It most certainly could just be my crappy iPhone 3GS (and likely is ), it's been dropped a few times ...time for an upgrade! This issue on the iPad isn't a constant, I have only seen it a few times, so would likely be difficult to track down, if at all Thanks for all the responses! I can't wait to play Just one other comment: - Currently there is no way to check Game Center leaderboards without leaving the game, though in a few other applications I have seen the ability to evoke a windowed version of the Game Center leaderboards (if anything just to see my score versus my friends'). This would be sweet to have in Dungeon Raid so I never have to leave the game...ever!
With fast task switching, is it really any worse to just start Game Center and then go back to your game where you left off? It's never bothered me.
Yah, this works, too, but I guess I just never really use fast task switching very often while in games, nor do I keep Game Center open (actually rarely ever look at it to be honest), but when I am checking my latest score, or am on a good run, it then occurs to me that it would be nice to see the rest of the scores (well, at least my friend's scores), but certainly not a huge deal
Still obsessing over the leaderboards I see. An important question regarding the upcoming update. Will there be additional "origin stories" for all the new races/classes? I find that short blurb before each game adds a lot of flavor and having new unique ones for the new classes would be very exciting for me.
I don't understand all of this animosity. Did I hurt your feelings somehow? You really think we shouldn't discuss our scores and how we're playing and how well it works? To me that's the whole point of having a forum.
Battery... Is it me or Dungeon Raid really drains the battery for a simple 2D game? I mean, when playing Infinity Blade or Angry BirdsI understand that graphics or physics makes the A4 CPU work a lot but a simple 2D game? Anyone knows when the new update is coming ? By the way keep the good work guys this game is INSANE. Can't put it down.
Can't say I've noticed to be honest. I played for ages on my Touch 4G and the battery indicator didn't even move.
it used to be a battery drainer when it first released. on par with game dev story. but after numerous updates im not even feeling the hit. especially not on the iphone4. sounds like you might need to clear the RAM. as far as the update, i think on page 77 fireflame said they were doing some testing before submitting it, and theyre pretty good at telling the forum if an update has been sent to apple. im just as anxious as the next guy. cant wait to see the post saying the update is live.
Yep, the update's been submitted and judging from past experience should probably be live some time next week
thanks for your hard work. looking forward to the update!! ...come on Apple, less approval of 'Fly Swatter Ultra 15' or 'Shake the Screen 213', more approval of this update.
Woot Woot Let's hope it for tomorrow and we'll see Would be very nice to have it for the week-end!! (Sometimes updates are very fast to get approved!)
It's times like these I begin wondering again what the heck is involved in approving these apps. Are there guys playing the game, is it simply the source code being scanned by some super computer, or do they simply put it in an outbox with a 1 week timer to just have it approved once the timer goes off?
ive heard they actually play the game. have their guys try breaking the app or exploiting any known bugs. but that was just word on the net amongst people. if it true, ive always wondered: how do you find bugs at the height of a game(the furthest the game can possibly let you go)? alot of iphone games are highscore based. how do you know the game wont glitch at 100k when the testers cant reach?
It certainly does seem inconsistent at times, and the whole process could probably be made more transparent. As frustrating as it can be, though, I give Apple credit for having some sort of "guardian" system in place. TTBOMK, iOS has yet to be hit with the level of viruses and malware that have plagued other mobile platforms.
I agree, it's a good thing they do whatever they do before approval. If only they could have found all the bugs in PQ2, but that's a separate issue. I'm glad I have this in Appshopper as an "I own" game, so I'll get the pop-up when it finds the update, but I'll still be checking the appstore for updates like a maniac all weekend.
Game Impressions Hey Gang, I'm assuming I have FireFlame's blessing and will start revealing some of the classes, but, since I'm lazy, hopefully you'll excuse the lack of pictures. SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! Here are the first 2 (Adventurer doesn't count as it isn't really a class at all). Some terms to know in advance: Perks and Flaws: An automatic passive ability granted to your class. While the first perk and flaw are hard coded to the class, with enough use of the given class you'll eventually be able to add more unlocked perks and flaws but always as a counterbalancing combo (i.e. you only have to take the first perk & flaw combo but if you want to add more perks you'll need to choose one of the unlocked flaws as well). Unique Skill: This is a skill that only this class is able to see in his mix of possible skills until it is unlocked for all classes to use by continued use of the class it comes from. Default Race: Initially you can only play the given class as that race but with enough continued use of the class you'll be granted the ability to choose any of the races you've unlocked so far. Mortal Enemy: The SPECIAL special that pursues you based on your chosen race. Ranger: This is the guy that specializes in combat at a distance. Perk: 5% a sword will show up on the grid as an arrow (a sword compatible icon that can hop over a tile to continue the chain). Flaw: -1 to starting armor. Unique Skill: Arrow Barrage (15): All swords currently on the grid become arrows. Default Race: Elf: Poison does half damage. Mortal Enemy: Poisonous: All attacks made to player while this guy is on screen are poisoned and the poison status can't be cured until this mortal enemy is dispatched. Raider: A money loving hit n' run artist. Perk: 100% bonus chance when tracing a patch of 10+ tiles. Flaw: Matching only 3 tiles gives no resources (but still works in combat). Unique Skill: Masochism (15): Converts all coins into skulls. Default Race: Halfling: +1 to maximum armor when you kill 15+ monsters in a single attack. Mortal Enemy: Invisible: In addition to having a very high defense value, all skulls on screen while he is present will have double their normal armor value.
