Hey Dominic, I had something odd happen to me today that I wanted to report to you. My rogues start at level 9 now, so I started a new rogue. Instead of starting at the appropriate place on the map, I started at the very beginning with all the mobs/quests intact. All the quests said "Bring him (null)". I made my way through the map to the level 9 "area" and the quest there was bugged too, so I deleted the character and made a new one. This fixed the issue and i spawned in the correct place on the map this time, but ultimately it was a mistake because now I have lost all my inherited artifacts. I had a couple nice ones too
I'll check that out. I fixed a case of similar buggy quests where the character spawned at the proper area but what you describe is a first to me. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I wish I had taken screenshots, my bad there. If it happens again I will try to provide you with as much data as possible.
I've been experiencing a lot of those quests in which I can only ever find 2/3 quest items. Earlier today I even had one quest where I couldn't find any of the requested items! And I'm currently looking at two monsters that are surrounded by mountains and some water and I can't get to them.
I'll work hard to get a fix for the above in time for 1.20. Were they in level 3 or level 6 region? I fixed some pathfinding occurrence for those 2 in the upcoming 1.19. If they're elsewhere it might cover it as well but I'd have to test it - feel free to send me a screenshot to contact AT dungeonplunder.com. Thanks.
Not sure exactly, I don't have access to a PC at the moment (I'm moving tomorrow) so I can't send a screenshot, ill describe it the best I can. It's two of those Cyclops warriors with four arms. The area is at the end of the desert section right before you make the transition to the lava/ice section. I think my character was lvl 10 maybe 11 when I saw them. Hope that helps!
Sorry for the double post, I just realized I can add an attachment to this forum from my phone so ill upload the screenshot to this message!
Love the game, but I keep losing my saves. Just had my Mage a few kills from 14 as well equipped as I've been yet and when I started the game I was back to 11 with 9 health in a battle. 11 must have been at least 4 sessions ago... I also will regularly kill something and when I go to take the chest the mob will reappear and I have to kill it again.
Thanks for posting this. The warp back is caused by a jailbroken version. I don't know much about these but I had someone who contacted me way back and said that he fixed it by updating his jailbreak to another kind. Can't help further than that. Skipping mobs/chest is another thing which is not caused by a jailbreak. I'm aware of it but the fix would involve quite a bit of rewriting which, tbh, I do not plan on doing at least short term since it doesn't have that much of a side effect. From what I gathered It doesn't happen so much on recent devices but more on 3GS and old iPod touches,
It would be really nice if a confirmation message would pop up when you died if you still have life scrolls left. A couple of times, I accidentally hit the "you lost" button when I had a handful of life scrolls left which is really annoying. Also, here's a pic of some landlocked mobs in level 12 land.
Life scrolls may not be used when you're dead. They must be used either before spinning or after the initial spin. You must assess the risk of dying basically before deciding to use one. Thanks. Got a good idea to resolve all cases of these now without slowing down the map generation time too much. It's not in 1.19 though although it does solve a most cases pre-level 10.
I have used a life scroll when at 0 health many times. In fact, that's the only time I use them. Are we saying the same thing or no? Example: Lets say I have 1 life scroll left. I have 10 HP. I roll, choose my reels to keep and reroll. I get hit for 11 damage bringing my HP to zero. At this point, I can use a life scroll to go from zero back up to full health. However, the You Lost button is in the same place as the Spin/Respin button so I have advanced into death by accident instead of using my life scroll instead. It would be really user friendly if there was a prompt on the You Lost button that said something like "You still have X health scrolls remaining. Do you still want to continue?" Does that make more sense? That raises another question. What determines how much gold and how many life scrolls your next character starts with? Is there a benefit to try to stash gold instead of buying equipment if you are already kicking ass and don't feel like you necessarily need the equipment? Thanks, man.
Well just checked and you're 100% right. Not sure when it got broken but all I can say is: enjoy it while it lasts You're not supposed to be able to use these at 0 life. There's no relations between the inheritance and your leftover gold. Formula for everything is tied to your dying level (and to a certain degree the difference between your starting and dying level). It makes things "out of thin air" basically. So basically give it your best every run: there's no other way to insure a healthy inheritance to your successors.
Yeah I suspect there's a few veterans who noticed that one but kept it quiet: Cat and mouse at it's best I'd have it autotrigger anyhow if it'd be usable at death. I'll make sure to announce it in the update notes as some newer players are probably used to that way now.
I'm with you, especially since I never even thought to try this. I'm in the middle of a Ranger Level 11 run with 4 or 5 life scrolls; it's gonna be hard to resist using this method. But no, I'm gonna go at it old-school. Death is the end.
Yeah just so there's no confusion: I'll restore it on the next update (not 1.19 which is already submitted but 1.20). Karma points if you pretend it's fixed meanwhile
