Play as the adventurer because classes will be the only thing you can unlock since they don't level up.
What ruined the game in harder mode..you never survive as someone here posted..which was a baaaaad choice to implement..in rpg they don't make a mood where u gonna die..the more exciting is the thrive to survive and being on verge to die but are evading by this or that or by luck...making no choices for strategy or luck to win or survive kills the game.. No point to play you are going to die and usually at same point..what's the point to play?? No any challenge or goal or fun..
I can only handle so many posts... Lol Ok, someone save me from the last 3 hours of craziness. I read quite a bit of the answers to confirm a few things I thought were true but (after saving someone from answering a few ?s for the 50th time) I'm whining. I have been playing for a few months my best is 16,940 after 785 turns. I have had 896 turns but I only got 10,135. 1. First, please can some guru or magic mathematician clue me in on pushing the points up? 2. What in the world are the over 1 BILLION in pts scores I see on open feint??? FYI even if you (without failure or pause) got 1 point a second, it wou be just short of 32 years... 3. The Ugly pink chucker keeps falling into the screen randomly, immediately chucks another skull at me, & has killed me a few times this way... Does he have a special rule set that allows him to bypass the standard "wait your turn like the other good little skulls" rule? 4. The fleeing skull keeps attacking me every turn he's in the board, although I have not touched his column. I only touch him to kill him... Not sure how I offended that one. 5. The flamer does not deal damage to the ones he sets on fire (except me of course). Failure to communicate?? Any info would be soooo appreciated!
I got that much when I was curious & looked at it. Was looking for the jk, here's real scores button. Irritating enough to make me finally hunt you guys down... Besides all the obvious sarcastic comments about that one, anything you can help me with otherwise?
2. Hacked scores. 3. After every turn you take, all of the monsters currently on screen will attack you their own special ways. It really makes no difference where you just made your move, if the monster is on screen still he will attack you. Most just do so set little amount of damage according to their Attack rating but that Pink Chucker guy throws monsters at you for big chunks of damage until you take him out or there is a moment where there are no other monsters to throw at you. 4. See 3. 5. Other skulls might be immune to his flame, I can't recall but if so, tough tooties, the idea is to take you out, not conveniently kill all of the other monsters for you. Hope this helped.
You didn't say what difficulty you're playing at. But most of your points come from leveling up, or improving your equipment. Surviving is worth something, but it's more important to maximize your power, by using some kind of combo that lets you power up faster. E.g., a typical combo is Dazzle, Salvage, Boost Armor, which lets you fill up almost the whole screen with shields and collect them with a 2x multiplier, every 5 turns. So that gets you 4-5 upgrades every 5 turns, if you do that for 500 turns you can get 500 upgrades. There are similar combos with coins.
I figured on the hacking. How satisfying that must be! I have sharpies! Anyone need to look good? I can help! Hehe I expect the chucker to do that when he has been there. I'm talking about after I clear something from the board & he is part of what's filling in the newly created space. Btw, was just curious if it is normal. I have made sure to be as prepared as possible for that one lately. he hasn't made it past 1 turn in a month. Oh, & after reading ALOT today... I do appreciate your ideas for this game. I have been able to use your Kamikaze to my benefit a few times. Thanks! Back to boosting points... Right now I am in love with enchant & the xp potions! Anything better? I am not giving 1 spot up (need dazzle, I'm hooked). I have 3 to spare lol
Sorry, if I came of as rude to anyone. I forget my mouth can get me in trouble sometimes with sarcasm. I genuinely appreciate the help, & only asked you guys cause you were the only ones who were truly trying to learn this. I couldn't find any respect for a few other threads I came across (the few you can find dedicated to this game)... I haven't ever felt strongly enough about a game before to bother...
Enchant is ok early in the game, but weak late. Think about it, you are getting 1 upgrade every 25 turns, at best. With the combo I described, I need 3 specific skills, but I'm getting 4 upgrades every 5 turns. I suggest you play around with Dazzle/Scavenge/Boost Armor or Golden Touch/Treasure Chamber/Boost Gold. Or possibly some of the class-specific skills, if you have the patience to unlock them (I haven't played the game hardly at all since those were added).
Actually, I have managed to create a snowball effect as the game progresses. My fav combo right now is enchant, xp potion, dazzle, & disarm/teleport. I max out my skills early so all my level up offered have to be health/defense related. I also make sure I get all my bonus % chances are at 100. If you keep your weapon damage up, your durability, life leech, & piercing up... I have been able to get either 1-2 upgrades each turn 1 level up at least every 2 turns. Attempting to kill each special is the key. I only use some thing like teleport in emergencies. I played with mana to add but you really need another attack/defense option. I have done this the last 5 times & I have gotten between level 53 & 74 without realizing. Doesn't look like it at first but, if you can keep your help up & use that xp potion EVERY time it's available, you spend more time figuring out what an acceptable trade in the shop is than killing skulls... Almost forgot! THIS STRATEGY ONLY WORKS WHEN I PLAY ME CHANGELING WARRIOR WITH +1 base dmg, +10% Coin bonus chance, 100% Bonus for 10 plus tiles... Flaws seem to be best at -10% bonus shield chance, can't dmg 5 turns, & 5% shields broken. If your style's similar, try it. It works amazingly by level 23-25.
Just a thought... I will try a big game hunter in there. It will make my chances of enchant completing cooldown even sooner. Like you know as you progress the specials can come every other turn. Each time you kill a special with a changeling you have a 25% chance enchant will be refilled. 1/4 chance is excellent & I have noticed, if it's your 1st skill, it seems to get refilled more often than not. Don't forget each turn I'm looking for ANY way to upgrade or shop. Shields, coins, skulls(xp). I don't care as long as it adds to my offense
Equipment upgrades are more valuable than leveling up once all your skills are maxed out. (They are also more valuable early on, because they increase your upgrade and XP multipliers, helping you upgrade and level up faster.) This must be one of the new race/class things. Sounds interesting but I will probably never be willing to take the time to unlock them.
Go easy on me! Just realized my dork-ness was showing. I agree with you whole heartedly on that. I don't really bump up my max health & defense amounts until I get the skills maxed out though. Backwards? Yes, but then when I do start using the level up options on me health, defense & such, I am able to up my base dmg by 3 in one turn rather than taking 2 turns early to accomplish the same goal & missing other upgrades I wanted in place 15 Kbps ago. It's costing me less turns, so skulls are slower to kill me. I have to pay close attention to the little sneaky goobers for the 1st half but, dying in the early stages isn't uncommon if it's just an unlucky run. ... & truth be told, I spent 2 grueling days unlocking & lvling up all the classes so I could try any combination freely. (totally worth it) -my lame excuse for being unable to do anything but keep my brain busy in fantasy land at the time
& unlocking & leveling up is NOT as grueling & difficult as alot of people make it sound. My last 4 unlocks & 70% of my leveling up on my classes happened the 2nd day. I had a hard time adjusting to how the Mage operated the first day so he kinda took up most of the day
Sure. Especially on Normal, you shouldn't be at much risk of dying for the first several hundred turns, you should totally be maxing out stuff that helps you grow faster rather than worrying about health, defense, etc. Yeah, I believe it. There was a time when I would have done that too, but now I refuse to be manipulated. If the designer doesn't want me to play the game, I just won't play the game. I'd be glad to give him $20 to unlock everything, to me that seems like a better deal for everyone, but what do I know?
Maybe this wil help Here I hope you can tell more now. I wasn't able to show this to you yesterday. you should have the option, I agree. Not everyone can spend the time I do. I haven't gotten the combos you've suggested yet but I'll let you know after I get them how they worked out
