the leveling up process without overpowering it and also be a little clearer for people to decide what to go for.
Hmm... got the full version Sunday by being a winner in the contest D), but when unlocking classes, I noticed something kinda weird. Not sure if I was just extremely lucky, but I now have all of the classes. The strange part is that: The first time I got a trophy, I unlocked the Mage. I used the Mage the next couple of times and the first trophy I got with him unlocked another class. I continued to use the Mage and eventually leveled the class up twice. When I switched to the next class that I unlocked (which I believe was the Raider), the 1st trophy I picked up with him also unlocked a new class. I changed to the new class the very next game, and unlocked a new class after killing a couple specials and getting a trophy. I kept switching and kept unlocking classes one after another, and now I have them all. Coincidence? I think not. (And if it is a coincidence, then it's also a conspiracy! )
Theoretically throphies have a 50% chance of levelling the class or unlocking a new one... You can still throw a coin several times and get the same side each time, maybe you just were very lucky. DEX gives +1 armor per shield but also +5% shield bonus chance. The DEF upgrade does not give this bonus chance so they are different, not necessarily better. Nope. Increasing 1 point of STR gives you 1 extra base dmg and 5% extra bonus XP chance. That is what STR affects, base dmg and bonus XP chance. To clarify, picking +STR will give you: +1 base dmg, +5% XP and not +1 STR, +1 base dmg, +5% XP. Weapon damage increases how much damage each sword you trace add to the total damage that turn. It is generally better and should be picked preferentially than base dmg. It is not affected by STR.
If you saw the screenshot that was posted, he had def and str and 100% so therefore it's not worth it to get dex.
Still, it is helpful to have a high base damge to use against the Overseer and (to a less extent) the Trampling. Also, since the base damage can be increased by two points in an upgrade and the sword damage only increases by one, sometimes it is worth upgrading just for the high damage levels you can get to.
With the depth and replay value this game has (and will continue to gain with updates), it is certainly worth more than $5 and at least $10. I've played 40+ hours on this game, and I know other people have played more. I think we can agree that you deserve to get some compensation for your work.
Question: Has it been confirmed that you only get a max of 2 trophies per Raid? I'm not playing for high score at the moment and would like to know if I should just end this current game or not.
If we won the writing competition, when can we expect to see our work being published in this fine game.
I thought I even heard up to 4, but who knows if that was later curbed down in updates. I don't recall ever getting more than 2 in a single run myself but I ma FAR from being a master player.
One of my favorite things about the game is how much money it has saved me. Before I bought this game, I was spending $30.00 - $40.00 a month on apps. Since I bought it, I am spending about $5.00 a month. Now I only buy a game if I really want it as I know that the odds are I will not play it because I will be playing this game. Hands down, the best app I have ever bought!
