Haha. Sounds like my wife to a "T" Wondering.... Any chance this might go on sale again? My wife really liked what she played, but I've spent so darn much, a beautiful sale would Suuuuure be nice And has there been talk of a universal or iPad only version?
I believe the high scores gets cleared after each major updates? it would make sense too because the game gets more fair with every update, therefore taking out all the imbalances like overpowers or underpowers. i myself got my high score resetted and i totally have no problem with that - challenge starts all over again I agree with you that as for the infinite play i do not think it's possible anymore. As someone mentioned earlier in this lonnnggg post, your growth is linear while the monster's growth is exponential - you may start out fast but eventually monsters will catch up with ridiculous increment in their strength. actually at the end of my 1300ish turns i was basically teleporting around whenever i get the chance...and when a special monster drops before my teleport recharges, that's how i died lol.. bleeeh.
I read this forum almost everyday and have not specifically seen this idea, so I apologize ahead of time if this is brought up on one of the earlier 133 pages (and yes I think some sort of FAQ would be great). Idea for an end game that does not involve the words "You are killed". Since the dev has taken the time to come up with many "intros", maybe there can be some sort of "win" possibility so that if you accomplish it, you can get an end story achievement or checklist. Then another goal would be to try and get all the end stories. Idea to get this accomplished: Each story has an end boss (not a skull - someone has suggested this earlier), that has a % chance of showing up after a certain number of turns (say 1000). Once that boss is beaten, you still have to get out of the dungeon via another route (ie. it'll take somewhere between 100 and 200 more turns and if you use teleport, then it adds to the number of turns you need to do). As I was saying, it would be nice not to be killed and also there can be a leaderboard of who has the most endings.
I'll try to answer some of these: 1) As far as I can tell trophies drop after killing a certain number of specials. This count carries over between games so you might see a trophy with the very first special you kill in a game if you already killed a bunch of them in your last couple of games. The difficulty you choose doesn't directly effect the rate the trophies drop but it DOES influence how common specials appear so, in theory, playing at the higher difficulty levels mean more special encounters per turn than if just playing at Normal difficulty (but then again if you can only last 10 turns on Harder, this advantage might be kind of pointless). 2) Each class has two big unlocks at the 5th and 10th levels. Once you level a class up to 5th level, not only can you now choose among the unlocked races for your class in your next game, now the race linked to this class is available as a choice to any of your other 5th level or higher character classes. At 10th level (and realize class level has nothing to do with your current character's experience level) your class' unique skill can now be used by any of the other classes (as long as you go in and edit into the class' list of 20 skills).
It would make sense, but I haven't seen any of the old scores removed, and the designer seems resistant, for whatever reason, to requesting that. I'm not sure why your score disappeared, but there are several other high scores that didn't. There may also be some that are just forged.
This means that you can use the class skills with other classes-- Raider could use Wish, or Priest could use Masochism, for example. You have to have to be at level 2 or above though, so you can replace the skills.
He has several times explained that the existing high score table cannot be simply reset, that feature is not offered by OF or Gamecenter. Odd, but I dont doubt it. He could multiply points by 10 with the update, or create a new high score table (i.e. a second table), but he believes (correctly) that the first option would annoy some, while the second would create complication. He also recognizes that he isnt necessarily done re-balancing. I have not yet proven it, but I think the combo of elf+poison+blunting+your favorite build should allow one to plug along for another couple hundred turns and get very good scores.
I was going to mention this back when we were talking about the new menus and people were having trouble, but I think the tabs would benefit from having the currently selected tab a brighter shade of blue and the other three a darker shade of blue, that way the fact that they're tabs becomes more apparent. At the moment, since the tab icons are also buttons, the tabs and the buttons bleed into each other and it just looks like a whole screen of buttons. It's a little thing, but just a thought! Also, just to double up a bit, maybe have next to each lock icon "unlocked at level 3" (and 7 and 9, from memory?). If i get a chance I might post a mock-up, I love designing UIs! (wow that was the nerdiest thing I've ever said).
In GC you can write to Apple support and they do it for you. I don't know how it works in OF but it's obviously possible, people need to be able to delete forged scores for example.
You're really that worried about "forged" scores in Dungeon Raid? I don't think there are any, just perhaps some people that got lucky with older versions before certain attributes were capped. You should go look at the Pocket Frogs leaderboards. Now that is rife with hacked scores but nobody gives a crap.
I was just saying that Game Center supports the removal of scores partly because some people do forge scores in some games (and I assume that OF does the same). Not in Dungeon Raid in particular.
Well there's a lot of great threads for you to champion your cause in. Maybe you can start on online petition to send to app developers. In other news, scored 106k on my last game. I'm starting to wonder how essential Teleport is. I don't find myself using it until turn 1200-1300. At that point, special skulls do start to overwhelm me and a bad combination is a cue to leave. However, for those first 1000+ turns of the game, perhaps I would be better off using a skill that will net me a higher score by turn 1200? I wish it didn't take hours to finish a high scoring game.
Quoting myself for context. So here's what I had in mind regarding darkening the deselected tabs (here's hoping TA doesn't compress images into oblivion). It's a very small thing but I think they're more apparent as tabs this way. The text labels could go either way, might be handy. I think it happens because there's buttons and tab icons that look more or less the same and it's not immediately obvious what's a button and what's a tab icon. I threw the unlocking requirements on there but that might be overkill. It was meant to clairfy, but really I don't fully get the confusion over some things. A lot of people post here not understanding how to unlock things, when the class screen says right in the centre "Kill special enemies to unlock and level up classes". That seems pretty clear to me! Still love the game fireflame! Constructive feedback, I have a fascination with these sorts of things.
This is when you know you've played too much Dungeon Raid... I think the third one qualifies as a Yo Dawg meme =P
Could you please cut out bringing up the same issue when fireflame has already responded to you? http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=1630929&postcount=818
He brought the issue up in response to another poster asking if the boards were cleared after every update. Besides this entire thread is people discussing the same things over and over, just because something's been mentioned or addressed by the dev doesn't mean it can't be discussed further. I know trolls aren't exactly champs at making sense but you could at least try a bit harder
I didn't bring it up, I just responded to someone else's question. Also, his claim that you can't erase Game Center scores is simply not accurate.
I keep wondering the same thing. Not only would you theoretically have higher scores, but also the additional upgrades you might have from something like Skill Elixir might help you be in a better condition to fight those bad combinations at those turn points. However, every time I try without Teleport, I don't seem to get very far. Even if I may only use it once in the first 500 turns, without that one use, I may not get into the higher points. I'm happy about cracking the top 25 (18th all time) on Hard (50+K), with an assassin modified for 5% arrows and the combo of Teleport, Dazzle, Scavenge, and Double Shields. The arrows don't work with Scavenge, but the occasional chain you can make with them that you couldn't otherwise makes them worthwhile for me.
