Oh, well that's a bit embarrassing! I think I qualify as a frequent player (back in my day we didn't have boss skulls!) and I never realised that. You know what they say about assumptions, hehe.
Hi guys. I'm new to the forum but not to the game; I just love it. Some feedback for fireflame: Thank you for being so involved with the players and taking on everyone's feedback and recommendations. My advice, though, is not to get carried away! Don't cater to every single minority voice and stick to what you think will enhance the game. Afterall, it was mostly your ideas that made the game popular in the first place, right? On an unrelated notes, can someone please explain to me what repair (as an upgrade, not a skill) does in the game? So far I have ignored it because I don't know what it does. Is it important?
Dungeon Raid is such a great game--- it's pretty much taken over my life! I want to thank Fireflame for all the free updates, but I must say that I'm a little disappointed to lose the Mimic-- that was one of my favorite monsters. I was pretty good at finding him, but every once in a while I would get clipped by one. It was frustrating, but it made it all the more rewarding the next time I caught one first!
I'm liking the update so far, and in perfect honesty I can't say I'm sad to see the Mimic go. But I would like to check, will the "I see what you did there" achievement for killing a mimic in shield mode be removed or replaced?
Multi-Day Game Affected by Update? Hi all, So I've become very addicted to Dungeon Raid, and I have a long game that I've been playing over multiple days. (first time breaking 10k and I'm up to 150k with no signs of slowing down yet) but I'm concerned because a game update was just released, but I'm still playing my game. Should I avoid syncing/updating? Will I still get GC credit if when I finally die I'm on an old version? Help me Obi Wan Kanobi, you're my only hope.
I'm thinking about getting on the high score board as if I stopped right now, I'd be #12 all-time in normal.
Hey Fireflame! Great game! I found a bug at the beginning. Some letters don´t work, so it´s impossible to wright a name. There´s just a sound if I touch (for example "r", "o") but no letter comes. Tyra
Dang, I hope it's not on Easy. I'm 97% sure it's on normal, but I guess we'll see at some point. I ignored Defense. I focused on increasing damage (mostly base), increasing hit points and decreasing cooldowns, XP Bonuses and UPs before anything else, in that order. I focused my spells on getting: Skill Elixir, one other item clear (Repair), one offensive upgrade(Dazzle), and one escape hatch (Teleport). I'd send off Skill Elixir every time it was available and pair it with Repair leaving the board with mostly enemies, swords and gold. Usually that would be enough to make a chain that cleared most enemies but if I needed more fire power, I'd use Dazzle and have almost a full board of swords with which to smite. If I didn't have to use dazzle I'd just collect the coins. I cycled through the game like that and only used teleport if I got in a bad spot while waiting for the Skill Elixir/Repair/Dazzle to recharge. I haven't had any close calls since about 15k, and I've just been grinding since then. Now I'm dealing 1300+ base damage with 4900+ Hit Points and waiting around for anything that can stand up to me. The only time my HP bar ticks down significantly is with Spikes, but with my 25% life leech and regenerating 100+ a turn, I quickly get back up to full.
Just got to play the latest update this morning and I love it. The menus are much cleaner and the bug fixes and new specials are great Keep up the great work! Thoughts on new specials Spoiler Hurray for meat shield! Love it. It single handily killed me in my latest game too! I did a big boosted armor shield chain and had him and a bunch of skulls drop (w/ few swords). Took me two turns to take the big lug down at which point the screen full of guys took me out on their third swing. He might become the worst special to see late game for me :- ) The Liche is also an awesome idea and I like how it was implemented. I especially like his art! Fleeing is fun but IMO one of the easiest specials to deal with. I think he needs to do something bad if he reaches the top of the screen (on top of his current ability to hit you whenever he moves downwards). Or does he already do something and I just haven't let him do it? From the description it didn't seem like anything bad would happen besides him disappearing. Would it make sense for him to be called lookout and have him summon other specials (atleast 2 I'd say) if he gets off the screen? Also does it make sense to change life leech so it leeches life from each enemy instead of just a percentage of your attack value? Right now I think it'd be confusing for new people since you don't leech more life when you chain with more skulls... only when you add on to your total damage to each enemy (via chaining to a sword). Obviously you'd have to drop the percentage gained a lot to keep it balanced... but it's a little confusing at first the way it currently works.
I hope you didn't take my comment as offensive, I was just shocked. Congrats though if it is on Normal.
i dont understant the mage special skill ..if u draw a path to a closed blablla bla...in simple what does it do?? i feel the special skill of class are worthless...like the dwarf he can collect tiles all around?? what that he will collect swords which i donr want him to do also i think the game has a problem loading game center leaderboard...im 640 turns on harder with score 7186 and it shows im 332 turns?? Anyway a very addicting game...it can really affect your life !! lol
Rune basically works like a net. If you start and end a chain (after activating rune) on the same piece then it collects everything inside of it. Powerful but hard to set up. In general I think most of the class abilities are powerful and fun abilities but not necessarily the best for achieving high scores. For example I love volley and take it sometimes just to have fun... but never on a serious high score run. But i think that's perfectly fine. Some abilities should just be to have fun with :- ) It also helps to have lots of options so each player can find a style that suits them. For example I'm loving the idea of the new hack skill (especially comboed with slash) even though I doubt I'd take it on a serious high score run. I'm going to give that a whirl tonight and maybe it will pleasantly surprise me. Fun idea by the way fireflame (comboing abilities. especially with their names sync up so well like hack and slash!)
Why do you guys find this hard to believe? Once you get past about 15k on normal mode, you can cruise to 150k easy, it's just a matter of fighting boredom with a good build. I currently have a normal game at about 160k and it's not looking like its gonna end any time soon. I think there aren't a ton of high scores on normal because people get tired of waiting for the skulls to catch up to them and just overwrite their game's. I'm going to try to finish this one but it's gotten really tedious (upgrade, upgrade, upgrade, upgrade, upgrade, kill a couple skulls, level up, upgrade, item shop, kill a special, upgrade, upgrade, upgrade, upgrade, upgrade, ugh...). Last time I will ever play normal, but I can't stand to have a GC friend with a higher score than me
First of all, I love this game (as i've said before) and it's awesome to see the dev feedback on it. Maybe I am a bit biased, though, since you liked my Lich idea Second, there's a small bug-- when the special who explodes after 5 turns (forgot his name) dies -- that is, his counter gets to 0 or you kill him-- the explosion takes out the surrounding tiles as well. Is this intentional? It seems a bit silly to me, since he is supposed to take out 1/2 of your hp..but it ends up being more like only 1/3 with the potions he destroys (which then go to you). Third - The dragonkin "fire" ability feels very, very underpowered...especially considering the ability cooldowns and that when you do use an ability, the enemy that is set on fire will probably just die in the same turn anyway. Maybe it should be replaced with something else? I can't really think of a way to power it up except to change it to only work on specials. My idea for a replacement is dragon speed: 5% chance to get a bonus turn...or something like that. edit: another possibility would be to make the fire affect multiple units, and instantly...hmm
Hahahaha. Agreed. I started out playing on normal but after going past 15k my first time I went to hard and harder and never looked back. On that one game i went over 15k I literally tried to kill myself after a while because i got bored and saw no end in sight! Yeah fireflame is great at picking out the good suggestions and using them. Good idea with the liche enemey! For the dragonkin... I think the flavor of the ability fits the race well so if anything I'd say beef it up over changing it. Maybe have it do a 3x3 grid instead of one spot (similar to the flame special) or even just a 2x2 grid.
