A lot of monsters got skills changed, basicly to sum it up: all level scalings have been removed on the normal monsters, some fusion monsters got skill changes (for example bapho and DK) and every monster that got abused like goblin also got killed in the process, yeah the minimap is the best update so far (imo) Yeah they will get oneshotted but you can prevent that with relics, skills or other rooms, guardians are not really high priority, but also not that low, and im talking about the late game, at that point heroes will have muliple hunrded thousand hp some even millions, and they basically onehit everything and anything that gets hit, unless you have stuff like shields, immortality, absorption, armor etc. you will just die immediately, and if you only rely on one source of protection, chances are that they will remove/negate your protection with a skill and you are dead, but that is the real late game, that won´t happen pre day 500, it will start to appear afterlike 600-700 days and that only on trial difficulty, especially 7 and above (trial 7= a bit of your defense gets ignored), although tbh. i havn´t played hard mode since trial release (outside of challenge mode)
Has anyone been able to beat the Hard difficulty for the "A Poor Tenant" challenge? I have been able to breeze through every single challenge but this one is miles harder than the rest. I have experimented with a few different builds and have found no success (I usually die around 160-340). If anyone has beaten it or has an idea of how, please let me know! *Edit: I was able to beat this challenge with my usual Emma kill room strategy and a bit of luck. Frost storm in the front of the dungeon and a plague right before Emma's room. The rest of the space filled with hatcheries.
Yet more newbish questions. 1. Does Regeneration Steel create regeneration itself, or does it depend on some other source of regeneration? (Like an ally with regeneration, or a separate regeneration skill on the monster itself, or a room with a regeneration bonus.) 2. Does a monster's level have any effect on combat aside from the fact that higher level monsters have better stats? That is, suppose I have level 10 and level 15 monsters with identical stats and skills. Will the level 15 monster perform any better? (In some games, simply being higher in level confers accuracy advantages and so forth.) Thanks!
1. Depends on other sources of regeneration. 2. They gain stats and sometimes monsters will gain skills when leveled. Many monster abilities will scale with level (some scale with attack and other stats), so having a higher level monster will mean more scaling on their abilities. In your example, the level 15 monster may have more potent abilities due to having a higher level.

Warning though, upgrading your prison will remove even all that in the torturing process. Every single of them. So plan ahead if you want to upgrading your prison.

I'm still struggling to understand all the new stuff in this new update. One thing is, that I spent some soul points (or whatever they're called) to turn a Goblin into an orb. I then added that orb to my Dark Lord, who didn't have any skills (this was in a new game), and expected her to get the Pickpocket skill, which was listed on the orb. But, she didn't get it. Now, in hindsight maybe Pickpocket is better suited to be given to one of my other Gigantified monsters, or something, but I don't understand why the Dark Lord didn't get it. Is there only a chance that a skill listed on an orb will be transferred to the target monster? Or is it that you can't give skills to the Dark Lord at all from orbs? The purpose of the orbs, vs "Enhance Dark Lord" or "Combine Monsters" seemed to be a way of giving the primary skill, which you never normally get from the Enhance/Combine options, which only transfer the second/third skills. Is this the case? If not, what is the primary use of the orbs? Do they rank up monsters, when given to them? I haven't even got into imprisoning/torturing heroes yet, that's the next thing...it seems like it would take a lot of work. Is it really only worth doing to get your hands on a skill which you can then transfer to the Dark Lord/one of your top monsters? On a more general level, I've picked up a lot of information about this game from this forum, particularly from Nyanpass's fantastically detailed posts, but is there an actual "manual" somewhere? It feels like everything has to be figured out, as if we'd found the game in some ancient sarcophagus, with the instructions crumbled to dust. Is it the case that there are instructions, but just not in English? thanks!
