ok that random quests thing sounds awesome, people recommended this game so thanks for answering those questions so quick ill be picking this up later tonight!
Thanks for the support and hope you'll like it. Don't be shy to post if you have further questions while playing.
Cool, glad it worked out for you. That being said, I've realized this is one of the few games I prefer on my iPhone instead of my iPad. It's very easy to play it with two thumbs on the iPhone whereas with the iPad it's much less comfortable to play while laying in bed or what not.
ok i'm confused i'm playing a warrior and there is 2 diffrent axes in the reel and one axe with a sheild around it. can you explain if im supposed to go for the 1 axe and not touch the other kind of axe or am i suposed to click both? what about the axe in the same picture as a shield should i be always picking that since mabey it does both? i dunno im confused lol.
Basically you try to match up 2 or more of the same symbols on the reels at any given time. Double Axes go with Double Axes, Single Axes go with Single Axes and the Single Axe+Shield count as both a Single Axe and a Shield. If you press the ? button at the bottom right of the combat screen you'll get an explanation of the different symbols and what they do.
I did put an option in the latest update to move the spin button to the lower right. I tried it myself on the couch with my gf's iPad and it made a difference That being said I'll do better on my next game to have a better experience on both platforms.
Nice, I will check that out. What if the "reel lock" buttons were up and down the sides of the screen? Then you could still reach them all with a thumb. The way it is now, you're tapping across the entire area of the screen all the time so if you could find a way to play the game without having to constantly move your hands you'd be in good shape. Just thinking out loud, I don't expect you to actually implement any of this
Problem is that if they're on the side it'll probably not be super intuitive to have these buttons on a vertical axis mapped to reels on an horizontal axis. The solution? Sirii integration!
hahaha! That is a sure fire way to make sure that every move is the exact opposite of what you actually wanted to happen.
Hey Dominic, another question for ya... How does the cloud sync work? Is it a merge or an overwrite? Say I have a level 11 rogue and all others level 1 on my phone and a level 6 warrior with all others level 1 on my iPad, will they come together? Thanks!
If you mean starting levels yes they will be merged. Characters are not copied over (due to the permadeath nature of the game): only the class starting levels and the amount of runes.
Oh no, I noticed this was on sale 30 min too late it looks like - still showing as on sale on the appinfo on 1st page of the thread and on appshoper, but is £1.49 when I view it in the App Store, how unlucky!
Yeah sorry extended it by a day because of the wild success but it's done now While I'm around little here's a word on 1.20: spent the last week rewriting huge chunk of the map generation/pathfinding code to bring a final resolution to those occasional stuck mobs/quest items. It's not "fun" to redo stuff but I've been carrying this one for way too long and the patching attempts were just not cutting it. As a side effect the map generation got improved and generates "wilder" maps than it used to. Still need to spend several hours of testing but I'm aiming to submit to Apple tomorrow / wednesday at latest.
I got to the party late, but since I started playing I have mostly been focusing on the rogue. I hit a major wall around the level 13/14 area and finally decided to give in and start a new class which happened to be the ranger. Holy crap. I am kicking ass. I am level 12 with the ranger with 5 life scrolls now and haven't died with him once yet. I don't know if it's that the class is more powerful than the rogue, I've gotten better at the game, the ranger is a better fit for me or some combination of all three....but man, I am having a blast stomping mobs with my lizardman ranger and his snake pet! PS: What level is the last boss anyways?
I bought this in the sale and I'm glad I did. It took a little getting used to - I was so sad my first permadeath - but I enjoyed myself so much I bought the Ranger class to try it out. Typically I play mages in games, but I'm actually enjoying the Ranger and Rogue best. (I like the mechanics of the mage, but I'm very squishy.) Currently I have a rouge, died a few minutes ago at my highest level (5). I really like how you set up the transfers of exp/gold/levels - I think that it offsets permadeaths really well. And runes! I'm still on the first tier ones, but excited to get more. You've done a great job hooking me with the "oh, just one more quest.. dungeon.. level.. character.." I actually didn't want to stop playing to sit down and post something, haha. In short, you got a loyal customer/fan from the sale, and I got an awesome game. Thank you! Interested to see what 1.20 will look like. Now, I'm just gonna do one more quest... ETA: Oh, and the abilities! I'm still getting the hang of what does what and what to use when, but I've really liked the ones I've seen (mage, ranger, rogue) and like that they're a bit tricky. It makes it more satisfying when I figure it out, plus it adds more strategy and takes away the button-mashing element the slots mechanic could have.
Wow feels great to read this! Thanks for the purchase and the kind words. 1.20 is light on new features and will be mostly to push the revised map code and to clear the bug list. I'll get back on new features in 1.21.
