I would be happy if the new iPad gets at least 2 GB Ram. Its so easy for a dev to consume the devices entire RAM in seconds. The more RAM the device has the less prone to errors a game is. Oh, I remember developing for iPhone 1. This was a tough task memory-wise. Good old times...the iPhone 1 is the only iPhone I I will never sell.
I am pissed about the RAM because I open many tabs in my third party browser and iOS keeps clearing them so each time I click back on an old tab, it has to reload from the internet, and if I was reading it halfway, I have to search for which part of the webpage I was previously at... More realistically, iPad 5 will still have only 1GB RAM and 128GB storage only. Apple's innovation under the Tim Cook regime is zero hardware innovation, but throwing in crappy half broken software extras like iMessage, Siri and Apple Maps. Waiting for iPad 5's exclusive software gimmick...
Quick update: due to an ally with an US based company the planed Kickstarter.com campaign will definitely come! Its just a matter of weeks. And the second point: within the above mentioned campaign we will also release ports of the game for Win32 and MAC! As I solely develop on a Windows machine and as Unity 3D is the underlying engine this is no big task at all. So - the game will come for iPad 2 or better, similar powerful Android tablet, Win32 computer and for the Mac. There are no plans for an iPhone release yet. And as I not just only want to post some words, here is a screenshot of the level I'm currently working on. Regards, Axel
I guess that's either a compliment to Unity 3D or our artists? Or booth? However, I'm certainly biased, but developing a game with the artwork I'm getting from the artists is for sure a bit of extra fun. Btw.: the planed crowd funding campaign will most probably go live in about a month on indiegogo.com - not kickstarter. For a non US/UK company like us kickstarter has to many restrictions. Well, that's bad luck for kickstarter then I guess. As soon as we are ready you can read it here or on our Facebook home https://www.facebook.com/fancyfactorygames of course. All this is a real adventure for me and I'm thrilled to see how much you will like this game!
Hey, it's time for a small update. So please let me show you some more environments of the dungeons I'm currently working on. Its nothing spectacular, the lightning is not final and the action and some details are missing. But you already can spent a good bunch of time crawling in these dungeons and looking for a way out. And you only can hope that your torch is not dying out in the middle of a dungeon. Here we go (*click* into an image for full resolution):
Might and Magic, really? I tried to achieve the look'n'feel of Eye of the Beholder II and Lands of Lore. But M&M is cool as well. I played "World of Xeen" for many, many hours. Sadly I never finished this game. I aiming for a release sometimes next year, but this depends on the question if I will be able to fully fund my (damn expensive) baby. I'm able now to finish about half of the game on my own, but I need (a lot) more money for the second part. My dream is to run a crowdfunding campaign to get the missing $$$ and to keep my independently position, but we will see if this idea works or not. Thats your chance then to support the project and to get all the content and eye candy. The more money => the quicker the game will be finished. Its really so easy. Also you need to know that this game is mostly a one-man project (the man is me ) - so the development takes its time. Lets hope for the best.
I'm proud to present our latest trailer, made for the upcoming indiegogo.com campaign. Even before the campaign starts you can watch the trailer here now. The trailer even includes a bit of early gameplay. I hope you enjoy it! Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