1. Alright, you can have a total of 6 skills on every monster, 5 skills on the monster itself, 1 from equipment, orbs count as equipment, so it won´t appear in the list of the skills for the DL itself, imagine it like this, even though they can only have 5 skills if you give them a sword made of fire, they can burn enemies with the sword even if they themself can´t do that, with the weapon they can do it. 2. Exactly, with the orbs you can turn the unique monster effects into equipment, it is not used for anything else. As of current update 1.5.X (depending on android/ios) 3. Once you torture a hero, the resistance of a hero drops lets say it drops to 0%, in that case if you corrupt it in a blackmarket there is a 0% chance to fail the corruption (aka. 0% it always succeeds, 100% it always fails), if it succeeds you get a corrupted hero, if it fails you get a random monster with the same original rating as the hero (atleast for 1-5* units, havn´t tested it on 6* units, but will try that if i get a 6* hero soon), corrupted heroes only have 2 ratings 5* and 6*, all elite and heroes that were 6* at the start, will be 6* if corruption succeds, the others become 5* corrupted heroes, corrupted heroes are monsters. 4. Nope, everything we know is either tested out, or information given from the game or even the developers themself

Ah, thank you. And now that I look in my monster list I can see that the DL has an "Orb of Goblin" in the weapon slot. Makes sense, thanks.
I'm playing with Emma, my favourite DL. Does anyone have any top tips on skills to transfer to her, and how I get them? (which monsters, I mean). Is there a particular combination of 6* monsters that's good to have in the room with her, as well, and which additional skills work best for them? I've played this game quite a lot now (best score was level 800 with Emma on Trial 8) but am finally starting to go in depth with the skills...
Heyo, if you check the table https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vQTK2GMwroQAiMLEQh7kNmAHwZ1bzZJMCpBd6WUbXKfvFGEWXvmMiPdpKMuTMBJAuJrJ9nqGzefiogv/pubhtml?gid=1701849568&single=true , you'll see that some monsters have "on damage" debuff applications. If you spam her 4 a lot, some of those could be very good for you.
I am making this post about challenge mode, since it seems that there is not a concise guide out there and I wished I had some sort of thing like this when I play playing it. I am not sure if anyone even cares about this mode anymore with all the new updates, but I hope this can help at least one person out there. "Challenges play similarly to Normal Mode, but beware, Succession is disabled and if you do not have a monster or facility in Storage then they will be lost before starting a challenge." How do you unlock Challenge Mode? "After reaching day 100 in all stages of Hard Difficulty and unlocking Trial you will be given the option to attempt to clear Easy mode of any of the following challenges. Upon completion of an Easy challenge Trial 1 must be finished to unlock Normal mode and after that Trial 5 unlocks Hard." Description and how to unlock Challenge Mode from the wiki: http://duma-eng.wikia.com/wiki/Challenge_Mode When and why should you play Challenge Mode? Challenge mode is NOT a good way of farming for Devil Stones. If that is your primary goal, then you are better off playing normal runs and avoiding Challenge Mode for the time being. If your goal is to get more tools to have stronger runs, then farming Devil Stones in Normals and buying the packs will be a better path. I would recommend doing Challenge Mode only when you have a solid amount of unlocks (good amount of fusion monsters and rooms and dungeon expansion) and at least level 10 in Dark Lords: Tania, Rebecca, and Emma. It'll definitely help to have a few of the unlocks that increases the starting level of your Dark Lord, but you can do it without. Some of the rewards in Challenge Mode are pretty great though and you can complete those challenges for those specific rewards. Or you can just play this mode if you find challenges fun like I do. List of rewards by reddit user Ni_iV: https://www.reddit.com/r/DungeonMaker/comments/94tqve/challenge_mode_rewards/ Some key rewards are Monster and facility succession, and some of my favorite weapons: Death's Reach and Avalanche. And of course, Dark Lord Irea and her awakening. Most of the challenges have pretty solid rewards though and you can choose what challenges you want to complete based on your main Dark Lord and playstyle. Make sure you have Monster Storage that you can store succeeded monsters in else you will lose them. Strategies to Beat the Challenges proxima1227 has a pretty solid guide on reddit on how to beat the challenges which can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/DungeonMaker/wiki/challenges.This strategy applies for any challenge except for Metronome and Protect Your Lord. I also want to offer the way that I beat each challenge for more perspectives. I used a pretty similar strategy and was able to beat every challenge except the Metronome and Poor Tenant this way, so I will just build a bit off of proxima's guide. Obviously there are multiple ways to beat each challenge but these are the ways that I was able to beat mine so I want to offer them to you if you are having trouble. For every challenge except Metronome and Poor Tenant I was able to beat them using: 1) Tania and spam her 4 mana ability 2) Some sort of AOE trap at the front (Ice Pit, Frost Storm, Poison Leak, Plague, even Electric Field works.) 