If there is a high likelyhood a game will provide two hours of enjoyment, then it is automatically worth more than 2.99 given how much things cost in our society. Under that standard, its clearly objectively worth 2.99 to people that like rpg/match 3. The mere fact that there might be .99 games on your list that appeal almost as much doesnt mean this one isnt worth 2.99. That would be like saying a chess set isnt worth 9.99 because you can get a checkers set for 6.99. If money is tight, you think you might like checkers better or almost as much, and you only have time/money for one, then get checkers. That doesnt mean a chess set is over-priced.
I'm with ArtNJ here. I price my entertainment in dollars per hour. $2.99 for this game is a steal, especially compared to going out to a movie.
Yeah, the game looks like it's worth the price to me, but I still haven't bought it yet. That former $1.99 price makes it tough to swallow, and I've got other games to play now with all the sales and the release of NBA Jam, which I, yes, paid full price for. Hmm.
I've been eyeing it for a while and picked it up yesterday. For what it's worth, I don't regret the purchase at all. Seems like a great dev to support, too.
The most addictive game i've experienced so far on my iPOD Touch. The gaming equivalent of crack cocaine. I keep expecting to get sick of getting my ass handed to me. But i'm always back for one more go (or three).
Those who whine it lacks professional polished graphics, alternative gamplay modes, and a decent storyline should consider themselves lucky...as they at least have built up some sort of immunity to the power of this game's addictiveness. Sure they might be shallow fluffykins, but at least they can sleep at night without dreaming of a grid full of skulls!
Amen, LordGek! I'm considering starting a Dungeon Raid Anonymous (DRA) group to provide a safe and supportive environment for fellow addicts to receive comfort and counsel. On a somewhat related note, I think there was a mention on this thread of optimizing power usage for the game. Combine the game's habit-forming nature with the current amount of battery power drained and I can barely play 6 or 7 full games without recharging. I'd love less battery drain. But it's not urgent or anything.
so any tips? i have been surprisingly addicted to this game. i just have been playing this and NBA JAM
Hey all, OpenFeint is doing a fire sale on Dungeon Raid, 1000 votes in the OpenFeint Game Channel app and Dungeon Raid will go on sale for a week at $0.99, great deal for those of you still on the fence
I'm downloading the game channel now and will vote- thanks for the heads up! EDIT: and I voted, though I had to quit out of the app and launch it a second time to get it to show up, and perhaps that only worked after I had logged into OF within the app. Not sure.
1,000 votes finally. Anyways, it's not downloading for me. It says "the item is currently being modified. please try again later". Anyone else have this problem?
Retina? Hi fireflame. First, the game is very fun!!! Do you planned support for retina in future update? Thank's.
I hope there's a graphical upgrade - the colours looks very washed out, and the drab colour scheme doesn't help, either. I picked it up yesterday - it's insanely addictive. But like I said, it needs a complete graphical overhaul. I don't think it's something I'd show to people in its current state, given that there are some truly spectacular-looking games on iOS.
