It is a LOT to digest all at once but each class has the initial perk/flaw combo hard coded. As you level up the class more you'll be able to add more perk/flaws but you can never swap out the initial perk/flaw for your class. The race you choose is almost like an additional perk but as opposed to being tied to a flaw, it is tied to a mortal enemy (a special beefed up form of a special that you'll ONLY see when playing as this race). I find the Warrior's mortal enemy the most annoying to deal with by far. It isn't that offensively dangerous...but it is REALLY hard to kill!
I personally am glad the upgrades and levels are kind of going slow. I have played half my battery down now, and just unlocked my 2nd class, but that is only after about 5 games. Seems right to me. I think the pacing is good.
Oh dont get me wrong i personally like it too =D Just wondering if iam doing something wrong =D Is there any difference in playing Normal and Hard mode? will it give me better chance to unlock/level up iam playing hard mode?
good stuff I hate that frickin devourer ... stealing my hard earned upgrades I unlocked the werewolf assassin first ... what was the inspiration for that choice combo? Kudos for making a already addicting game move to the front of my game queue
Have a nice game on hard going as adventurer. Is adventurer the only class that you play where you unlock new classes, or there is never a need to play adventurer if you dont want too? I think its the later, not sure why I played another adventurer as my 3rd game! Also, if you hit the max on +upgrades per shield, +exp per skull, +gold per coin, does it keep showing up as an upgrade? Reason I ask is because in the old version, you could pick a durability "upgrade" even though you were already at the cap. Since the stats screen doesnt show your total +%s, there is a real danger you could pick a pointless upgrade if it doesnt tell you. (Not sure I even recall the caps, I think its +200%?)
WOW!!! Awesome update!!! Will play it much much longer now!!! Already unlocked the Priest...loving it so far. Congratulations, incredible game with incredible value.
I unlocked my first class, the Ranger as an adventurer. I just unlocked my 2nd class, the mage, playing the Ranger. So it appears to be just killing bosses increases the changes of unlocking new classes. I have yet to level the Ranger to level 2 though, so not sure how that is different than unlocking new classes.
Plus one for the developer writing this. I love the game, and have played for many hours, but there are still a handful of things in the game that I have no idea what their purpose is. For example, what is "quick"?
Thanks. If you are willing sit next to me while I am playing and tell me the other things i don't know are, I woun't need the developer to write something up. Otherwise, I would still appreciate a full list. Interesting. Four of your top five would make it into my top 10. If we have similar tastes, you should try Boxikon.
It looks like you can inadvertently exceed the 200% caps on upgrade per shield, gold per coin and xp per skull. I had +200% upgrade per shield, and was offered another upgrade of it -- my understanding being that this additional upgrade would have done nothing. I suggest a tweak, as its annoying to have to keep the numbers in your head.
youre right....i guess when a value is subtracted u see red, when its added you see green. when its completely removed you get nothing.
It took a minute, but I understood the algorithm for the green/red highlighting on the store. Things that are better in comparison are green, things inferior are red. So it's showing the new item has the better defense (3 from 1), and in comparison the old item has a lower defense (1 to 3), but also has the "better" damage of 1. It might have been more intuitive if the item was lowering from 2 damage to 1. Then you would see the red 1 damage on the new item (to show you the value is getting worse) and the green 2 damage on the old item. I think this is good as is. (Ps -- it's great when the worse nits about a game are the lack of documentation. This thing kicks butt. I also understand on a $2.99 per sale (list) budget, hiring tech writers is not as easy as when you're on a $60 per sale retail budget.)
I agree, but I think that what most people are asking for is not a user guide, but some sort of one line description of each attribute/skill/bonus/etc. He probably wouldn't need a tech writer for that.
Playing the previous version, I never saw durability upgrades when I was at the 90% cap, or +upgrades when I was at the +2.00 cap, etc. I haven't played the new version enough to test whether there is a new bug. I have to agree with people who say that the game when it starts up is now incredibly confusing, with no explanation of what's going on. I can figure it out because I've been reading this thread, it doesn't really bother me, but I think 99% of people who have never played the game or read about it and who just buy it and try to start will be extremely confused and annoyed. The previous version you could just start playing and figure out as you go.