3) Playstyle: Literally just fill up your entire dungeon with monsters and battle rooms. Grab every battle room and place it down early, and open enough monster eggs to keep all your rooms filled. Proxima says "This should be done by no later than Floor 80. Use rooms that give buffs to monsters (rage, concentration) and battle rooms that debuff heroes (panic, sloth, etc.). Avoid most traps." Replace shittier monsters and rooms with better ones as you come across them. Obviously anything that applies in Normals should be applied here: prioritize treasure chests, elite tiles and battles. I am just going to assume that if you are trying Challenge Mode, you already know the bare-bones stuff about the game. 4) I like to build a few haste rooms and facilities if I get the components (frosty wind, tailwinds, one or two hatcheries, etc.) and put fusion monsters like Suparna, White Fang, Sephiroth, and Fairy on these haste tiles since they have benefits that affect the entire dungeon. Don't build these for the earthquake challenge as they will just get destroyed if you have terrible RNG like I do. 5) Books just kinda give you something to do at Dungeons before bosses, so don't prioritize reading over battles. I usually only just read How to Get Rich and Grudge and Revenge 1. You are better off just spamming battles to get rooms and monsters to fill your dungeon. 6) Floor 120 as we all know is Haze +10 to all monsters. Get a Mystic One skill on yourself before this fight and on at least 1 other monster. Remove all units from your room that don't have this skill. Having a Warhorn at the front here might honestly screw yourself, so try to move it to the corner for just this battle and swap it back later if you do. Floor 440(?) or something also has a boss that gives +5 Haze to all monsters so just keep that in mind as well. 7) Expand your dungeon whenever it is offered. Having more filled rooms and monsters will strengthen your dungeon. The only exceptions would probably be if your dungeon is not yet full and expanding would leave you at risk. But if you are playing to fill up all your rooms then this shouldn't happen. Protect Your Lord: I was able to beat the Protect Your Lord challenge with this Tania strat, but if that does not work, then try out the challenge with Rebecca using the same setup as proxima suggested. I would recommend banning every equip except Fallen Axe, Crystal Hammer, and Earth Guardian and putting one on your Dark Lord ASAP. I was able to put a Fallen Axe equipment (gain 1 immortality every 4 attacks) on myself as level 1 Tania which helped out a ton for this challenge. I'm sure something like Crystal Hammer (absorption every 4 attacks) or would help out a ton too. Other Challenges Metronome: The speed of all units is fixed to 1. For this challenge, speeding up your own units (acceleration, agility) or slowing down heroes (slow) won't work here so we need to use a different strategy. I beat this challenge using Rebecca with a similar spam battle rooms and monsters strategy as the Tania one. In this case, definitely don't build the haste or agility facilities (also rage, excess, and sloth battle rooms) and just fill every damn room in your dungeon with battle rooms and monsters, except an AOE trap at the beginning like poison leak or electric field. Spam your 10 mana ability and read the corpse explosion books and this challenge should be pretty easy. A Poor Tenant: The dungeon will remain at 3x3 size, and it cannot be expanded. Honestly this is the challenge that gave me the most trouble so I used a different strategy here. For this challenge, I made an Emma kill room and was able to breeze through this challenge with relative ease. I built a frost storm at the entrance of the dungeon and put a Plague right before my room and filled the rest of the dungeon with hatcheries as shown below. A lot of the battles were pretty dicey before I got the frost storm, so prioritize that room (as much as RNG lets you ). The heroes WILL clump in your room so make sure to use your 4 mana ability when they do and grab some AOE skills like earthquake, sandstorm, and blade storm on you and the monsters in your room. Take every hatchery as space allows. Getting a bunch of monsters isn't a priority for this challenge but you want a few strong ones for your room. The frost storm with all the slow and dullification relics with thetis really makes this challenge pretty easy. The plague is just kind of a bonus. Obviously it took a bit of luck to get the components, but I wasn't able to beat this challenge with the Tania strat. Try this out if you are stuck on this challenge since I had the most success with this strategy. And that is how I personally beat all the challenges. You don't have to follow these strategies, but if you are stuck, then try these out and I hope you can have some more success. There are probably a few things that I missed, so I will add on to this when I get the chance.
Great write up, but I have a question. For the "Protect your Lord" challenge, do you put your strongest monsters in the Dark Lord room or around the room? I'm kinda stuck because if some run into the dark lord room I'm always dead.
Certainly the content of this update is amazing. And what's even more amazing is that in a very short time, many players are creating data for Dungeon Maker.
