I'm at level 180 now and Everytime I try and check stats on an item the game crashes. Maybe its a bug with an item? Hopefully I can make it to 181 and check again.
Hey guys, i've been a long time lurker, but i decided to log in to let you know that i'm constructing a wiki about the game. I know it's not that complex, and the game isn't really difficult to understand, but i was bored. I already have most of the pictures for the skills, upgrades and equipment, but i'm not really good at making wikis. Feel free to contribute, and put some pictures of highs scores. In the next couple of days, i'm going to try to put tables and images, and completing some of the pages. PS: I did this with no permission of fireflame, so if you have any problems with me putting pictures of skills or equipment in the wiki, please just let me know, and i'll take them off. EDIT: Whoops!, the wikia is dungeonraid.wikia.com
Yeah I had that happen once before, I think it might be related to too many different enchants on an item. Just a guess, but if the number of enchant descriptions doesn't fit in the box, it seems to crack it. One interesting thought about the discussion on adding critical hits...at the moment the game tells you your damage before you hit, so would it determine crits after you hit? That is, you believe you're hitting for 50 but there's a % chance that your hit will actually hit for 75 or 100 once you commit to it? And would that % be per skull? As in could you crit on some but not others, or would you crit everything at once? Also I know crits are traditionally double damage, or occasionally +50%, but either way that seems like a big bonus. On the other hand, I like the idea that you could hit some skulls and not be sure of the outcome. You know when you're going well, then you get to a point where you add up their damage, realise you don't have enough health, work out how much damage you can do, work out how much health you can recover this turn...and slowly realise you're screwed no matter what? Well, it's cool that in this instance you're left with "well, i can still hit them and pray for a ton of crits", hehe. All is not lost!
Just had a look at the life leech description and yeah it's not as well explained as it could be. I think the term "life leech" is used in quite a few RPGs (Diablo comes easiest to mind) so it kind of relies on you already understanding the mechanics. I'll update the description to be more descriptive, but what it does is heal you by % of the damage you do - e.g. with life leech 5% if you do 20 damage you'll get healed by 1 point. When life leech is active you'll see a "leech x hp" label right under the "n dmg" label when tracing skulls/swords if you do enough damage. That is, if your total damage is 19 you won't see a leech label, but if you do 40 dmg you'll see a "leech 2 hp" label. Also, the label is greyed out if you've only matched swords and not skulls and you won't actually get any healing since you're not actually doing damage to monsters. Because it's a % upgrade, life leech is much more useful in the late game than early on. Good idea, I'd put it under finger just so it wouldn't annoy people who already know what the monster does and don't want a huge tooltip blocking the view every time they tap it (I figured the specials don't show up often so new players wouldn't be too bothered by the tooltip showing up under finger), but putting it down in the bottom menu might work just as well and not annoy new players Yep, this one's becoming a pretty popular request, I'll add it in possibly before the 1.3 version if any other bugs/small tweaks come up Ditto on this, I like ken's idea and am still very interested in doing new game modes, potentially for 1.4, but I'd like to keep the current survival modes going, a lot of people are still being challenged by them and it's fun to see your improvement in a pretty freeform environment as you gradually work out the mechanics and form new strategies What version are you running, and what's the item? If you want, you can email me on [email protected] and I'll try to work out what's going on No problems whatsoever, thanks heaps for setting this up
Hmm I'd definitely tested the stats screen with max enchantments, will double check Yeah, the unpredictability of it is why I didn't add crits in the first place. Right now all the information is presented so you can better form an attack strategy, I'm not sure if adding the possibility of a random damage bonus would lead to overly mindless hit and pray gameplay?
Spoke with BPElectric, and his strategy for infinite play on harder seems totally legit. Small, but maybe important refinement of my strategy. Very clever. There is an easy nerf that will fix things. I'll PM fireflame
So does this game have any other visuals other than the puzzle screen? Kind of a bummer that its just a survival mode type deal, and doesnt have a progressive story.
bug or design? a question for the game's dev: it seems that in Hard mode i am not able to get the leech past 20% - there was simply no longer an upgrade option as i went through literally over hundred upgrades... whereas in normal and easy mode i had upgraded it all the way till 120%. not sure if this is a bug or it's intentionally designed so you can't survive infinitely in Hard mode... any insights?
Alright, I finally grabbed it...and I can see what all the fuss in here is about almost right away. It really does blend all the elements seamlessly. I like the graphics and sounds which really capture the essence of a roguelike or dungeon crawler without being flashy. The gameplay mechanics are fun and addictive, combining the style of Azkend with a real risk/reward strategic element. This is certainly one of the better match-3 games out there at least.
Just saw that Dungeon Raid is now in the "featured" section of the App Store. Congrats on finally getting some much deserved recognition fireflame!
Being a huge PQ fan I thought that this would be a downside, so I waited a while to pick it up. In practice, for me, it hasn't been and it's easily one of my favorite iOS games. Very hard to put down once you start playing. Looks good on iPad though still hoping for Universal at some point. Hint Hint.
Since 1.2.1 leech is capped at 20% on ArtNJ's suggestion, so it's possible you played the Normal game on a previous version? Right now Dungeon Raid's featured in 232 places in the App Store, in many countries on the New and Noteworthy or the front page! Thanks everyone for giving the game a try and improving it with your ideas and feedback! Hint definitely received, hopefully I can work on making it universal after the next major update
I'm officially hooked on this game...So worth the $2.99! Congrats on the new and noteworthy fireflame!
I agree, easily worth 2.99. However, I do think Fireflame should consider a sale while he is on the charts to try and crack the top 25. That might be all it takes to get into the promised land
thanks for the quick response fireflame it's good to know that we got an awesome developer for the game who listen to players
Yikes! That's a low cap! I would have thought 30-50% would be in the fair range. 20% is awfully low... Just my opinion.
