"Do you want to fight" might be annoying but on the other hand I just died because I accidentally fought a red X enemy when trying to walk in the other direction away from him.
Bought - thank you TA for bringing this to my attention. I'm not sure when I'll have the time to actually play it, but very much looking forward to trying it out Definitely allowing us to better handle the slots on a large screen would be something to consider. Cheers, and congrats on the release!
I was playing with the rogue and repeatedly having matching items in the slots be blacked out and not register as matching. Is this something to do with being poisoned? I couldn't understand it, it happened a lot.
Yeah this isn't explained but you can only match items for your character class, Mage uses potions and staffs and shields and hearts Warrior uses axes shields and hearts Rogue uses daggers, shields and hearts. Matching items not for your character does nothing apart from leave you open to attack
No, I figured out about the weapons being specific to classes. But I would have 3 daggers and only 2 would be highlighted. One would be blacked out. I took a lot of different screenshots of this happening in case it's a glitch. It happened with potions and other items too. It happened with the mage as well. For example in this one screen I have the mage with one gold blacked out, one potion lit up, one axe blacked out, one potion lit up, and then one potion blacked out. I have one as rogue, poison lit, dagger lit, poison lit, dagger blacked, dagger lit. Rogue with 5 poisons but one is blacked out.
NakedSnake: Please forward the screenshots and any steps that you think could help me reproduce it to [email protected] Thanks.
Okay I emailed you a mage screenshot, there are two other screens above, and I have 2 or 3 additional screens if they're of any use. I was playing on iPhone 3GS, I don't know what other details there are to give. Latest iOS firmware, no jailbreak.
This came as a nice surprise! I wasn't expecting it for another week or two. A lot of fun and very addictive. A couple issues though. First, as unique and fun as the combat system is, it feels repetitive after a while, especially since the monsters all seem to behave the same. Second, there's no explanation as to whether a monster will hit and how a monster's damage is determined - it seems random. It would be nice to know. Finally, is there a difference between the three shops at the beginning? They all seem to be the same. Why would you need three of the same shop in the same place? Also is there a reason stuff you're wearing when you buy replacement equipment isn't sold immediately? No reason to keep it in my inventory is there?
Downloaded... How does inheritance work? Does it mean that I should accumulate as much gold as possible for my current character to kill him off so that my next will have more gold to start? Will my equipment carry over? Wondering whether to spend gold on upgrading equipment or just hoarding it till he dies for New Game+...
Glad you like it! Monsters damage will be listed - been asked a few times, I'll try to get it done tonight. All shops carry the same inventory - there's multiple tents just to fill the town. Otherwise there is indeed no reason to keep your old items in inventory: I don't automate the selling to keep the satisfaction of hearing the coins shaking and seeing your gold go up. Thanks for buying the game! Inheritance will generate gold "out of thin air" to discourage the kind of strategy where you'll sacrifice a game just to boost your next. What you must do is give it your best with every character: the farther you make it in the game, the bigger the stash for your next character will be, you'll have a better chance of an higher ranked rune and you may even unlock a higher starting level. Some of your magical artifacts may carry over but never your regular armor. Good luck. And play a rogue they're way too low in the leaderboard atm and could use a shakeup
It would seem this inheritance is based on something other than simply gold on hand when you die as I believe I'd inherited more gold than I had on hand when I died (not completely certain here, however). Your equipment doesn't carry over but I'll bet its end combined value plays a part in the inheritance. The runes, if I understand it properly, are based on how far you made it in the game. I have yet to earn better than a minor rune so not sure what it takes to get the bigger ones (since it would appear many of the effects of these runes overlap, if not all, you only gain the benefit for the most powerful rune tweaking that effect).
Just a note that if you exit a dungeon within range of a monster it is impossible to retreat. That may be intended behavior, but thought I would bring it up.
Game Impressions My only whine at this points is how 2D the baddies are, and I don't mean graphically. Why not give rats a chance to poison? Floating Eyeballs could stun the players once in a while. Some armored beasties might only take half damage from physical attacks. Etc.
So is it better to start many games and keep dying while maintaining a cash hoard or to spend on upgrading equipment? I mean in terms of gains for the inheritance... What is this rune thing I keep reading about? Is there supposed to be a rune powerup? Also congratulations to the developer as more and more sites have posted reviews of Dungeon Plunder.
I think you're right - sounds like a good addition to me and will cause the player to try to avoid certain type of mobs if possible. I like the concept. I just need to be careful however to not screw up the balance obviously. Also, to not overwhelm the new player, I'll probably put those abilities on non starting mobs. That's what I like so far about the release: so much good feedback as a result of having the game played by different people.
